Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash Adventure 2023 ~ May edition!

Happy May!  I can't believe Summer is just around the corner!  It's a new month and that means it's time to launch another fun edition of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash Adventure! So without further adieu let's kick off the May 2023 edition of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash 2023!!

How our 2023 challenge works:
On the 1st of each month we will post a challenge prompt and the stash kit we have created using that prompt. During the month we will try to use as much of our stash kits as possible on different projects. Then, on the last day of the month, we will do a recap post showing what stash we were able to bash!  New in 2023: We will also be placing 10 things in our "bashket" each month.  This "bashket" is progressive meaning at the end of the month we will keep what is in our basket moving into the next month.  Our goal is to use up 10 things or 120 ITEMS from our stash by the end of the year!
Here is an explanation of how the "bashket" will work:

This challenge is a just-for-fun challenge so there is no monthly prize - but isn't the real prize using up our stash?  We hope you will join us in our quest to bash some stash in 2023. If you accept the challenge to play along - link up on either my blog or Lori's Blog (or both if you choose) so that we can see who is joining us each month!

Now for our "recipe" for May!

This month I once again made one large kit:
These papers are from Carta Bella Summer Market (lemon), Hip Kit Delightful (black stripe and dark pink), Crate Paper Gingham (green plaid), Crate Paper Sweet Story (strawberry, black/white swan, rainbow, & blue grid), Heidi Swapp Color Fresh (pink plaid), Simple Stories Vintage Life in Bloom (typewriter keys) and Jen Hadfield Hey Hello (bird/blue-green).

Here are the "B" sides of the papers:
I really like the hot air balloon paper!  I think the "B" sides show how fun the patterns are in this kit!  I had a hard time narrowing down my papers for this kit so as you can see I picked one extra paper because it was so hard to narrow it done to ten papers!

Here are the embellishments I have chosen:
The ephemera is from Crate Paper Sweet Story.  The puffy stickers are from Pink Fresh Studios Happy Blooms and Crate Paper Parasol and the butterflies are from Crate Paper Sweet Story.

Now for my stash bash items:
 Cut apart cards:
I just love cut apart cards!  I narrowed it done to 5 sheets here but I have MANY more I could have added! I may or may not have an addiction to these papers!

Now for my Project Life cards:
I love me a good "project life" card!! I have WAY to many of them!! More than I could ever use in one lifetime!  I hope to use most of these up this month, aren't they all pretty???!!!

Here are my scraps:
My scraps for this kit are pretty big, so I hope I can use them up!  They are from Echo Park Best Summer Ever (green stripe), Carta Bella Summer Market (floral), Pink Fresh Studios Happy Blooms (pink plaid) and Hip Kit Club Delightful (blue).

Now for my BASHKET items:
For this month I have picked a 12 x 12 sticker sheet from Simple Stories My Story (1), ephemera from The Hip Kit Club Delightful (2), stickers from Pink Fresh Everyday Musings (3), an envelope from Pink Fresh Happy Blooms (4),  epoxy butterfly from Crate Paper Parasol (5) and ephemera pieces (6-10) from Fancy Pants Honey and Bee collection.

Here are the rules for 2023:
Each month we will create a kit with 10 or more papers (dig into your stash for new or old papers it's up to  you!), 5-7 scrap papers (let's keep those scrap piles under control!), 3-4 embellishments (new or old- you decide), and a stash bash item!  This month's stash bash item is Project Life/cut apart cards!!!
1. Follow the challenge prompt to create a kit to work with throughout the month. You may use other items, but try to concentrate on using your kit.
2. Create new, not previously posted projects using your stash kit.
3. If you have a blog - please include the challenge graphic & a link to our challenge in your posts.
4. You may link to social media if you don't have a blog. If you share on Instagram, please make sure to use - #lisaandlorisgreatstashbash2023
Since this is a just for fun challenge the rules are not set in stone BUT we have them to help you focus on what really matters using your stash!  We also hope you will help spread the word of our fun challenge so others may join in!!  You know you have at least one friend who needs to use her stash!!

I am super excited to dig into my fun kit this month!! I hope you will join Lori and myself as we endeavor to bash some stash!  Remember if you play along make sure and use the hashtag #lisaandlorisgreatstashbash2023.  I can't wait to see your kit!  If you create a kit link up below to share with us all!!  Happy creating!!

Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash Adventure ~ April 2023 edition!

Happy April!  2023 is flying by!  Spring time has arrived here in Texas! I hope the weather is beautiful where you are too. A new month means it's time to launch another fun edition of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash Adventure! So without further adieu let's kick off the April 2023 edition of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash 2023!!

Now for our "recipe" for April!

Now for my April kit, this month I have just one large kit:
These papers are all from Simple Stories and all but one are from the collection Life Captured, the blue grid is from the Quarantined collection.
Now for the "B" sides of the papers:
I have an obsession with cut apart cards, so this collection was right up my alley!

Now for my embellishments:
I have the chipboard and 12 x 12 sticker sheet from the Life Captured Collection and 2 more sheets of cut apart cards.  I didn't like the "B" sides of these papers but bought them because I loved the cut apart cards!

My scraps:
These scraps are pretty generic as it was hard to match the orange and blues of my main papers.  The woodgrain is from Echo Park, the black grid is from Simple Stories and the blue plaid is from Pink Fresh Studios, but the other papers are one sided and I am not sure where they are from, but since they are thinner and one sided I think they are pretty old!

Now for my stash bash item-flowers:
I hardly ever buy flowers anymore and these flowers are pretty old as the bottom 2 are from Sassafrass Lass and the one on the top left is from Basic Grey.  The Dear Lizzy flowers on the top right I got in a kit.  I will be glad to use these up as I have a lot of flowers but rarely use them!

Now for my April Bashket items:
I ended up just picking some random items that I felt matched the color scheme of this month's kit.  I have the sticker sheet from Simple Stories, the enamel dots are from The Hip Kit Club, the tag is from Fancy Pants, the cat sticker is from Amy Tangerine and the pencil is from Cosmo Cricket!  The cards, butterfly, owl and bird are so old I don't even know where I got them from lol!

This month's stash bash item is flowers!!!
1. Follow the challenge prompt to create a kit to work with throughout the month. You may use other items, but try to concentrate on using your kit.
2. Create new, not previously posted projects using your stash kit.

Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash Adventure ~ March 2023!

Happy March!  2023 is flying by!  Spring time seems to be starting here in Texas, we have had some beautiful days making it hard to stay inside! I hope the weather is beautiful where you are too. A new month means it's time to launch another fun edition of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash Adventure! So without further adieu let's kick off the February 2023 edition of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash 2023!!

Now for our "recipe" for March!

This month I have picked 2 "mini" kits.  Here is my first kit:

This kit features primarily papers & embellishments from the Cocoa Vanilla These Days collection.  I have used a lot of the papers from this collection but I forgot I had also purchased the embellishments- who does that?  So when I found them recently I decided I needed to use them for this month's kit!

The "A" side of the papers:

The "B" sides of the papers:

Now for my second "mini" kit:
I have been trying to use up my hoard of CTMH papers in the past few months and since I have a brand new sweet granddaughter to scrap I decided to make a kit using the papers and embellishments from the CTMH Sweet Girl collection!

The "A" side of the papers (the colors are very light and don't photograph well):

The "B" side of the papers:

This is a close up of the embellishments from both my kits:
Embellishments are from the CTM Sweet Girl collection (cut apart sheet & 2 sticker sheets in the upper right corner) and the Cocoa Vanilla These Days collection

Close up of my scraps & this months STASH BASH ITEM- ENAMEL DOTS:
As you can see I have an eclectic mix of enamel dots from Teresa Collins (these are really old!), Fancy Pants, Pink Fresh Studios, Carta Bella & Prima.  I have hoarded these Prima crystals for awhile because they are so pretty but it's time to use them up!  My storage bin of enamel dots is overflowing so I need to make a dent in it so I can buy more!  Enamel dots are one of my favorite things to buy (and hoard!)!!!  My scraps are from CTMH & Stampin' Up.

My bashket items for March:
It's just March and already my bashket is full because I have been neglecting it!  This month I kept it a bit more simple so I have a better chance of using up some of these items.  The 2 stickers sheets are from Simple Stories and are all that I have left of this collection. I have also included a pack of ephemera that is almost gone from the Pink Fresh collection Joyful Day collection.  Then I added a Doodle Pop sticker from Doodlebug Designs as I have a full bin of these as well.  The ephemera pieces are I believe from the Maggie Holmes Sweet Story line and have been on my desk for at least a year in a little jar as I pulled them out to use on a project that I never completed (I know gasp!).  So I hope to make a big dent in these 10 items this month otherwise I may have to get a bigger Bashket in April!!!

This month's stash bash item is enamel dots/bling!!

Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash 2023 ~ February edition

Happy February! I hope your 2023 is off to a good start!  It's a new month so that means it's time for a new edition of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash Adventure!  I am so sorry for the delay in posting, life as they say always has a way of throwing us curve balls and this past month I had the BEST EVER curve ball thrown at me, I become a grandmother for the first time!!  Here is a picture of my sweet little granddaughter Violet:
Violet was born 7 weeks early but both Mom & baby are doing well and I am happy to report Violet is now home after spending a few weeks in the NICU.  So as you can I have been a bit busy feeding, bathing and just cuddling my sweet little girl!

Now it's time to get on with the show as they say!  So without further adieu let's kick off the February 2023 edition of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash!!

For our 2023 challenge here is how it works:

This will be a just-for-fun challenge so there is no monthly prize - but isn't the real prize using up our stash?  We hope you will join us in our quest to bash some stash in 2023. If you accept the challenge to play along - link up on either my blog or Lori's Blog (or both if you choose) so that we can see who is joining us each month!

This month I decided to pick just ONE large kit!  Here are the "A" side of my 10 papers:

This is a mixture of some Doodlebug Designs Lots of Love & My Happy Place papers with one CTMH paper (grid) thrown in!

Now for the "B" sides of my papers:

A few of these papers are a bit busy for me but who knows I may end of using some of them!
Now for my scraps:

These scraps are mix of Doodlebug Designs, Simple Stories and CTMH.  I love this color palette!

Now for my embellishments:
I added in some Pebbles Baby Girl ephemera I had left over as well as some enamel hearts from Illustrated Faith, Ephemera and stickers from Doodlebug Designs My Happy Place and some super fun Red Thicker Alphas!

Now for my stash bash item stickers:
These fun stickers are an eclectic collection!  The bottom stickers I bought at Hobby Lobby last year on 90% off clearance and the other sticker sheets are from Echo Park!

Now for my bashket items:
I'm hoping to make a few Valentine's Day cards and thought these stickers would be perfect!  All the sticker sheets are left overs from collections I have very few papers left.  The bottom sticker sheet by Crate Paper Wonder is SUPER old and I got it at Tuesday Morning many moons ago!  I am down to my last few wood veneer hearts and hope to use them up this year!  The fun ephemera from Pebbles will be make some cute layouts or cards and the enamel hearts from Pink Paislee will be a great addition to add sparkle to my cards or layouts!

This month's stash bash item is wood veneers!!

Happy Weekend!  I'm working my way through a stack of layouts I didn't show you in 2022 on my blog due to the death of my father.  I did post on social media but I also want them to have a place here on my blog!  So bear with me while I catch up!  Today I am sharing a fun layout I created using the July 2022 Flavors of the Month Kit at The ScrapRoom!  It features the super fun Doodlebug Designs My Happy Place collection!  Here it is:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Doodlebug Designs My Happy Place; ephemera: Doodlebug Designs My Happy Place; Puff hearts: Doodlebug Designs

Is there anyone who doesn't just love the whimsical fun collections that Doodlebug Designs puts out?  I have them loved them since I started scrapbooking!  My sister's cat Chester loves to pose and so I was able to get some adorable photos of him lounging on his favorite chair and I thought they were the perfect photos for this fun collection fittingly called "My Happy Place"!  What is your favorite Doodlebug line?  I'd love to know so drop it in the comments!  Happy creating!

TGIF!!

TGIF!!  As I was looking at some past sketches I have created trying to find one to use on a layout I need to create this weekend I came across this one I created for The ScrapRoom's March 2021 Jumpstart sketch.  I loved this sketch so much and realized that I never shared it here on my blog!  So here it is:

Here is the layout I created with the sketch using the March 2021 Flavors of the Month Kit at The ScrapRoom:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Pretty Little Studio Miss Sadie Rose; ephemera: Pretty Little Studio Miss Sadie Rose.

I love this paper collection!  The color palette is so soft and soothing, just perfect for this photo of my friend's sweet granddaughter!  I really love the black and white florals, they just lend a pop of black and white to give the perfect accent for this page don't you think?  I hope your weekend is full of creative fun!  If you created something using this gorgeous collection make sure and share it here in the comments!  Happy creating!
