Sketch N Scrap #35 & a winner!

Can you believe we are half way through June already? I can't! Before I know it the summer will be over, I need to get going on my summer bucket list!  Today we have another fun sketch for you over a Sketch N Scrap!  Here is the sketch by Brenshevia:

And here is my layout using the sketch:
Supplies Used: Patterned papers: Cosmo Cricket Dutch Girl; alphabets: Paper Trunk(white & green),
Doodlebug (black), Fancy Pants (yellow); Sticker: Basic Grey Bowties line; border punch: Stampin Up.

I have had these pictures of my sweet little nephew sitting on my desk for over a year now waiting for the right inspiration for them...I finally found it in that cute little bug sticker I purchased with the Basic Grey Bowtie line over the weekend at the Great American Scrapbook Convention! Weird thing was I wanted to use up these papers from an old kit I have had since 2007 and the scraps left were perfect for this sketch and the sticker actually matched...LOVE IT when things come together like that! lol!  I am now down to scraps for this kit and hope to make a few cards t finish it up over the weekend.

Now a moment you have all been waiting for!  Thanks to everyone who participated in my KIT SEQUEL and SKETCH WITH A TWIST birthday bash challenges for Sketch N Scrap's birthday bash!  We had a total of 14 entries!  The randomly selected winner for the Webster's pages washi tape is..........................
Congrats Lori, please email me at sketchnscrap@gmail.com with your address and I will have your washi tape shipped out to you next week.   If you are still looking for more challenges, hop on over to Sketch N Scrap, there is still plenty of time left to play along with our three current sketches!  Plus you won't want to miss all the wonderful inspiration our DT has for you!  Have a scrappy weekend!

Sketch 70 ~ My Best Friend Forever

Happy Monday and Happy First Day of summer! Sure feels like the first day of summer here in Texas LOL! This layout was made using my recent photos of our trip to see my newest nephew in Nebraska! Isn't he a QT? This is my son holding him! I used my SUPER FUN June kit from It's Scraptacular! This kit was filled to the brim with Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety and the new Pebbles Treehouse line! Super bright, cheery and perfect for you summer photos! Letter stickers were the only thing not in the kit and they are from October Afternoon. We had an awesome time croppin' on Saturday! I met some great ladies and can't wait to crop with them again. I got a lot done and am planning on attending again in July on the 17th! The registration should be opening soon at Scrapbooks on the Go, hope to see you there!

Sketch 58

Sketch 58 is up at The Scrappiest! It was a fun sketch to play with, and as you can see I did a flip with it to accomodate my vertical picture! I used Cosmo Cricket Joy Ride papers and chipboard from the Cosmo Cricket Boyfriend line on this layout. These two lines coordinate well I think. I love the versatility of Cosmo Cricket papers allowing you to "mix and match" them on your layouts! I loved this Joy Ride line, but was afraid to purchase it as I really had no "travel" or "road trip" pictures that needed scrapping. I am SOOOO glad I got it though, cuz as you can see these papers are super versatile and look great on this sports themed page! I hope you will play along with us at The Scrappiest this week, don't forget up for grabs this month is an awesome prize of $20 of STASH CASH...so what are you waiting for????

Gotta Love the Boyfriend & Cosmo Cricket!

Howdy Cosmo Cricket fans! My all time fav Cosmo line (so far that is) is the Boyfriend line. Personalscrapper had a challenge to use at least NINE squares on a layout for one of the Winter Wonderland Crop challenges and this is the layout I came up with using the Cosmo Cricket Boyfriend line. I am so happy with how it turned out. I usually don't like layout with only small pics, but I think this one is one of my all time fav layouts I have made. I just love these pics of my son from last Labor Day. And now we have a sneaky peaky of the new lines Cosmo Cricket is releasing soon, and they are spectacular! My fav is JOY RIDE, but I really like them all! Plus they are introducing this awesome lush embossed cardstock as well as some yummy chipboard letters and the thing I am most excited about BUTTONS! You can check them out here....just a warning before you click though...it may be detrimental to your wallet! Happy Hump Day everyone!

Nutmeg Love

Here is my first of many layouts using the Nutmeg line by Cosmo Cricket. This layout is based on sketch #46 from 52 sketches. I also used this layout for one of the challenges for the online crop at Personalscrapper which was to use a die cut or handmade accent on your page. I used these leaf die cuts that I got from a CM party way back in 1997, LOL! I really like the way this turned out. The "J" sticker is from one of those sticker books from Cosmo Cricket (the Christmas one I think) and as you can see the colors are almost a perfect match, which was fun find. I have had that sticker book forever as well, and it is almost used up. I am off to the Cowboys game right now, pictures to follow. So go Cowboys you gotta win if I am coming to watch you in person! LOL! Too bad I won't be able to use my Nutmeg to scrap my game pics...now that would be a challenge, anyone game enough to take me up on it??? Happy Sunday everyone!

Here comes the sun....

Well, FINALLY, I have some sunlight to take pics of my layout! I thought I would never see the sun again! LOL! This layout was created from sketch #42 at 52 sketches 52 weeks. I used Cosmo Cricket's Boyfriend line stickers and papers for this SIMPLE yet fun layout. I flipped the sketch as you can tell, to better accomodate my larger photos. These photos were taken in June while we were vacationing at Universal Studios. I am fast at work on sketch #43 and should have it done and ready to post tomorrow, so check back for that, and if you have time why don't you participate yourself in this week's sketch, I'd love to see it and even better you will be entered to win a FABULOUS kit by Work in Progress..it is lovely and I am keepin' my fingers crossed, I'd love to win this awesome kit! Good luck and if you enter leave a comment with a link to your layout so we can all view your wondrous work!

Sketch #39

Another week almost come and gone! WOW! We have been super busy here getting ready to go out of town for our annual Fall trip. It is going to be a cold one this year, we may actually get to see snow folks! It's gonna feel more like winter than Fall! Before I head out I wanted to share with you my take on sketch #39 over at 52 sketches. This is a fun picture of my son and nephew at my birthday dinner last year. It was a perfect pic for the Cosmo Cricket Boyfriend line. I am loving this line, the colors and everything about it are so 80's! It is a lot of fun and I can't wait to play with it again! If you haven't already picked yourself up some, you are really missing out. This sketch was so super easy to work with, it helped me make this layout in record time. I also used this layout for my challenge over at Personalscrapper for our CROPTOBERFEST LOAD (layout a day). Each day members take turn posting challenges. SO if you are at a loss as to what to scrap for that particular day, no worries, you will have lots of inspiration to jump start those creative juices! My challenge was on October 2nd and so I did a DOUBLE challenge. For my challenge you were to use doubles somewhere on the layout(s), like the word "double" in my title, 2 boys in my picture, etc. You could do a double page layout, anything really goes. The layouts done so far for this challenge have been super and a lot of fun! Well, off to pack...my least favorite part of traveling, but I don't want to freeze, so I've got to go pull out some of my winter stuff...well, as winterish as we Texans get I might add! LOL! Check back for my Friday's featured blogger, you're gonna love it!

Goodbye waterpark

Well, its goodbye waterpark, until next year that is. We won't be going back until then :o( Today was a beautiful day and not to awful hot, but that really made the water feel cold, usually its like warm bathwater, but not today, you get in and feel like turning around and running back out! The boys really enjoyed themselves, as the park was not busy at all at 10am when we got there, so they were able to ride all the slides a number of times without a wait, which was nice, cuz sometimes when we go there is only enough time to ride one or two and then its time to go home! As you can see Ryan really doesn't mind getting a bit sandy and he is a great poser (love him posing for me in the inner tube!) But my fav pic of those two goofballs was them working together to get there tube to the top of like 5 flights of steps for the Purple Palooza ride, usually I carry it for them, but today when they asked if they could got up I told them "if you are big enough to carry your tube" and then I let them work out the logistics of it, and this is what they came up with! How funny, I wish you could have seen them going up the steps like that! Almost everyone in the park was laughing at them (but really I think they might have been laughing at them arguing about who was carrying the most!) I also wanted to share a fun layout I made this week from my most fav picture I got last time we went to the waterpark. Papers are from Cosmo cricket's snorkel line. I called it "THE WAVE" because as the journaling states, Jakob was not into his Mom taking a bunch of pictures of him, but I kept my camera out and ready for just the right shot and when he came up from under the water one time I called out his name and he waved at me, BEFORE he realized I had my camera. I love this shot, it turned out just how I wanted so I was then able to put up the camera and stop torturing the poor boy! Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. Have a good one!

The alphabet challenge

I know its pretty pathetic, but I seem to get more done much quicker when I am working on a challenge. Challenge #15 in the Pay it Forward Crop at Personalscrapper was to use at least 3 alphas on your page. I decided to use my new blog candy I just received from one of my most favorite manufacturers Cosmo Cricket, Early Bird. Still can't believe I won that! The whole kit and kaboodle folks, the folks over at Cosmo are SOOOOOO generous, they are alwasy having give aways! I used this photo of my son and my niece taken in the front yard on July 4th. She refused to hold my hand when I told her "Hold hands" cuz she was trying to run off to the park, and she shook her head "NO" vigorously and then said "Cakie" and grabbed Jake's hand (she calls him Cakie) How cute is that? So I quickly snapped this photo, it is so sweet and PERFECT for this Early Bird paper! I also used a Pink Paislee die cut accent, Making Memories puffy and tiny stickers, Adornit tiny stickers AND Jenni Bowlin chalkboard alphabet stickers on this page. The other accents were cut out by hand and the "DONT FORGET" little tab was cut off a journal jotter from My Minds Eye (you can barely see it in the upper left hand of the pic). The other journaling jotter is from the Noteworthy journal book by Making Memories. I also used one of the Page Maps sketches by Becky Fleck for this layout as well. I really LOVE all of the sketches this month and hope to use them all at some time before next month's come out! Before I close, I would like to give a shout out to my personalshopper Janelle! Yes, I have a personal shopper (didn't you know I was famous and too important to be bothered shopping for myself?)...no really, since we don't have an Archiver's here my good long time pal Janelle takes my order and gets my goodies when she stops by Archivers and ships it to me from Kansas City! Now that's a good friend huh? And NO you cannot have her number! HA! Hoping to take a few minutes to create something with my new goodies that arrived today so check back soon!

Check this out!

I was blog hopping and happened upon this AWESOME yumminess at the Cosmo Cricket blog! It is a sneak peak of their new release due out May 1st called EARLY BIRD! I LOVE it, but the again, when don't I love a line by Cosmo Cricket? You can see the entire line at their blog at http://www.cosmocricket.typepad.com I MUST have this line, I now have a new fav line (my old fav was Mr Campy). Isn't that spin the bottle spinner embellishment the cutest thing? I have no ideas for it,but I think its cute LOL! Julie has an awesome page she made using this line on her blog as well, stop by and then let me know what you think, will you or won't you buy it? Sorry no layout today, I have 2 almost done and will try to share them with you in a day or so!

I've been a big slacker!

I've been slacking off lately, sleeping in this weekend, watching more TV then I normally do, nothing big going on to keep me from scrapbooking except for some reason I couldn't get motivated to get off the couch! I'm gonna blame it on the cooler weather, which made me want to snuggle up with my kitty Molly and stay in my warm bed reading or watching TV! But I'm back today with another double pager! I got 6 pictures on this layout. These are pictures from an overnight campout at Papa's house last week. Pretty good for me to scrap an event within a week...but I had bought these cute Cosmo Cricket papers and stickers and wanted to use them. The flower, square and line accent are felt by Fancy Pants - love that look, but anyone have any ideas how to adhere it down so it sticks well? I tried glue dots, but that didn't work and ended up using Crystal Effects by Stampin Up, but even that though it worked didn't really stick very well. So I will try something else next time out. This layout was inspired by a sketch by Valerie Salmon at Got sketch?. It is sketch #30 for those who want to check it out: http://gotsketch.blogspot.com/ Just scroll down to the end of the first page and you will be able to search for sketches based on # of pics- fast, easy and very versatile. I LOVE her sketches. I plan on taking her next class Got Sketch 103 when it opens next year. Got Sketch 102 was great, sorry I missed 101! I plan on spending the rest of the day watching football with my son and if I'm not too tired finishing up another layout I am working on, so check back again tomorrow...I am trying to play catch up on my LOAD (layout a day) contest at Personalscrapper! Wish me luck :o)
