Well Rounded ~ Cookin' Up Creations challenge!!

Good morning and TGIF!!  Today I am hosting my second challenge of the month at Cookin' Up Creations!  We are having fun all September long focusing on all things circular!!  For today's challenge called "WELL ROUNDED" I am challenging everyone to create a layout with some circular journaling!!  Here is what I came up with:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Scenic Route (grid), CTMH (branding strip), Bo Bunny (background dot), Jen Hadfield Pebbles Hey Hello; cardstock: Basic Black & Whisper White Stampin' Up; stickers: Jen Hadfield Pebbles Hey Hello; Letter Stickers: American Crafts Thickers, Doodlebug Designs (square, word "tea" & circle letter stickers), black pen: Sakura black Pigma Micron pen.

I had a lot of fun creating this layout!  I have been wanting to do a favorites layout for awhile and so this challenge presented the perfect opportunity for me!  I was gifted this fun set of stickers and the 6 x 8 paper pad from the Pebbles Hey Hello line and so since I didn't have any 12 x 12 sheets this design was perfect as I didn't need any large pieces of paper for it except the background papers. The lovely color palette of this line was easy to match except for one of the pinks which is almost neon, so I didn't use that one!  I love the way adding outlining to the circles and banner with my black pen helped give added dimension to the layout!  This is fast becoming one of my favorite ways to "dress up" my layouts or cards!!  I hope you will join in the fun this month at Cookin' Up Creations!  This forum is the place to visit if you are short on inspiration!!  Have a wonderful weekend and happy creating!

Hello Autumn!!

Happy Hump Day!!  It sure doesn't feel like Autumn here in Texas at the moment but I am trying to get that Fall feeling by scrapping some Fall pictures today!!  Today I am still playing with the September Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom.  I'm using the Carta Bella Hello Autumn mini kit for today's layout.  Here is the mini kit:

Such amazing Fall colors!!  Here is my layout created with the kit:
Supplies Used:  card stock: Kraft-from the kit; patterned paper: Carta Bella Hello Autumn-from the kit; ephemera: Carta Bella Hello Autumn-from the kit; stickers: Carta Bella Hello Autumn- from the kit (pumpkins are from the embellishment kit)
These pictures are from our trip to Vala's Pumpkin Patch last Fall!!  We have made the trip every year since 2004...but not sure it will happen this year due to the pandemic which really makes me sad, it's a fun family tradition!!  Make sure and visit The ScrapRoom blog so you can see the other layouts the talented DT created with this amazing kit!  Happy creating!

September Flavors of the month kit at The ScrapRoom!

Happy Monday!!  It's the start of a new week and I wanted to share a fun layout I created using the September Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom today!!  Pebbles has long been one of my favorite manufactures and Jen Hadfield one of my favorite designers so this new line by Jen Hadfield called The Avenue was on my wish list!! Here is look at that mini kit included in this months Flavors of the month kit at The ScrapRoom:

Isn't this so pretty?  Here is my layout using this lovely kit:

Supplies Used: cardstock: white- from the kit; Patterned paper: Pebbles The Avenue- from the kit;  Word stickers: Pebbles The Avenue- from the embellishment kit; ephemera: Pebbles The Avenue- from the kit; doily: unknown source - from my stash.
This is such a fun kit and I knew these colors and these words would be perfect for this photo of my brother and his family on the front porch of their home posting with the pumpkins we had carved!!  Make sure and hop on over to The ScrapRoom blog to see what the other DT members did with this amazing kit!  Happy creating!

Donut Delight!

This month at Cookin' Up Creations we are focusing on all things circular!!  Just imagine listening to "You Spin Me Round (like a Record) by Dead or Alive on CD while outside playing Frisbee with your neighbors, or watching your kids on the merry-go-round while eating bagels and donuts from  your favorite shop.  Let's not forget the coins we used to make that purchase....so many "round" things to choose from!  Today it's my turn to host our "circular" challenge and I chose DONUTS!!  Yummy!!  My challenge is for you to create a layout using donuts on it (paper, embellishments, pictures etc...) and use the word "DONUT" in your title!!!   Here is my layout I create for this challenge:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Scenic Route (grid), CTMH Sweet Girl, and Pink Paislee And Many More; Stickers: Pink Paislee And Many More & Echo Park Teen Spirit Girl; ephemera: Simple Stories Posh (donut); enamel dots: My Mind's Eye; letter stickers: American Craft Thickers and quote (enjoy the small stuff): unknown source.

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Cookin' Up Creations to join in the fun and see what everyone is creating using circles!!  Happy creating friends!!

TN Time with Lisa & Lori ~ September Edition!

Happy Thursday!!  It's almost the weekend!  I hope you will find time to play with paper this weekend!  I hope to carve out a little creative time for myself if I can.  Another month has come and gone and it's time for the September edition of TN Time with Lisa & Lori!
So let's get this party started:

HERE IS HOW OUR CHALLENGE WORKS: This is a monthly challenge that launches on the 10th of each month  You will have until the 9th at midnight CST to link up your entries. If you complete my sketch challenge link your TN, bullet journal or planner spread below. If you combined my challenge with Lori's challenge link up your spread here on my blog AND on Lori's Blog (My Happy Life).  You will then have a chance to win my prize as well as Lori's prize!  That's a chance to win TWO times with ONE layout! WOW!

Now for my challenge!! Here is this month's sketch:

Now for Lori's fun challenge: (September 10th through October 9th):

So let's go old school and tear some paper friends!!  What a simple yet striking technique to give a great look to our layouts!
Here is my spread using both the sketch & Lori's challenge to tear some paper on your project!  As you can see I chose to tear the strip of paper under my quote box!  I love the look of torn paper don't you?

Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: CTMH Mix In and Every Little Thing lines; journal tabs: Elle's Studio & PinkFresh Studios; quote: Crate Paper Magical Forest; frame: PinkFresh Studios Indigo Hills; stickers: CTMH Every Little Thing (heart, round flower & circle w/ heart) & Crate Paper ( word "Sweet" & cat); Doily: Stampin' Up; ephemera heart & word strips: PinkFresh Studios; Letter Stickers: Making Memories.

Here are a few close ups:
I loved this quote and was excited to find that it matched well with my September Great Stash Bash kit!!  To see more on my Great Stash Bash kit for this month you can click HERE.  Since the pandemic I really find it to be true that happiness is inside the smallest of moments!  I wanted to capture this small everyday moment of myself and my sister's cat Chester in my spread this month!  Chester isn't really into selfies but he did oblige me for one fast selfie as you can see!!

As you can see I switched the sides where the full sheet of paper was in my TN vs in the sketch!  I found it just flowed better.  I also added half of a doily under my picture to give my layout the softer feel that I was seeking to achieve with my papers and embellishments, but other than that I pretty much stayed true to the sketch!   Now for the nitty gritty details:

Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash 2020 ~ September edition!

Happy September!!  Today starts a new month which means we are launching a new edition of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash 2020!  Fall is almost here, and pumpkin spice has hit most stores!! So let's get this party started with our September edition of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash 2020 challenge!!

For those who are new to the challenge here is how it works:
On the 1st of each month we will post a challenge prompt and the stash kit we have created using that prompt. During the month we will try to use as much of our stash kits as possible on different projects. Then, on the last day of the month, we will do a recap post showing what stash we were able to bash!
This will be a just-for-fun challenge so no monthly prize - but isn't the real prize using up our stash? You never know - if we still have a few unused stash items after a few months, then those items may just go into a giveaway. We hope you will join us in our quest to bash some stash in 2020. If you accept the challenge to play along - link up on either my blog or Lori's Blog (or both if you choose) so that we can see who is joining us each month!

Now for our September challenge:

Here are the rules:
This month we will create a kit with 10 papers (seven papers 3 years or older & three newer papers), 5-7 scrap papers, 4 embellishments (three that are 3 years or older & one newer one), and some round embellishments!!!

1. Follow the challenge prompt to create a kit to work with throughout the month. You may use other items, but please concentrate on using your kit.
2. Create new, not previously posted projects using your stash kit.
3. If you have a blog - please include the challenge graphic and a link to our challenge in your posts.
4. You may link to social media if you don't have a blog. If you share on Instagram, please make sure to use - #lisaandlorisgreatstashbash2020
Since this is a just for fun challenge the rules are not set in stone BUT we have them to help you focus on what really matters using your stash!  We also hope you will help spread the word of our fun challenge so others may join in!!  You know you have at least one friend who needs to use her stash!!
Here is my kit using the September prompts:
I am so excited about this kit!! My plan for this kit is to make a lot of cards to beef up my card stash of which I need a lot of thank you and birthday cards!! I am also going to be documenting with this kit in my TN and making a fun encouragement journal using these fun goodies!!

Some close ups:
My older papers:
These are my older papers which are all from CTMH.  There are 3 from the Every Little Thing line (floral, green, blue stripe) and the rest are from the CTMH Mix in Line (grid, black plaid, black hearts and lavender dot) I really love these papers and colors and have been hoarding since I got them, time to use them up!!!

My newer papers:
These papers are from the Pink Paislee Horizon line (yellow floral and blue speckle), Heidi Swapp Art Walk (light green grid) and PinkFresh Studios Noteworthy line (cut apart cards).  I think these will mesh well with the older papers I picked.

Here are my scraps:
These papers are from American Crafts Shimelle's Never Grow Up line (yellow words), CTMH Every Little Thing (green and navy floral), Echo Park (yellow dot) and navy scroll/medallion is from the Photo Play Paper line We are family.  The other lines I don't remember as the branding strips are gone!! As you can see I picked a lot of larger scraps this go round!!

My embellishments:
For my older embellishments I chose an ephemera pack by PinkFresh Studios the Indigo Hills line, tags from Pink Paislee Horizon line, acetate letters from the Hip Kit Club and a 12 x 12 sticker sheet from CTMH Every Little Thing.  For my newer embellishment I picked stickers from the Pebbles Jen Hadfield HomeMade line.

My circle embellishments:
I chose 3 sets of enamel dots one from Pink Fresh Studios, one from Elle's Studio and one from My Mind's Eye!  I was also digging in my stash and found these amazing epoxy stickers from Pink Fresh Studios from their Simple & Sweet line!! The wood buttons are from My Mind's Eye.  The flair buttons are from A Flair for buttons and last but not least there is a mixed embellishment pack from PinkFresh Studios that has some circle wood buttons, enamel dots and epoxy circle stickers!!

I am super excited to dig into my fun kit this month!! I hope you will join myself and Lori as we endeavor to bash some stash this month!  Remember if you play along make sure and use the #lisaandlorisgreatstashbash2020.  I can't wait to see your kit!  Happy creating!!
