July 2022 Flavors of the Month Kit

Happy Weekend!  I'm working my way through a stack of layouts I didn't show you in 2022 on my blog due to the death of my father.  I did post on social media but I also want them to have a place here on my blog!  So bear with me while I catch up!  Today I am sharing a fun layout I created using the July 2022 Flavors of the Month Kit at The ScrapRoom!  It features the super fun Doodlebug Designs My Happy Place collection!  Here it is:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Doodlebug Designs My Happy Place; ephemera: Doodlebug Designs My Happy Place; Puff hearts: Doodlebug Designs

Is there anyone who doesn't just love the whimsical fun collections that Doodlebug Designs puts out?  I have them loved them since I started scrapbooking!  My sister's cat Chester loves to pose and so I was able to get some adorable photos of him lounging on his favorite chair and I thought they were the perfect photos for this fun collection fittingly called "My Happy Place"!  What is your favorite Doodlebug line?  I'd love to know so drop it in the comments!  Happy creating!

March 2021 Jumpstart Sketch at The ScrapRoom

TGIF!!  As I was looking at some past sketches I have created trying to find one to use on a layout I need to create this weekend I came across this one I created for The ScrapRoom's March 2021 Jumpstart sketch.  I loved this sketch so much and realized that I never shared it here on my blog!  So here it is:

Here is the layout I created with the sketch using the March 2021 Flavors of the Month Kit at The ScrapRoom:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Pretty Little Studio Miss Sadie Rose; ephemera: Pretty Little Studio Miss Sadie Rose.

I love this paper collection!  The color palette is so soft and soothing, just perfect for this photo of my friend's sweet granddaughter!  I really love the black and white florals, they just lend a pop of black and white to give the perfect accent for this page don't you think?  I hope your weekend is full of creative fun!  If you created something using this gorgeous collection make sure and share it here in the comments!  Happy creating!

Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash Adventure ~ January 2023!!!

Happy New Year! It's 2023 and time to launch another fun year of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash Adventure! We have something fun & new in store for you this year regarding our Great Stash Bash Challenge so read on to find out what it is! I did not do well on using my kit in the last month of the year, but that is the great thing about a New Year, it's a chance to start anew, so cheers to a new year and a fresh start!! So without further adieu let's kick off the January 2023 edition of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash 2023!!

For our 2023 challenge here is how it works:
On the 1st of each month we will post a challenge prompt and the stash kit we have created using that prompt. During the month we will try to use as much of our stash kits as possible on different projects. Then, on the last day of the month, we will do a recap post showing what stash we were able to bash!  New in 2023: We will also be placing 10 things in our "bashket" each month.  This "bashket" is progressive meaning at the end of the month we will keep what is in our basket moving into the next month.  Our goal is to use up 10 things or 120 ITEMS from our stash by the end of the year!
Here is an explanation of how the "bashket" will work:

This will be a just-for-fun challenge so there is no monthly prize - but isn't the real prize using up our stash?  We hope you will join us in our quest to bash some stash in 2023. If you accept the challenge to play along - link up on either my blog or Lori's Blog (or both if you choose) so that we can see who is joining us each month!

To start off 2023 I have chosen 2 kits as I have 2 projects in mind for this month:
Kit #1:
My favorite sides of the papers:
These papers are from the Hip Kit Club Dream Big collection and Shimelle's She's Magic collection (journal cards paper).

The "B" sides of my papers:
Why is it that the "B" sides never look like they go together?

My embellishments & stash bash item (wood veneers):
All my embellishments are from the 2021 Hip Kit Club collection Dream Big!  I'm determined to stop hoarding these fun embellishments!

My scraps:
These scraps are from Doodlebug Designs (purple) and Hip Kit Club Dream Big collection!

Kit #2:
My favorite side of the papers:
These papers are all from Crate Paper, the Marigold & Fresh Bouquet collections.  I plan to use them in my One Little Word Journal that I plan to start this month!

The "B" sides of the papers:
In the case of Crate Paper I always love BOTH sides of the paper making it a hard choice on which side to use!

My embellishments, scraps & stash bash item (wood veneers):
My Sticker sheets are from Crate Paper Marigold and Fresh Bouquet collections.  My scraps are from Pink Paislee Auburn Lane (woodgrain paper) & Crate Paper Garden Party.  The wood veneers are just random ones I've had on my desk for years that I need to use up!

Now for my "bashket" items:
Here are my 10 items: (Starting in the upper left corner):
1. Cut apart paper from Crate Paper Flourish collection
2. Cut Apart Paper from the Crate Paper Marigold collection
3. Cut Apart Paper from the Crate Paper Marigold collection
4. Scrap from PinkFresh Studio Let your Heart Decide line that I plan to fussy cut
5. Crate Paper Garden Party used sticker sheet
6.Ephemera from Kelly Bangs Creative the Office Type collection
7. Ephemera words/florals from The Office Type Collection by Kelly Bangs
8. Ephemera from The Office Type collection by Kelly Bangs
9. Cards/Tabs from The Office Type Collection by Kelly Bnads
10. Remark puffy hearts, ampersands and dots

I have had all of these things on my desk for well over a year waiting to use them, the only recent purchase is Kelly Bangs' The Office Type ephemera set I got at The Little Craft Place last month when I visited to take a class!  I realize this is a lot of things and I am really challenging myself with this progressive challenge!  I hope my "bashket" is not overflowing by February!  Here is a picture of my desk and how I plan to store my "bashket" items:
I have been using this system for awhile but not really being intentional about using up the stuff!  I will store the stickers and papers in the paper organizer you see in the background.  I got this at Target awhile back, it helps me see stuff I have decided needs to be used up!

The ephemera packs I place in these stackable bins from Target. I remove the plastic from them so it is easier to see what is in the bin.  Once this month is over what is left will go back in the plastic and then into the paper organizer and new stuff can go into these bins!  I hope to use up these things by the end of the year, if not look out for a giveaway this time next year for all these items!

Here are the rules for 2023:
Each month we will create a kit with 10 or more papers (dig into your stash for new or old papers it's up to  you!), 5-7 scrap papers (let's keep those scrap piles under control!), 3-4 embellishments (new or old- you decide), and a stash bash item!  This month's stash bash item is wood veneers!!
1. Follow the challenge prompt to create a kit to work with throughout the month. You may use other items, but try to concentrate on using your kit.
2. Create new, not previously posted projects using your stash kit.
3. If you have a blog - please include the challenge graphic & a link to our challenge in your posts.
4. You may link to social media if you don't have a blog. If you share on Instagram, please make sure to use - #lisaandlorisgreatstashbash2023
Since this is a just for fun challenge the rules are not set in stone BUT we have them to help you focus on what really matters using your stash!  We also hope you will help spread the word of our fun challenge so others may join in!!  You know you have at least one friend who needs to use her stash!!

I am super excited to dig into my fun kit this month!! I hope you will join Lori and myself as we endeavor to bash some stash!  Remember if you play along make sure and use the hashtag #lisaandlorisgreatstashbash2023.  I can't wait to see your kit!  If you create a kit link up below to share with us all!!  Happy creating!!

Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash Adventure 2022 ~ December edition!

Happy December! It's the most wonderful time of the year!  The cold weather hit Texas early this year and it's been crazy!  One day it's 80 and the next in the 30's!  Mother Nature is taking us on a roller coaster ride this last month of 2022! I did do better at using my kit last month, as I made one card and one layout, however, you can barely tell I used my kit!!  I have one more month in this year and I am determined to make good use of my December kits!!  So without further adieu let's kick off the last month of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash 2022 with the December edition!!

For those who are new to the challenge here is how it works:
On the 1st of each month we will post a challenge prompt and the stash kit we have created using that prompt. During the month we will try to use as much of our stash kits as possible on different projects. Then, on the last day of the month, we will do a recap post showing what stash we were able to bash!
This will be a just-for-fun challenge so there is no monthly prize - but isn't the real prize using up our stash?  We hope you will join us in our quest to bash some stash in 2022. If you accept the challenge to play along - link up on either my blog or Lori's Blog (or both if you choose) so that we can see who is joining us each month!

Now for our December Challenge:
I am so excited to use some stamps this month!  My stamps have been neglected to much this past year!

For December I decided to pick 2 kits.  I have a few Winter/snow pictures to scrap and I also want to scrap some Christmas photos and make a few Christmas cards so I picked a Winter themed kit and a Christmas themed kit, however I feel I can interchange these 2 kits easily!

Here is my 1st Christmas themed kit:
Papers are from: Hip Kit Club Holiday Happenings (winter floral & snowflake),Crate Paper Hey Santa (red dot, black stripe & pink plaid), & Pink Fresh Studios Be You (mint dot).

Here are the back sides of the papers, so hard to choose which one to use!
My favorite is the Cut Apart cards!

Here are my scraps:
These scraps are bigger but I hope to use them to make more room in my scrap pile!

My embellishments & stamps:
Sticker sheets: Pink Fresh Studios Oh What Fun, Hip Kit Club Holiday Happenings, & Simple Stories Holly Days; Cut Apart Card; Pink Fresh Studios Holiday Vibes and stamps: Stampin' Up Santa's List & Cozy Christmas

Now for my 2nd kit (Winter themed):
Papers from Crate Paper Snowflake (snowflakes & cut apart cards), Pretty Little Studio Glitter & Ice (pink plaid & pink stems), & Hip Kit Keeping Cozy (multi snowflakes & multi chevron).

The back sides of my papers:
Once again it's going to be hard to choose which side to use!

My scraps:
I believe these are all from the Hip Kit Club but am not sure as I got them so long ago!  Time to use them up!!!

My embellishments & stamp set:
Chipboard stickers: Hip Kit Club Keeping Cozy; ephemera: Hip Kit Club Keeping Cozy; enamel dots and words: Hip Kit Club Keeping Cozy, tags/envelopes: Hip Kit Club Keeping Cozy, white stems/florals: Hip Kit Club Keeping Cozy & stamp set: CTMH Perk Up.

Here are the rules for 2022:
Each month we will create a kit with 10 or more papers (dig into your stash for new or old papers it's up to  you!), 5-7 scrap papers (let's keep those scrap piles under control!), 3-4 embellishments (new or old- you decide), and a stash bash item!  This month's stash bash item is washi tape!!
1. Follow the challenge prompt to create a kit to work with throughout the month. You may use other items, but try to concentrate on using your kit.
2. Create new, not previously posted projects using your stash kit.
3. If you have a blog - please include the challenge graphic & a link to our challenge in your posts.

Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash Adventure ~ November edition!

Happy November! It seems Fall is in full swing! YAY!! October sure flew by and unfortunately I did not make much of a dent in my kit 😞 once again (do I sound like a broken record yet?) However, it's a new month with a chance to start fresh AND that means it's time for a new edition of The Great Stash Bash Adventure with Lisa & Lori!! So without further adieu let's get the party started with the November edition of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash 2022!!

Now for our November Challenge:

For November I just picked one kit, I have some older Fall photos to scrap and this kit will be perfect for those photos!
Here are the 10 papers I picked for this month:
These papers are from 1 Canoe 2 Willow line (dark plum & black plaid); Jen Hadfield (words);Paige Evans Truly Grateful (pink grid, leaves, and butterflies); Webster's Pages (orange plaid); Dear Lizzy She's Magic (green grid); Pretty Little Studio Indian Summer funky paint background and Paige Evans Garden Shop (orange circles)

Here are my embellishments:
These are from Pretty Little Studio Indian Summer (leaves, frames & ephemera), Hip Kit Club Cozy Up (words and ephemera), cut apart cards from Webster's Pages and Pink Paislee.  I have SOOO many cut apart cards and while I just love them I don't use them as much as I need to!  I have considered cutting them up but then the paper on the back would be in such small pieces so I am for now storing them as full sheets with my stash!

My scraps:
These are from various manufacturers and I am happy to have a big selection of scraps to use for this kit!  The scraps are from Pink Paislee, Hip Kit Cozy Up, Paige Evans Truly Grateful, One Canoe Two Willow and Bo Bunny Beautiful Things.

And my stash bash item (washi tape) for this month:
It is hard to get a good picture of washi tape!  These are all washi tapes I've never used!!  I do not remember the manufacturers of these tapes but they are all so pretty don't you think?

Here are the rules for 2022:
Each month we will create a kit with 10 or more papers (dig into your stash for new or old papers it's up to  you!), 5-7 scrap papers (let's keep those scrap piles under control!), 3-4 embellishments (new or old- you decide), and a stash bash item!  This month's stash bash item is washi tape!!

TN Time with Lisa & Lori ~ October edition!

Happy October!!  Fall is here, the mornings and evenings have been so nice and cool here in Texas!!  Fall is my favorite season and I hope we get to enjoy it fully before the Winter arrives!! It's a new month and that means a new challenge so let's get the party started with another edition of our TN Time with Lisa & Lori challenge!

HERE IS HOW OUR CHALLENGE WORKS:
This is a monthly challenge that launches on the 10th of each month  You will have until the 9th at midnight CST to link up your entries. If you complete my sketch challenge link your TN, bullet journal or planner spread below. If you combined my challenge with Lori's challenge link up your spread here on my blog AND on Lori's Blog (My Happy Life). This is a "just for fun" challenge with no prize, but isn't the real prize just documenting your memories and getting more pages done in 2022???!!!!

Now for my challenge!! Here is this month's sketch:

Now for Lori's challenge: (October 10th- November 9th):

Here is my spread using the sketch & Lori's challenge to use stamps:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Echo Park Happy Days; Cardstock: Stampin' Up Basic Black; ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; stickers: Echo Park Happy Days; date stamp: Office Depot; Word Stamps: Elle's Studio; dies: circle and scallop circle- Stampin' Up; letter stickers: Carpe Diem by Simple Stories; labels: Elle's Studio

Now for some close ups:
The sketch doesn't call for such a large element but this sticker that I have hoarded for well over 10 years was perfect for this theme of an old diner.  I stamped the words "DOCUMENTED ON THIS DAY" on this fun label.

Lori's challenge for us this month is to use stamps and since I have so many stamps it was a lot of fun to dig them out and play with them!  I used my new date stamp from Office Depot, it was inexpensive and stamps great!  I also used a stamp I've had for a few years which is from Elle's Studio, it's a date stamp set and it ends in 2021 so I can't use the dates any longer (thus the new Office Depot stamp) but it had the words "DOCUMENTED ON THIS DAY" that I had never used, and I love how this looks!  I plan to use this stamp again soon!  I really love stamping in my traveler's notebook and am not sure why I haven't done much of it!  This was the challenge I needed to jumpstart my stamping creativity and hopefully it will motivate me to use my stamps more often!!

NOW FOR THE RULES FOR THE CHALLENGE:
1.Create a TRAVELER'S NOTEBOOK, PLANNER, OR BULLET JOURNAL spread based on the CHALLENGE THEME and/or our sketch.

Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash Adventure ~ October edition!

Happy October!  My favorite month is here!! YAY!!  September sure flew by and unfortunately I did not make much of a dent in my September kit 😞  However, it's a new month with a chance to start fresh AND that means it's time for a new edition of The Great Stash Bash Adventure with Lisa & Lori!! So without further adieu let's get the party started with the October edition of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash 2022!!

Now for our October Challenge:

For this month's stash bash item I kept it simple and just picked one set of ephemera!  I have TONS of ephemera to use up but I wanted to simplify in hopes of actually using up my kit this month!  It seems the more choices I have the less I use lol!!

This month I am going to be working with just ONE kit!
Here is my October kit:
This kit is digging DEEP into my stash to pull out some VERY OLD papers and combine them with some new ephemera, stamps and stickers!!

Close up of my favorite side of the papers:
These papers are from :Studio Calico (orange, green, & pink dots); October Afternoon (blue lines, yellow grid, multi chevron & word print); Basic Grey (circle & pink) and Sassafras Lass (ice cream cones).  Since this kit is CIRCUS themed I thought these papers really fit that theme!  It will feel good to actually use these papers up, most have been in my stash for over 15 years!  In fact, most of these companies are no longer in business, WOW!

Close up of the "B" sides of my papers:
Some of these sides don't really work with my circus theme but I think some will!

Close up of my embellishments:
My ephemera pieces are all from a new kit called STEP RIGHT UP from Illustrated Faith.  The ephemera pieces came in this ADORABLE little peanut sack!!   The stamps, tickets, and sticker sheets are also all from the Illustrated Faith Step Right Up kit. I also included some brads from October Afternoon and some old buttons and wood veneer I thought went well with this kit!  This kit from Illustrated Faith has a devotional that is included and I am planning to do this devotional by my friend Lisa Stander in October.  I plan to make a "junk journal" of sorts for my notes and plan to bind the devotional (see below) and some more papers for note taking using my cinch!  I plan to use all the above embellishments to decorate my home made junk journal notebook!  I have not yet used my cinch so I am excited to dust it off and make a fun journal this month!! Wish me luck!!

This month's stash bash item is EPHEMERA!!
If you share on Instagram, please make sure to use - #lisaandlorisgreatstashbash2022
Since this is a just for fun challenge the rules are not set in stone BUT we have them to help you focus on what really matters using your stash!  We also hope you will help spread the word of our fun challenge so others may join in!!  You know you have at least one friend who needs to use her stash!!
I didn't do so well on using my stash last month, however, I plan to finish up a few projects I started with last month's kit but never completed in the next week or so and will then share an update on what I was able to bash with last month's kit!!

I am super excited to dig into my fun kit this month!! I hope you will join Lori and myself as we endeavor to bash some stash!  Remember if you play along make sure and use the hashtag #lisaandlorisgreatstashbash2022.  I can't wait to see your kit!  If you create a kit link up below to share with us all!!  Happy creating!!
