August Flavors of the Month Kit ~ Double Page Layout!

Gosh, where has the weekend gone???  Not only this weekend but the WHOLE month, August is more then 1/2 over!! I am looking forward to cooler temps and to Fall, my favorite season though!! Today I am sharing my double page layout using the August Flavors of the month kit at The ScrapRoom.  Here is the full kit:
Here is the Echo Park Teen Spirit Boy mini kit I used for today's layout:

Here is my layout:
Supplies Used: Cardstock: black- from the kit & yellow & white- from my stash; Patterned Paper: Echo Park Teen Spirit - Boy- from the kit; Stickers: Echo Park Teen Spirit -Boy- from the kit; punch: circles 3/4 and 1 inch- Stampin' Up- from my stash
I had a lot of fun making this spread.  I used picture of my adorable nephew who was kind enough to pose for me last Fall when we went on a walk around his neighborhood just the two of us.  We have done this for 4 years in a row now and always have a great time exploring and chatting...I am looking forward to doing the same again this October.  This line is just SUPER cute!! Finally an amazing boys line that is good for boys from toddler to teen years!! I had PLENTY of embellishments to use on this layout from the 12 x 12 sticker sheet included in the kit, however, those circles that are part of  one of the papers were just to adorable not to punch out and use as embellishments!! I used my 3/4 and 1 inch circle punches to punch them out from the paper and then added them at the bottom of my layout!  I love papers you can punch or fussy cut to use as embellishments, so fun!  Make sure and visit The ScrapRoom blog to see the other double page layouts the DT created with this fun kit!  Happy creating!

August Jumpstart Sketch at The ScrapRoom!!

Happy Hump Day!!  Today I am sharing another fun layout I created with the August Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom!!  Here is a reminder of this amazing kit in all it's glory:

Here is the Simple Stories Happy Trails kit I am using on today's layout:

Here is my layout using this amazing collection:
Supplies Used: cardstock: Kraft- from the kit & Stampin' Up Early Espresso & Pool Party- from my stash; Patterned Paper: Simple Stories Happy Trails- from the kit; ephemera: Simple Stories Happy Trails- from the kit; enamel dots: from the kit; letter stickers: Paper Trunk- from my stash
This is Big Bertha the tepee I stayed in at the Lone Star Glamp Inn on my last 2 retreats.  It is so fun, very roomy and cozy.  When we found out our assigned tepee my BFF and I just laughed, what a name!! But she is pretty big as  you can see!! When I saw this ephemera piece that said "tent sweet tent" I just knew what I wanted to use it on!! To be truthful, I don't camp, especially in a tent so "glamping" is the closest I will get to sleeping in a tent!!  The Lone Star Glamp Inn is such a SUPER fun and amazing place, if you are ever in the area make sure and stay at least one night there, you will love it!! This layout is based on the August Jumpstart Sketch by yours truly at The ScrapRoom.  Here is the sketch:
There is still plenty of time to play along with us and this sketch at The ScrapRoom this month!!  Make sure and check out what the other DT members did with the sketch on The ScrapRoom blog AND find out more details on how to play along with us this month!! Happy creating friends!

Sketch N Scrap August Facebook Challenge #4!

Today I am hosting our fourth and final challenge in the Sketch N Scrap monthly Facebook challenge group.  Today our challenge is to create a card using an old sketch from August of 2013!!  Here is the card sketch #8 created by yours truly:

Here is my card I created using this fun but simple sketch:
Supplies Used: Card stock: Stampin' Up- whisper white, pretty in pink, daffodil delight & pumpkin pie; stickers: American Crafts (word sticker & butterfly sticker) & KI Memories (blue square sticker); patterned paper: American crafts; bling: Queen & Co.
This card was created using items in my "BASHKET" and from my scraps pile.  The blue square is a sticker from KI Memories and is MANY years old, more then 12 I would say.  I have had this sticker pack in my "BASHKET" for a while now and after using up this blue sticker have just 3 stickers left!  For those not familiar with my BASHKET, it is a little basket I keep on my desk filled with OLD stash that I am either going to use up or purge come the end of the year.  On January 1st all things left in my BASHKET will be given away or tossed and it will be replenished at that time! I will be doing a happy dance when I bash this sticker sheet, it is so old and I really don't care to much for it anymore but am determined to use it up and I think it looks spectacular on this card!!  It's always fun to bash some stash!  This challenge has an OPTIONAL TWIST to it as well which is to use BLING on your card somewhere.  This is a super easy twist and I usually do add bling to finish off my projects!!  You have until August 31st at midnight CST to play along with us in the monthly Facebook challenge group so make sure and join us and play along!! Our prize this month is an amazing Pinkfresh Studios prize package that I know you would love to win!!  Remember if you complete the optional twist you will get ONE extra entry into our random prize drawing so this is just a SUPER easy way to earn an extra entry!!  Happy creating!!

August Flavors of the Month kit ~ Echo Park Teen Spirit Girl

Happy Monday!! This has been a super busy month for me but I have somehow managed to squeeze in a lot of crafting none the less!! I have just returned from a little mini vacay and had such a relaxing time! I brought along some crafty supplies yet only managed to touch them once I was so busy and having such a great time!!  Today I am the hostess of our 3rd challenge over at the monthly challenge page on Facebook for Sketch N Scrap!!  Today's challenge was to create a layout using sketch #156 from July 2018.  Here is the sketch created by yours truly:

Here is my layout using the sketch:
Supplies Used: Cardstock: white-from the kit; Patterned Paper: Echo Park Teen Spirit (Girl)- from the kit; doily: From the kit; letter stickers: Paper Trunk- from my stash; ephemera: Echo Park Teen Spirit Girl- from the kit (you make me smile & Everything today totally rocked!); punches: Circles by Stampin' Up.
Every challenge also has an optional twist with it each month to make things a bit more interesting and of course more challenging!  You receive one extra entry into the prize drawing if you complete the optional twist with the sketch!  The optional twist for this challenge was to use emoji's or smiley faces on your layout!  I ended up punching out my emoji's from one of the patterned papers included in the August Flavors of the month kit!  What an easy way to add embellishments!  I also tore some paper on this layout, this old tried and true technique gives such texture to your layouts and so every now and again I will do it, I really need to do it more often as I love the look!!  I created this layout using my August Flavors of the month kit at The ScrapRoom!  Here is close up of the mini kit I used for my layout:
I hope you will join us at Sketch N Scrap this month and play along with one or all of our challenges!!  And don't forget to hop on over to The ScrapRoom blog to see what the other DT members did with the amazing August Flavors of the month kit!!  Happy creating!

My favorite color is purple but I really have very little purple in my stash, however, I did purchase some of the Pink Paislee Horizon line which did have purple in it.  I loved how colorful this line was! Now for the story behind this spread:
My niece and I went on a Hobby Lobby shopping trip a few weeks back & after shopping went to lunch at the Cotton Patch.  During lunch we were chatting about Boba Tea and I was relating to my niece how I had tried it at my glamping trip in March and how much I enjoyed it.  My niece had been wanting to try it but hadn't so we agreed that we would have to do so on our next outing.  As we were driving out of the Cotton Patch parking lot I happened to see a sign for Boba tea at a strip mall across the street....that made us both super excited !!  Here had just been talking Boba tea and finding a place that had it and now here is a place right near where we ate lunch!!  We decided to stop in and try the place called Mint for You.  After much debate we both decided to have a strawberry Boba smoothie.  They were delicious!   I needed 2 pictures to tell my story so since I had put a picture in the journaling card spot I decided to hide my journaling behind the picture of our Boba smoothies.  Here is a close up of the journaling:

I loved using purple on my layout...so you might just be seeing purple used a bit more in this TN and on my other projects!  Here is another close up of the journaling and the pictures of our smoothies.  Aren't those pandas just absolutely adorable?
Now it's your turn I can't wait to see what you create!  One randomly selected winner will win this fun set of Acetate Hearts & Stars from Elle's Studio!!!  They will make the perfect accents for your TN or scrapbook pages!

We did not have our minimum of 3 players for our July challenges so no winner this month. I will be using the same prize for August -  a set pf acetate hearts and stars from Elle's Studio. A big thank you to Sandi for playing along with me last month!!  THANKS for stopping by my blog, I hope you are inspired to play along with me this month!!!   Happy creating!!

August Flavors of the Month kit ~ Pinkfresh Just a little Lovely

Happy Hump Day!!  I'm leaving this afternoon for a 5 day visit to see my son and wanted to pop on and share my first layout using the AMAZING August Flavors of the month kit at The ScrapRoom!! This kit is just the bomb!! Here is the kit:

Here is the mini kit I used for today's layout containing the Pinkfresh Just a Little Lovely collection:

Here is my layout using this beautiful kit:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Pinkfresh Just a little Lovely- from the kit; ephemera: Pinkfresh Just a little Lovely- from the kit; puffy word & flower sticker: Pinkfresh Just a little Lovely - from the embellishment kit; doily- Recollections-from my stash; enamel dots: from the kit; ink- Stampin Up Perfect Plum & Pool Party- from my stash

This kit is so pretty it was hard to cut into the papers!!  It was perfect for this lovely picture of my friend and her sweet granddaughter!  I used the pretty ink drip paper called Chit Chat as my background paper and the layered the various other papers, the doily & some ephemera included in the kit under my photo to draw attention to this lovely photo.  Since I am not a huge fan of white space I added some more ink splatters to the grid paper called Hope to make the white space less "white".  I used the word "beautiful" from the ephemera pieces in my kit and then finished my title using the puffy sticker word "memories".  The puffy stickers are included in the embellishment kit but you could easily use Thickers or other letter stickers if you didn't have the embellishment kit.  Here is the super fun embellishment kit and I think you will see why I always get it and highly recommend kit member get it (it's always filled with deliciousness!)
If you feel like you need to improve your embellishment stash get this add on kit each month for a year or less and you will have enough of an embellishment stash to make your layouts so pretty!! Don't forget to hop on over to The ScrapRoom blog to see what the other DT members did with this kit!!  If you are wanting to purchase your own kit make sure and visit The ScrapRoom store before they sell out!!  Happy creating!

Sketch N Scrap #182

Happy weekend!! I hope your weekend will be filled with lots of creative time! Today I am sharing a fun layout I made using the August 1st sketch at Sketch N Scrap.  Here is the sketch I made:

Here is my layout using the sketch:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Crate Paper (background), Echo Park Happy Camper (gold), Bella Blvd (orange dot) & American Crafts (wood grain); ephemera: Simple Stories Happy Trails & Bella Blvd Let's Go on an Adventure (heart); letter stickers: American Crafts Thickers; enamel dots: My Mind's Eye; word strips: Simple Stories; die: Stampin' Up Stitched circle; cardstock: Pool Party Stampin' Up.
I dug deep into my scraps pile to make this layout.  I was actually just to lazy to go into my office to look for new papers so I just started with a wood grain background and slowly added some larger scraps that coordinated to make this layout.  The ephemera and stickers were all left overs from past kits that were lying on my desk so I really did "throw" this layout together from a mish mash of products!! I love the way it turned out and in fact can't believe that I was able to coordinate so many new and old lines together into something I really loved in a relatively short time!  These pictures are of my brother, sister-in-law and nephew on Memorial Day as they enjoyed some fun at the lake they visit frequently in the Summer!  I love the variety of the pictures and felt it really gave a brief peek into their life at the lake!  I hope you will hop on over to Sketch N Scrap to check out what the other DT members did with this fun sketch and maybe even give it a go yourself! Happy creating!
