Sketch N Scrap card sketch #148

TGIF!!  Are you excited for the weekend? I'm looking forward to spending time with family and friends and also getting into my craft space to work on some projects that I have need to finish.  Yesterday we debuted our last card sketch of the month at Sketch N Scrap.  Here is the sketch I created:

Here is the card I created with it:
Supplies Used: Card stock: White & Black- CTMH; Patterned Paper: Simple Stories Oh Happy Day & Pretty Little Studio Savannah Dreams; stickers: Simple Stories Oh Happy Day & KI memories ( orange square); enamel dot: My Mind's Eye
I dug into my scrap pile and Bashket for this card!! The orange scallop square sticker is from KI Memories and has been in my stash for YEARS & in my Bashket for months now! So glad to finally find a way to use it because it was to cute to throw out but it just never went with anything I was working on at the moment!!!  This card is super simple and easy and you can use this sketch multiple times to create a different looking card each time, it's a great way to use up your scraps!! I hope this sketch inspire you to create a card for a friend today!  Make sure and visit the Sketch N Scrap blog to see what other amazing cards the DT came up with!  Happy creating!

Paper House Explore your world travel line

Good morning friends and fellow crafters!!  Today I am showing a fun layout I made using the Explore your World travel line from Paper House Productions!!  Here is my layout
Supplies Used: Suitcases Double Sided Paper (Background); Explore Your World Map Double Sided Paper; Luggage Tags Double Sided Paper; Passport Stamps Double Sided Paper; Around the World 3D stickers; Let’s Explore Cardstock stickers; Around the World Puffy Stickers

I love the puffy stickers and 3D stickers from this line!  Puffy stickers and 3D stickers give so much added dimension to my layouts, they are some of my favorite products to work with! As you can see I used a combination of 3D stickers and puffy stickers for my lower embellishment cluster and a fun cluster of puffy stickers and enamel dots in the upper right of my layout. Here is a close up of the bottom embellishment cluster:

My most favorite little trick for adding a title to my layout is to use a quote or word sticker, it saves you time in lining up alphabet letters for your title!! This cardstock sticker from the Let’s Explore Cardstock stickers set was perfect for my title, making a title was never so easy and yet it is so impactful! I used foam tape to pop the quote sticker off the page to give it added dimension and make the title stand out more. Here is a close up:
The papers from the Explore Your World line work  well with any type of travel destination! I used pictures from my friend's trip to the Netherlands but of course I think any type of destination whether far away or close by could be documented using this line! Enjoy documenting your next trip with the fun and versatile Explore Your World line! Happy Trails and happy creating!

June Flavors of the Month kit~ Jillibean Soup Rainbow Roux!

Good evening!! Today I am sharing my fun double page layout using the June Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom!!  Here is a reminder of the kit:
Here is the Jillibean Soup Rainbow Roux kit I used for my layout:

Here is my layout using this amazing kit:
Supplies Used: Card stock: teal from the kit; Patterned Paper: Jillibean Soup Rainbow Roux- from the kit; ephemera: Jillibean Soup Rainbow Roux- from the kit; letter stickers: Paper Studio - from my stash; washi tape- Jillibean Soup Rainbow Roux-from the kit;
I love how this layout turned out! I thought the beautiful patterns and bright colors were perfect to document my friend's daughters' award ceremony this past May! I made my own journal box on the computer and added a strip of paper with a small ephemera cloud and then a cute rainbow square from the washi tape assortment included in the kit.  I also made my own decorative project life card to use as an embellishment.  I used a strip of the included washi tape and some word strips and ephemera to create it.  One of the word strips was cut from the included rainbow paper! To see what the other DT members did with the amazing June Flavors of the Month kit make sure and check out this ScrapRoom blog post!!  Happy creating!!

Jumpstart Sketch with The June Flavors of the Month kit

Happy Hump Day crafty friends!! Today I am sharing a layout I created using the June Jumpstart Sketch at The ScrapRoom!  Here the sketch we are working with this month:

Here is my layout using this super fun multi-photo sketch:

Supplies Used: cardstock- white from the kit & Pool Party - Stampin' Up (frame); Pattern Paper: Echo Park Best Summer Ever- from the kit; stickers: Echo Park Best Summer Ever- from the kit; frame die: Stampin' Up; enamel dots: My Mind's Eye
I loved these pictures of my nephew at the splash pad near his house a few Summer's ago!  I know this line has a lot of pink, but truthfully I think it looks great with boy pictures! These fun shades of ice cream pink, yellow & blue just scream Summer and the amazing 12 x 12 sticker sheet included in this kit is SUPER fun and gives you TONS of embellishments for your projects!! This sketch is one I know I will use over & over again as it allows you to easily include 4 photos on a one page spread!!! How great is that?  Make sure and head over to the ScrapRoom blog to check out what the other DT members have done with this sketch & this kit!  Happy creating!

New monthly challenge group for Sketch N Scrap!!

Good evening crafty friends!! Today I am sharing with you a fun layout I created for Sketch N Scrap's NEW monthly challenge group on Facebook.  This group will replace our monthly online "crops" and is a closed group that will allow us to host 3-4 more monthly challenges on Facebook in addition to our normal 4 blog challenges!! The group is a closed one so you must request to join.  Here is my challenge for June: Create a layout using Sketch #160 with the optional twist of using this recipe: kraft paper, word strips, flowers & enamel dots/gems on your layout.  Here is Sketch #160:

Here is my layout created using this sketch:
Supplies Used: Cardstock: Kraft, Olive & Black- Bazzill; Patterned Paper: Carta Bella It's A Girl; Stickers: Carta Bella It's a Girl; enamel dots: My Mind's Eye; Thickers: Pebbles Inc Girl Squad
I loved these pictures of my friend's little sweet granddaughter!! I substituted 2 larger horizontal photos in the space of the 4 smaller photos to accommodate my photo's orientation and size.  I thought these papers perfectly matched her adorable outfit and the kraft paper seemed to bring out colors beautifully!! I just love kraft paper but don't use it near enough on my layouts!! I hope you will find time to play along with us in our NEW group on Facebook!!  You can request to join HERE.  Our Sketch N Scrap Facebook challenges will start on the SECOND Saturday of each month and you will have until the last day of the month at midnight CST to play along!!  Happy creating!!

Wow! What a lot of things just mish mashed together on this spread but I love how it turned out! We had so much fun when we went to see Hamilton in Fair Park last month, it was truly a once in a lifetime experience!  If you are able to go make sure and do so, you will not regret the big ticket prices I promise!! Such talent and fun music!  I used one of the song titles as my subtitle for my spread, I just printed it on the computer to make my own tag. This was one of my favorite songs from the musical!  It really can be related back to storytelling and memory keeping...here is just a snippet:  And when you're gone, who remembers your name?  Who keeps your flame? Who tells your story?
For my letters to spell out the word HOT I used: HEARTS (multiple); ORANGE butterfly & ORANGE striped paper; and TAG (butterfly sticker tag on the journal card) & TAB above my picture!!  It was so fun trying to come up with things to use with those letters! I must admit I did get some help from my pal Lori for one of the items!! lol!

National Best Friends Day with Paper House Productions!

Today is National Best Friends Day! Time to celebrate your BFF and that amazing bond you both share! My BFF loves to read and so I thought I would wrap up a book by her favorite author and gift it to her to celebrate National Best Friends Day! While she isn’t crafty she does enjoy handmade things, so I used some washi tape and faux enamel stickers to dress up the wrapped package.

Supplies Used: Butterflies Washi Tape Set; butterflies faux enamel stickers

I love to recycle plain paper bags as gift wrap. The gold glimmer of the faux enamel stickers is the perfect way to dress up this rather plain choice of gift wrap!! I started by adding a strip of the butterflies washi tape the long and short way across the middle of the package. I then added a strip of the thin turquoise washi on either sides of these strips. This washi set also has pops of gold in it, giving my package even more shine and shimmer! I then added a doily to disguise where the washi tape runs together. I added a button threaded with gold thread to accentuate the gold even more on top of the doily. As a a finishing touch I added one faux enamel butterfly sticker in the upper right and lower left corners of the package. What an easy peasy gift using your craft supplies and an old paper bag!
Here is a close up of the package:
I also used the same supplies to make a little card in which to write a note letting my BFF know how special she is to me:
I chose to make a smaller card (4 1/4 x 4 1/4). I added a strip of washi to the bottom of the embossed white cardstock panel. Then I heat embossed the sentiment in gold to accentuate those beautiful gold accents. And for a finishing touch I added another faux enamel butterfly sticker. This card is quick and easy but oh so pretty! You could easily mass produce it if you have multiple friends you wish to make a card for. The next time you need to wrap a gift or make a card make sure and consider using some of your crafty supplies to do so! Everyone loves a handmade gift, card or packaging! It makes them feel so special knowing the effort you put into making their gift extra special!

June Flavors of the Month kit ~ Pink Paislee Horizon

TGIF!!  Are you ready for the weekend?  I am attending the Great American Scrapbook Convention with friends tomorrow then hoping to spend the evening cropping at home!  Today I am sharing another layout using the June Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom.  Here is the full kit:
Here is the Pink Paislee Horizon mini kit my layout is based on:
Here is my layout using this bright and colorful kit:
Supplies Used: cardstock: white- from the kit; Patterned Paper: Pink Paislee Horizon- from the kit; stickers: Pink Pasilee Horizon- from the kit; ephemera: Pink Paislee Horizon- from the embellishment kit; Thickers (title)- from my stash
I had so much fun with this kit!  I thought this picture of my friend and her hubby was perfect for these bright papers!!  My favorite paper is the word paper, I actually cut some word strips from this paper to use under my title!  I also fussy cut one of the globes to use as an embellishment as well! The only thing from my stash used on this layout was the title, for that I used some Dear Lizzy Thickers (I LOVE US) as I thought this font was so perfect for these yummy papers!! I mounted the word "US" on top of one of the flower stickers that I popped up on pop dots to give it some dimension and I love how it looks!  I also used a few pieces from the embellishment kit- tag (under picture on left), frame (under picture on right) and the little postage stamp!!  Here is the embellishment kit:

Make sure and check out The ScrapRoom blog to see all of the amazing layouts created with this kit by the very talented DT.  This is such a fun kit, I know you will love it!  To purchase your own kit visit the  ScrapRoom store!! Happy creating!!

Sketch N Scrap Card sketch #147

Happy June!! We debuted our first card sketch of the month over at Sketch N Scrap today!! Here is the super fun sketch by sketch artist Heather:

Here is my card inspired by the sketch:
Supplies Used: cardstock: Stampin' Up Whisper White; Patterned Paper: Jen Hadfield Heart & Home and Stampin' Up (woodgrain); sticker: My Mind's Eye (doily) and Carta Bella Spring Market (flower); ephemera: Carta Bella Spring Market
I just loved these two lines and bought A LOT including extra paper of both lines lol! So I have plenty to work with.   I have had this doily sitting on my desk as the last sticker in the sheet for almost a year now and when I saw this sketch I knew I had the perfect way to use it FINALLY!! Love it when that happens!  I hope you will find time to play along with us at Sketch N Scrap!  Make sure and check out what the other DT members did with this sketch HERE.  Happy creating!

Bella Blvd Let's Go on An Adventure

Happy Monday!!  The June Flavors of the Month kit is here and is so yummy!!  Have you seen it yet?   Here it is:
Today I am sharing a layout I created using the Bella Blvd Let's Go on An Adventure mini kit:
Here is my layout using this kit:
Supplies Used: Card stock: blue- kit & Black- from my stash; Patterned Paper: Bella Blvd Let's Go on an Adventure- kit; ephemera: Bella Blvd Let's Go on an Adventure- from the kit; enamel dots: My Mind's Eye- from my stash
I am not a big one on using colored card stock for my background, but this beautiful blue came in the kit AND I decided it's time to try something different so I decided to use it this time.  To make the patterned paper pop off the page more I backed all my patterned paper with black card stock from my stash.  I love these adorable embellishments in this kit!  When I saw that sweet little raccoon in the canoe I knew I had to use these fun pics of my brother and his family on a recent canoe trip!! This layout is based on the June 1st sketch at Sketch N Scrap, designed by yours truly!  Here is the sketch:
I hope you will find time to join us this month at Sketch N Scrap, you have until June 30th at 9:55 pm CST to play along with us on the blog!  Make sure and visit The ScrapRoom blog to see what the other DT members did with this amazing kit!  Happy creating!
