Sketch N Scrap #160

Howdy!! Well, the week is almost over, are you ready for the weekend?  I sure am!!  Today I wanted to share my layout I created using sketch #160 at Sketch N Scrap.  Here is the sketch:

Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style sketch #110

Happy Hump Day!!  Last night I had fun working on my bible study note book!  I am doing a study with a friend of the book of James for the next 5 weeks.  I am keeping my notes in my Faithful Girl notebook that I made at the Reset Girl's Glamping retreat back in March.  Here is the cover of my notebook:
This cover was printed on clear sticker paper and was sized to fit a composition notebook.  We then just peeled off the back of the sticker and stuck it to the front of a composition notebook...there is a plain pink back as well and we used that for the back of the notebook...it turned out so adorable!  You can download this cover HERE.
For my intro page of my notes I wanted to add a Project Life card to the upper left of the page, so I turned to my favorite site for sketches for Project Life Cards...Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style and used their current sketch #110.  Here is the sketch by Emma:

Here is my card based on the sketch:

Here is my finished layout for James Chapter 1 using my finished card:
I used a bunch of scraps for this spread as well as a few of my Reset Girl Faith kit stickers and washi tape!  It is fun to use pretty paper, stamps, washi and stickers to decorate your notes!  I am working on Chapter 2 this week.  If you are looking for a good study, I highly recommend Francis Chan's Study of James, he is a great speaker and explains it in everyday terms!  Make sure and check out what the DT did using this sketch, some very creative projects on the Sketches In Thyme Project Lifestyle blog!!  Happy creating!

Sketch N Scrap's Back to School Crop!

Happy Monday morning!! Today is the last challenge over at the Sketch N Scrap's Back to School Crop.  Although we post our last challenge today the crop is going on until September 30th so there is plenty of time left to play along!  Today's challenge is to create a card using card sketch #58.  Here is the sketch that I created way back in September of 2015!!

Here is my card using the sketch:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Simple Stories Dream Big from the September FOTM kit at The ScrapRoom & pink- CTMH; card stock: CTMH- white; embossing folder: Cuttlebug- dots; die: Stampin Up; ephemera: Simple Stories Dream Big- September embellishment kit from the ScrapRoom; sticker: Simple Stories Dream Big- from the September FOTM kit at The ScrapRoom; ink: CTMH Black; stamp- CTMH Happy Hearts sentiments

I love the way this card turned out!  I created this card for my niece who is a HUGE cat lover.  She invited me to go on her school field trip next month and I plan on giving her this card to let her know how much I love her and I just MIGHT include a piece of candy in it as well!  I did move the sentiment placement from the sketch mainly because of the sentiment I wanted to use!  This line by Simple Stories is absolutely adorable and I have created some adorable cards and layout using it this month!  I will share more soon!  This line is one that is included in the Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom, so if you want one you can check it out HERE.  I hope you will join us at the crop this month!!  You can find the crop HERE.

Happy creating friends!  See you at the crop!

August 100 Paper Challenge Update!

Wow! Another month in the books!  School is back in session and it's time to think about Fall! My favorite time of the year, however, it sure doesn't feel like Fall here in Texas! It's time for my monthly update on my progress towards using up 100 patterned papers and some of my older stash for this year!  I am happy report last month was very successful in regards to meeting my goals!💜 So how did I do on my monthly goals?  Well, let's take a look:
1) Use 7 patterned Papers- ✅✅✅✅✅✅✅ SUCCESS!
2) Use 10 Bashket items- ✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅  SUCCESS!
3) Earn 5 Camp Reset badges- ✅✅✅✅✅ SUCCESS!
4) Complete 4 Lister's Gotta List challenges in my TN - ✅✅✅✅ SUCCESS!
5) Try Art Journaling- ✅SUCCESS!
6) Host a crafty get together at my home- ✅ SUCCESS!
This was another SUPER busy month as I had to get my son moved back to his dorm but I still was able to achieve all my goals this month!  My first month I have achieved them all!! YAY! Feels good to make a dent in my stash! My bashket needed replenishing as I have really been making a dent in all the stuff in it and also in a small box I have thrown stuff into that I don't know where to put it as it doesn't fit any of my categories I have organized my stuff into!  I replenish my basket items from this small box. I hope to be able to show you an empty box/basket soon!!  Here is a look at 2 of the 4 lists I made for the Lister's Gotta List challenges at Camp Reset last month:

Time to set new goals for the new month!
Here are my September monthly goals:
1) Use 8 pattern papers from my 100 paper pile
2) Use 10 Bashket items
3) Complete 2 tips ins for my bible
4) Participate in 3 online challenges
5) Design a card class and host it at my house & online
6) Refresh my 100 paper pile and add in some Fall papers.
7) Send out 3 cards
8) Get a Bingo on my Crafty Club Bingo card! (challenge here)
Here is a recap of my 100 paper challenge year so far:
 Tally so far is:
January: Embellishments = 10  Papers = 5
February: Embellishments 5 Papers = 6
March: Embellishments = 7  Papers = 4
April: Embellishments = 6 Papers 4
May: Embellishments = 10 Papers = 5
June: Embellishments = 10 Papers = 7
July: Embellishments = 10  Papers = 7
August: Embellishments = 10  Papers = 7
To learn more about my 100 paper challenge you can visit this blog post.  Have you been focusing on stash bashing this year?  If so, leave me a comment so we can commiserate!  I did allow myself 2 crafty purchases in the past week, one for meeting my goals for July and one for meeting my goals for August!  Otherwise I have enjoyed shopping my stash.  I am happy to report one of my purchases was an Elle's Studio kit, so no paper. Not so with my second purchase which was 3 paper packs from Close to My Heart. However, you will be glad to know these 3 packs have less sheets of paper then the amount (45 pieces of paper) that I have bashed so far this year!! So I feel good about it all in all (although while I WANT new papers I surely do not NEED them!)⇢⇢😅  I am not sure what I will end up with this next month if I meet my goals but I have a feeling it may be more paper!! Happy stash bashing friends!

Card sketch #129

I hope your month is off to a good start!! I have had been busy creating and so in my book that means this month is off to a good start!!  Today we have our first card sketch of the month up at Sketch N Scrap.  This sketch is by Heather.
 Here is the sketch:

Here is my card created using the sketch:
Supplies Used:  Card stock: Black & Red- CTMH; Patterned Paper: Echo Park for the Record; Sentiment: Echo Park For the Record; flowers: Carta Bella Our Family (fussy cut); enamel dots: CTMH & My Mind's Eye

This card sketch is a lot of fun to work with!  I had fun using up some scraps I had left over from this collection from a number of years ago.  I had fussy cut this flower last year and didn't use it on the layout I made using the Carta Bella Our Family line and it's laid in my BASHket for over 6 months now so it was time to use it up!!  This entire card was created using scraps!  I still have a few scraps left of this line so look for more projects with it soon!  I am trying to make a dent in my scraps pile. I hope you will be able to play along with us at Sketch N Scrap this month, you have until September 30th at 9:55 pm CST to link up your projects on the blog!  Make sure and hop on over to the blog to see the other amazing cards the design team made using this sketch!  Happy creating!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #279

Happy Sunday!  The weekend is winding down and I was so blessed to have some fun crafty time this weekend!  I decided to play along with the fun sketch over at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Blog yesterday!
 Here is the fun sketch:

Here is the card I created using the sketch:
Supplies Used: Cardstock: black- Bazzill from the September FOTM ScrapRoom kit; Patterned Paper: Pretty Little Studio Savannah Dreams- from the September FOTM ScrapRoom kit; sticker: "Be Younique" Simple Stories Dream Big- from the September FOTM ScrapRoom kit; butterfly: Pretty Little Studio Savannah Dreams from the September FOTM ScrapRoom kit; Hello word: Pretty Little Studio Savannah Dreams from the September Embellishment kit at The ScrapRoom; journal card- source unknown from my stash; card base: CTMH- from my stash.
I absolutely love how this card turned out, the bright colors, the adorable butterfly and whimsical journal card all worked so well together and with this sketch!  This journal card is SUPER old, I don't even know where I got it.  I found it at the bottom of a drawer when I was cleaning and purging last month and stuck it in my BASHKET to try and use it up, so glad I did, it really adds a lot to this card!!  To learn more about my "BASHKET" which is a basket with old stash items I am trying to "bash" or use up, go HERE.  Make sure and hop over to the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Blog to see what other amazing projects the DT and participants have created with this fun sketch!  And to see the absolutely adorable September kit at The ScrapRoom visit the ScrapRoom store!  Happy creating friends!
