August 5th card sketch challenge @ Sketch N Scrap

Happy August!!  It's a new month, so that means a new card sketch to play along with! The first card sketch of the new month is up today at Sketch N Scrap!!

Supplies Used:  Cardstock: Stampin' Up Whisper White; Patterned Paper: Simple Stories Summer Snapshots, Simple Stories Sunny Days (orange dots); embossing folder: Stampin' Up; stickers:  Simple Stories Summer Snapshots, ephemera (flower):  Coco Vanilla Sunkissed; sentiment: Shimelle Main Character Energy.

I love the whimsical and brightly colored papers on this card.  I was able to use up some scraps from the layout I created earlier this week which is always nice.  I hope this card or this sketch have inspired you to get creative!!

August 1st sketch @ Sketch N Scrap

Happy Tuesday!   Sketch N Scrap launched a new sketch on August 1st created by yours truly!!  I had fun creating a fun layout using the sketch and my August Stash Bash kit!

Supplies Used:  Patterned Papers:  Simple Stories Summer Snapshots & Simple Stories Sunny Days (orange dot); stickers:  Simple Stories Summer Snapshots; ephemera: Simple Stories (ice cream cone); enamel dots: Simple Stories; cardstock: Bazzill. 

 I love how this layout turned out!  Sometimes it is hard to convert the 12 x 12 sketches into a 6 x 8 layout but this one was relatively easy. This is a picture of my granddaughter sporting her cool shades!!  I was so glad to be able to create a layout early in the month using my Stash Bash Kit for August!  You can see my kit HERE.  I hope you will find time to join us at Sketch N Scrap this month!!  We can't wait to see what you create!!

Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash Adventure ~ August 2026 edition

Happy August! It's a new month and time to launch another fun edition of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash Adventure! July was a busy month for me so I did not do as well using up my July kit as I had hoped. But that is the beauty of a new month, time to reset & start anew!!  So without further adieu let's kick off the August edition of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash 2026!!

Here is how our 2026 challenge works:

On the 1st of each month we will post a challenge prompt and the stash kit we have created using that prompt. During the month we will try to use as much of our stash kit as possible on different projects. Then, somewhere along the way we will do a recap post showing what stash we were able to bash!

This will be a just-for-fun challenge so there is no monthly prize - but isn't the real prize using up our stash?  We hope you will join us on our quest to bash some stash in 2026. If you accept the challenge to play along - link up on either my blog or Lori's Blog My Happy Life (or both if you choose) so that we can see who is joining us each month!

Now for our Stash Bash kit recipe for this month:

I am hoping to scrap a few of my Summer pictures using the fun Summer themed kit! 

The "A" sides of my papers:

All the patterned papers in this kit are from the Simple Stories Summer Snapshots collection.

The "B" sides of my papers:

Some really fun Summer patterns and beautiful Summer colors in these papers! 

My embellishments:

The cut apart paper, tags, stickers & ephemera are all from the Simple Stories Summer Snapshots collection

My alphas and stash bash item, washi tape:

My alphas are from American Crafts Thickers, Jillibean Soup (orange & yellow alphas) and Pretty Little Studios (blue alphas).  Wash tapes are all from unknow manufacturers. I have so much washi that I need to use so I am excited to put these washi tapes to good use!

Here are the rules for 2026:

Each month we will create a kit using the recipe (found above) of 3-5 patterned papers of any size (dig into your stash for new or old papers it's up to  you!), 2-3 embellishments, 2-3 pieces of cardstock, alphas and our stash bash item!  

This month's stash bash item is: washi tape

1. Follow the challenge prompt to create a kit to work with throughout the month. You may use other items, but try to concentrate on using your kit. 

2. Create new, not previously posted projects using your stash kit.

3. If you have a blog - please include the challenge graphic & a link to our challenge in your posts. 

4. You may link to social media if you don't have a blog. If you share on Instagram, please make sure to use - #lisaandlorisgreatstashbash2026

Since this is a just for fun challenge the rules are not set in stone BUT we have them to help you focus on what really matters using your stash!  We also hope you will help spread the word of our fun challenge so others may join in!!  You know you have at least one friend who needs to use her stash!!

July 20th throwback card sketch challenge @ Sketch N Scrap

TGIF!!  Summer seems to be flying by and the month is coming to a close but I was able to squeeze in one more challenge!!  Sketch N Scrap is having a throwback card challenge for the July 20th challenge and I thought I'd give it a go!

For this card I used throwback card sketch #173.  I love how fast this card came together using this sketch!  Sketches are such a great way to create a quick project, they take all the thinking out of it!!  I hope you will join us this month at Sketch N Scrap, make sure and check out what the DT did with this fun challenge and play along with us, we can't wait to see what you create!

I used my 6 x 8 paper pad to create this card.  I love these papers but have barely touched this paper pad for some reason!!  These papers are old, but definitely still favs!!

Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Adventure 2026 ~ July edition

All the papers are from the Echo Park's Good Day Sunshine collection. I love this fun color combo!

Truthfully I am not a fan of most of these papers except the floral one, so we shall see if I actually use the "B" sides of these papers

I have had these chipboard stickers for many years so I am hoping to finally use them up! These chipboard stickers are from Echo Park Good Day Sunshine collection. I have not bought any chipboard in a few years as I seem not to use them, so I am excited to try and use these!

June 20th throwback card sketch challenge @ Sketch N Scrap

HappySunday!!  I hope you are staying cool this Summer!!  The month is coming to a close but I was able to squeeze in one more challenge!!  Sketch N Scrap is having a throwback card challenge for the June 20th challenge and I thought I'd give it a go!

Supplies Used:  Patterned paper: Simple Stories The Little Things (plaid paper), Stampin' Up (script paper) & Simple Stories Bunnies & Blooms (pink floral paper);  cardstock:  Stampin' Up Garden Green, Basic Black & whisper white.  Stickers: Simple Stories The Little Things; enamel heart: Stampin' Up; embossing folder: Stampin' Up and dies: Stampin' Up stitched circle & CTMH thanks die.  

For this card I used throwback card sketch #195.  I love how fast this card came together using this sketch!  Sketches are such a great way to create a quick project, they take all the thinking out of it!!  All these papers were scraps in my desk drawer, so glad to use up some more scraps, so that I can keep closing my drawer, it's getting a bit full!!  I hope you will join us this month at Sketch N Scrap, make sure and check out what the DT did with this fun challenge and play along with us, we can't wait to see what you create!
