The ScrapRoom ~ August Doubleshot Kit

Good morning!!!  I am super excited to share two of my layouts today that I created using the ScrapRoom Doubleshot kit for August!  This kit was SOOO fun to work with!  Here is the kit:

Here are my layouts created using the Echo Park Under the Sea part of the kit:
Supplies Used:  Cardstock: Blue from kit, red and yellow from my stash (Stampin' Up); Patterned Paper: Echo Park Under the Sea from kit; Stickers: Echo Park under the Sea (from the kit); enamel dots: My Minds Eye (from my stash) & yellow twine Lawn Fawn from my stash
Supplies used:  Cardstock: Red from the kit and Yellow by Stampin' Up from my stash; Patterned Paper: Echo Park under the Sea from the kit; Stickers: Echo Park Under the Sea from the kit; enamel dots: My Minds Eye from my stash.

These picture of my niece and nephew at the beach in Pensacola Florida were perfect for these papers! I love that these papers and stickers are so fun and so bright!! So fun to work with!! Plus you receive an ENTIRE sheet of stickers to work with, how amazing is that????   I have plenty left over to make at least another 2-3 layouts!! Wow! And this is just half of the kit, the other part of the kit is Fancy Pants Hello Sunshine and is super fabulous as well!  I will be back in a few days to show you the layout I created from that part of the kit!  If you are looking for a super kit club make sure and stop by The ScrapRoom store, there are several kits to chose from to meet everyone's needs and satisfy any taste!  The best part is the store has lots of incredible goodies as well and if you order extras from the store they ship free with your kit each month!  WOW!!  I hope you will stop by The ScrapRoom blog and see what the other members of the DT came up with using the wonderful August kits!!! Happy creating!

Fun with challenges!

My niece was at it again today!  I think we may have created a monster lol! She has decided she loves to participate in all the fun challenge blogs there are out there!  I think she and I agree on one thing, there is not enough hours in the day to create and play!  Here is her first ever scrapbook layout:
She did this entirely on her own, the only thing I helped with was to explain how to use a sketch and how to use the tape runner.  She did have a newbie scrappers mishap when she accidentally applied the tape runner to the wrong side of the paper!  But I know I still do that on occasion!  She is a whiz at cutting paper and measuring before she cuts so I think she makes an awesome scrapbooker!  Given that she is only 9 years old I think she will just get better and better as she practices!  This layout was made using the sketch at Sketch N Scrap for August 1st.  She is also entering into the challenge at Lasting Memories Layout challenge blog for challenge #356: In the House.  The challenge is to make a layout about a in house pet or animal and she is using picture of her and her cat Mack!  I think she did an awesome job with the challenge and sketch don't you?  She is an animal lover so I think this challenge was right up her alley!

Next up is her card she created for her Gram using the sketch at  Clean & Simple Stamping using sketch #27

Here is her card using the sketch:

Once again very little to no help from me, she did need help with the embossing folder and the punch for the scallop but other then that it was all her ideas and stamping!  I thought she did a spectacular job on stamping the sentiment!  Today we learned how to color an image using markers, she likes that technique as she loves to color!
Katie would like to thank everyone for looking at her projects today!  Thanks for stopping by!

Stick It Down ~ I love cats!

We spent the day making cards today!  We had a lot of fun playing around with different sketches and even creating a few cards of our own design!  Today my niece Katie decided she wanted to get in on the fun and enter a challenge or two.  She was able to complete one card for the Stick it Down challenge!  Here is the August card sketch from Stick it Down:
Here is Katie's card:

Here she is all smiles with her completed project!

Katie is just 9 years old and this is her first time to use a sketch!  I think she did a great job don't you?  I think we have a budding sketch challenge junkie on our hands!  Tomorrow we are tackling a layout sketch!  Have a great weekend and happy creating!

Double-shot Kit~ Photo Play Summer Bucket List!

I am excited to share my second layout I made with the July Double-Shot kit from The ScrapRoom!  This one is a double pager and uses the Photo Play Summer Bucket List kit! I just loved this line, this is my first time to use a line by Photo Play and I have to say it won't be my last!!  Here is the amazing Double-shot July kit:

Here is my layout using the Photo Play Summer Bucket List kit:

Supplies Used: FROM KIT: Yellow card stock, white card stock; Patterned Paper- Photo Play Summer Bucket List; Stickers: Summer Bucket List by Photo Play; FROM MY STASH: enamel dots; blue card stock; embossing folder

I had fun using awesome pictures of my BFF and her family having fun this past June.  I don't do a lot of double pagers but when I do I like to use a lot of different sized photos for interest.  Here are a few close ups of the layout:
I added extra hearts from the sticker sheet to the 4 x 6 cut apart card and then popped up the sun and ferris wheel stickers to give added dimension.  I also embossed the yellow circle to give more texture.

I love the addition of enamel dots to all my layouts, it really dresses up your embellishment clusters!

I hope you will check out all the layouts created using this kit and the Flavors of the Month kit for July, they did an outstanding job with the kits!  Check back next week when I share my other layout and the cards I made with this amazing kit.  To purchase yours make sure and visit The ScrapRom store!

July Doubleshot kit - Simple Stories Domestic Bliss

Hello!  I am so excited to share with you my first reveal as a design team member of the ScrapRoom Kit Club!   I was blessed to be able to work with the Double-shot Kit Club for July.  This is an amazing kit!  Here is peek at the kit:

Here is my layout using the Simple Stories Domestic Bliss line:

Supplies Used: FROM THE KIT: White cardstock- American Crafts; Patterned Paper- Simple Stories Domestic Bliss; Simple Stories Bits N Pieces; Simple Stories Stickers (broom, oven mitt, washer, grocery cart & laundry basket)  FROM MY STASH: button - Stampin' Up, rhinestone- Queen & Co; letter stickers- Doodlebug & Echo Park

I just love these pictures of my son when he was younger! What a helper he was back then and how time flies!  Now it is like pulling teeth to get him to do a simple chore or help out around the house!!! I am going to have to show him these pictures of his little domestic self once he gets his own place and remind him of his love of cooking, cleaning and ironing!   I added a bunch of journaling on the back, I had so much to say that I didn't have room on the layout.  Don't you love this line? I had such a great time playing with it! I could think of a lot of ideas for it: house renovation pictures, new appliances, everyday life; cooking, layout about a favorite recipe, the sky is the limit!  And if you don't want to be so themed with this line it would be a perfect line for just regular photos about your family or kids! The small stickers and bits 'n pieces are great for your planner as well!   I know you will love this kit as much as I did!  To purchase yours make sure and visit The ScrapRoom Store today!  I will be back later in the week to show you the rest of the my creations using this fun kit!  Make sure and visit the Scrap Room blog or the Scrap Room store to check out what the other DT members did with the amazing kits!!
