Sketch N Scrap's Lucky Charms Crop!

March is winding down and our Lucky Charms Crop is winding down as well!  There is still ONE more day to play along!  The crop ends tomorrow!  I had a bit of free time today and decided to play along with Challenge #4 in Sketch N Scrap's Lucky Charms Crop!  The challenge is to create a card based on card sketch #94.  Here is the sketch:

Here is my card using the sketch:
Supplies Used: Card stock: Stampin' Up- Whisper White & Basic Black; Pattern Paper: CTMH (Blue), Stampin' Up (gold) & Elle's Studio (stripe); Sticker: Faith Paper Shop (quote); hearts: KI Memories

This card was easy peasy to make but it makes a BIG impact don't you think?  I used up 3 old scrap pieces from my scraps bag too!  I love how these patterned papers are from 3 different manufacturers but go so well together and with this sticker!  I found the BEST little sticker shop!!  I met a wonderfully amazing lady while Glamping last month and she runs an adorable sticker shop called Faith Paper Shop!  Check it out, Donna has fast shipping and adorable quality stickers that are gorgeous!   I know you won't be disappointed!! I hope you will find time to play along with us at Sketch N Scrap this month, if not we will be revealing a new sketch on April 1st!  Happy creating friends!

Sketch N Scrap card sketch #118

This month is flying by!  Heck, the whole year is flying by!! We have our last sketch of the month up at Sketch N Scrap and it's a simple but useful sketch created by yours truly!  Here is the sketch:

And here is my card created using the sketch:

Supplies Used: card base: CTMH; Cardstock: CTMH; Patterned Paper: CTMH Chelsea's Garden; Ink: CTMH charcoal & Glacier; Stamp set: CTMH Chelsea's Garden (butterflies) & Sunny Thoughts (sentiment); die: scallop border & Chelsea's Garden (butterflies)
I just love this stamp set and paper pack from Close to My Heart! The colors just scream Spring don't you think?  I am trying to work on my coloring skills and found that if I start out practicing on smaller things I can get a better look right now, so this sketch was perfect for that and since I made 4 of these cards I got in some much needed practice!  Coloring sounds so easy and looks easy but heck, there is more to it then meets the eye!  This line is soon to be retiring from the current Close to my Heart Seasonal Expressions catalog but you have until the end of April to order it then it's gone! To order you can visit my website: CREATED BY LISA  This sketch is pretty straightforward and simple but I think it is one I will use over and over again!  Remember you have until March 31st at 9:55 pm CST to play along for a chance to win our amazing prize this month! Happy creating, I can't wait to see what you create!

Let's go Glamping!

A few weeks ago I was so blessed to be able to share an amazing weekend with a wonderful group of ladies!  My BFF and I went GLAMPING!!  So you have never glamped before?  Well, you are missing out! We stayed at a unique and amazing venue called the Lone Star Glamp Inn...here are some pictures of this unique and amazing place:
 Scout- the party girl
 Nora- Blue Eyes
 Debra's Vintage Rose
 Punkie's Place
 The Outlaw
 The Hen House
 Peekabo Pinkie
The view looking down towards our glamper the Lazy Daisy
Our glamper The Lazy Daisy!
This place is spectacular and words cannot adequately describe it's vintage vibe, unique feel and just plain coziness!  You have to see it in person to believe it!  They have not only glampers (vintage campers) but also they have these adorable wigwams (teepees)!  It was a random drawing when we arrived to see what glamper or wigwam we would get and we were super thrilled to get the Lazy Daisy!!! Here we are in our new home away from home

Here is a peek at the inside:
As you can see it is nice and COZY!!

Here we are enjoying the outside of our glamper, relaxing on a beautiful indoor evening!

Besides great food, making new friends and relaxing and unwinding we enjoyed an amazing faithful weekend learning and being inspired by a beautiful faith filled sister in Christ.....THE RESET GIRL,  Cori Spieker!!  I had met Cori in person once prior to this event and I loved her sweet soul and I could tell she loved the Lord from the minute I met her, but it was beyond amazing to spend a WHOLE WEEKEND with her! She inspired me to grow in my faith and not only was my soul fed by her sharing her crafting talent with us but I was also blessed to hear her encouraging message to us and see her work her crafty magic in person!  It truly was inspiring! I am not lying when I say it was  faithful food for my tired/hungry soul! Here we are with Cori in front of the Lazy Daisy:
And here I am with Cori and my commonplace notebook I made.
This event was put on by Crafty Destinations and while I did not get my picture taken with Paula the owner and operator of Crafty Destinations and head Glamper Girl I cannot say enough about her servant's heart!  You must attend one of her events, you won't be sorry!!  Next time I will get my picture taken with this sweet lady!! For those of you who are wondering what is a faithful girl retreat...well it's hard to describe but it's a bunch of Jesus loving ladies who love to get crafty!  We shared encouragement, crafty supplies, crafty techniques and so much more! In the 2 classes we learned how to make dividers and subdividers for our planners, we made a commonplace notebook and learned how to use the awesome faith planner inserts we got as part of our class kit!  To learn more about Cori's faithful girl workshops go HERE.  You can see the faithful girl planner inserts HERE.  I will share my commonplace book and my planner soon! I feel so blessed to have been able to take part in such an inspirational weekend as this and plan to go glamping again soon!  I met some amazing ladies who continue to inspire me with their creativity and love of the Lord! Happy crafting and if your a planner girl stay tuned for more planner stuff!!

Cards, cards, cards! March Flavors of the Month kit

I am sure it is apparent that I love creating cards from the many posts I do about it lol!  I guess I love it for so many reasons but first and foremost it helps me keep my scraps under control!  I always have so many scraps after creating layouts and it is just against my nature to toss them out!  So I create cards.  I usually weed through my scraps once a month or sooner if the box starts to overflow! I have a small box that I received a long time ago that contained some cookies and it is very sturdy and once again instead of tossing it I decided to repurpose it!  I am pretty good about using up scraps before the box gets even 1/2 full but every now and again it starts to overflow and that means a MAJOR card making marathon at my house!  Today I am sharing cards made using the scraps left over from my Flavors of the month kit from March at The Scraproom.  Here are the cards:
Supplies Used: Card stock: Stampin' Up- whisper white, daffodil delight & basic black - from my stash; Patterned Paper: PhotoPlay Spring in my Garden- March Flavors of the Month kit; Sticker: (Just Bee You)- embellishment kit at The ScrapRoom
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Stampin' Up Whisper White, Pear Pizzaz and Basic Black -from my stash; Patterned Paper: Bella Blvd Island Escape- March Flavors of the Month Kit; die: (circle)- Stampin' Up- from my stash; stamp:Stampin' Up - from my stash; ink: CTMH Black- from my stash; ephemera (flower): Bella Blvd Island Escape- from the Flavors of the Month kit; punch: Stampin' Up (leaf for flower) -from my stash
Supplies Used: Cardstock: Bazzill (lavender) & Stampin' Up (white); Patterned Paper: American Crafts Stay Colorful- March Flavors of the month kit; unicorn: American Crafts Stay Colorful- embellishment kit The ScrapRoom; stamp: CTMH- from my stash; ink: Stampin' Up elegant eggplant- from my stash.
Supplies Used: Cardstock: Stampin' Up- whisper white, daffodil delight & real red- from my stash; Patterned Paper: Echo Park Birthday Boy- March Flavor of the month kit; stickers: Echo Park Birthday Boy- March Flavors of the month kit; frame: Echo Park Birthday Boy- embellishment kit for March; embossing folder: Sizzix- from my stash

I had so much fun creating these cards!  My favorite is the unicorn card!  I don't even particularly love unicorns but when I saw this unicorn stamp set by CTMH last year I just had to have it!! lol!  The sentiment is just so adorable and as you can see was perfect for this card and this cute little unicorn sticker from the March embellishment kit at the ScrapRoom!  Here is the amazing embellishment kit:
To be honest, if I wasn't a main kit subscriber I would just buy this kit alone, these embellishments are SO VERSATILE and you could use them with a number of papers your probably already have in your stash....as you might note from my previous paper posts I am a paper junkie and seem to always have paper but never enough embellishments, so this embellishment kit is a "must have" in my book!  But then again can one ever have enough paper or embellishments???!!!  Make sure and stop by the ScrapRoom blog to check out the other amazing cards the DT came up with!  To purchase the Flavors of the Month kit or the above embellishement kit you can visit the ScrapRoom store HERE.  Happy creating friends!

I had so much fun creating this card for a special friend as a pick me up!  It's hard to see in the photo but the words on the ephemera card as in gold foil!  This adds that extra fun sparkle to the card!  I hope you will find time to join us at our Lucky Charms Crop this month! Hello Summer~ March Flavors of the month kit

March is almost half over and Spring is almost here, before we know it Summer will be here and hot humid days where the only way to cool off is a trip to the pool will be the norm!  I will cherish these Spring days as I am not much for hot weather!  Today I am sharing a double page layout I created using the March Flavors of the Month kit!  Here is the kit:

This is the Bella Blvd Island Escape kit I used from the main kit:

Here is the layout I created using the kit:
Supplies Used: Card stock: Bazzill- from the kit; Patterned Paper: Bella Blvd Island Escape- from the kit; ephemera: Bella Blvd Island Escape- from the kit; stickers- Bella Blvd Island Escape- from the kit; enamel dots: My Mind's Eye- from my stash; ink(to ink edges of papers)- CTMH black- from my stash.

I loved these older pictures of my son and my BFF's son on a long ago trip to the water park!  We always had so much fun when the boys were younger taking them to the water park.  Even though these are boy pictures I think the island feel to the kit is perfect for any type of outdoorsy water/Summer photos of either boys or girls!  Make sure and hop over to the ScrapRoom blog to see the other amazing double page layouts the DT came up with using the fun Flavors of the Month kit!  If you are interested in joining the kit club at The ScrapRoom you can find more information on their website HERE.  Happy creating friends!

Sketch N Scrap card sketch #117

Sketch N Scrap has their first card sketch for the month up!  This is such a fun and versatile sketch that Heather has created for us!  Here is the sketch:

Here is my card using the sketch:
Supplies Used: Cardstock: Stampin' Up whisper white & basic black; Patterned Paper:Fancy Pants, Stampin' Up & Bella Blvd Gratitude Documented; dies: CTMH- thanks and hearts; ink- CTMH black

I used ONLY scraps for this card!  I have a scrap basket on my desk and my goal is to not get it so it overflows...so every now and gain I sit down and create cards with the scraps...it's funny how I  have thrown all scraps into this not to big basket from ALL my projects since last October and yet I was able to get these papers to coordinate with very little effort!! In fact, the one heart (Khaki colored smaller heart) was so small the heart die barely fit on it, but so glad I saved it as it coordinated great with these papers! This sketch is so versatile and a great one to use up some scraps...in fact I just might hit my scrap desk this evening and make another card using this sketch...stay tuned!  I hope you will hop over to the Sketch N Scrap blog to see what the other DT members did with this sketch...or better yet, why not give it a whirl, I'd love to see what you create!!!  You have until the end of March to link up your projects using any of our 4 sketches to get a chance to win a fabulous birthday prize package!!
Be creative!
