Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash February 2020 edition

I don't know about you but January just seemed to pass me by at a high rate of speed and I was kind of left in the dust wondering where the month had gone!!  I had fun with my kit last month, but am sad to say I was only able to create 3 cards and one layout using my January Stash Bash kit...not the results I had hoped for, but here we are in a new month and I have revamped my kit making process a bit to try and make myself more successful in February!  So let's kick the February 2020 edition of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash 2020 off.....................

For those who are new to the challenge here is how it works:
On the 1st of each month we will post a challenge prompt and the stash kit we have created following that prompt. During the month we will try to use as much of our stash kits as possible on different projects. Then, on the last day of the month, we will do a recap post showing what stash we were able to bash!
This will be a just-for-fun challenge so no monthly prize - but isn't the real prize using up our stash? You never know - if we still have a few unused stash items after a few months, then those items may just go into a giveaway. We hope you will join us in our quest to bash some stash in 2020. If you accept the challenge to play along - link up on either my blog or Lori's blog (or both if you choose) so that we can see who is joining us each month!
Now for our February challenge:
This month we will creating a kit with 10 papers (seven papers 3 years or older & three newer papers), 5-7 scrap papers, 4 embellishments (three that are 3 years or older & one newer one), and some ribbon or lace!!
Since this is a just for fun challenge the rules are not set in stone BUT we have them to help you focus on what really matters using your stash & to help spread the word of our fun challenge so others may join in!!  You know you have at least one friend who needs to use her stash!!
Here are the rules:
1. Follow the challenge prompt to create a kit to work with throughout the month. You may use other items, but please concentrate on using your kit.
2. Create new, not previously posted projects using your stash kit.
3. If you have a blog - please include the challenge graphic and a link to our challenge in your posts.
4. You may link to social media if you don't have a blog. If you share on Instagram, please make sure to use - #lisaandlorisgreatstashbash2020
Here is the kit I created using the February prompts:

Some close ups:
All my new & old papers together:

All my older papers:
My Papers are from the following lines: Echo Park Just Be You; Simple Stories Love & Adore; Shimelle (red words); My Mind's Eye Market Street & Chickadee Crafts.  Wow! These are some really old papers and yet they all coordinate well together!  As you can see I chose 8 papers instead of 7...I just couldn't eliminate one so I kept 8.
All my new papers:
These papers are from Dear Lizzy She's Magic; Pink Paislee Lucky Us & PinkFresh Studios Everyday Musings.
All my scraps:
As you can see I have more then 5-7 scrap pieces and a few of my scraps are almost whole pieces, however, my scrap pile is OUT OF CONTROL so I need to start really knocking it out!  I really think I can use these pieces to make embellishments or for cards.
All my embellishments & ribbon/lace I chose:
My older embellishments are from My Mind's Eye Market Day, Echo Park Just Be you & Simple Stories Love & Adore.  I also found 2 random project life cards in with the older papers that go well with the kit so I included them.  My new embellishments are the PhotoPlay Free Bird & Pink Fresh Studios Joyful Day embellishments. My lace is very old as is my ribbon a blue satin and pink gingham both by Stampin' Up.
As you can see instead of picking just an old collection this time I put together a bunch of papers some of which don't even work well together.  I figured I can work on Valentine's stuff with the one part of the kit and then random everyday layouts and projects with the other things.  I am hoping by keeping the kit less "themed" this go round I will be more successful in using up my kit!!  Fingers crossed!!
I hope you will be inspired to dig through your stash this month and play along with myself and Lori as we endeavor to bash some stash in 2020!!  If you chose to play along make sure and link up below, we'd love to see what you have put together for a kit & what you create with it!  Happy creating friends!

  1. Our household got very topsy-turvy in January so I didn't get to do any scrapbooking, just focused on cards for DT commitments. I saved your January image prompt hoping to participate but it just got hectic. I'll "endeavor to be more creative" in February and hopefully get time to put a stash kit together. :)

  2. Lisa - I love your kit! I could have a lot of fun putting it to use and I look forward to seeing your creations from it. I pulled more scraps this time, too. Not only do I need to get them under control, but it's much easier to use them for layers or for making embellishments than cutting into a full sheet and creating more leftovers! Here's to a good creative month!
