Happy October! Does it feel like Fall where you are? We are still waiting for cooler temperatures here in Texas! I am looking forward to that first breath of cool crisp Fall air! It's a new month and that means it's time to launch another fun edition of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash Adventure! So without further adieu let's kick off the October 2023 edition of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash 2023!!
How our 2023 challenge works:
On the 1st of each month we will post a challenge prompt and the stash kit we have created using that prompt. During the month we will try to use as much of our stash kits as possible on different projects. This challenge is a just-for-fun challenge so there is no monthly prize - but isn't the real prize using up our stash? We hope you will join us in our quest to bash some stash in 2023. If you accept the challenge to play along - link up on either my blog or Lori's Blog (or both if you choose) so that we can see who is joining us each month!
Now for our "recipe" for October:
I don't know about you but I have LOTS of ephemera to use up!
New in 2023: We will be placing 10 things in our "bashket" each month. This "bashket" is progressive meaning at the end of the month we will keep what is in our basket moving into the next month. Our goal is to use up 10 things or 120 ITEMS from our stash by the end of the year!
Here is an explanation of how the "bashket" will work:
Now for my October kits:
For this month I chose 2 kits because I have 2 projects in mind that I hope to tackle!
My first kit:
This fun kit has papers from the CTMH Feels like Home collection. For my embellishments I will be using the cut apart paper from this collection, a sticker sheet and some ephemera, which is this month's stash bash item. My plans for this kit are to create a layout of my son and daughter in law's new home as well as a few misc layouts of my granddaughter.
Here are the "B" sides of the papers:
Now for my second kit for this month:
This kit features an eclectic mix of papers from the following lines: Pink Paislee Auburn Lane, One Canoe Two Willow, Pretty Little Studio Indian Summer, and Heidi Swapp Honey & Spice. For my embellishments I chose some wooden letters from Pinkfresh Studios the Holiday Vibes collection, some ephemera from Fancy Pants Yellow Door, Bo Bunny Beautiful Things and Crate Paper Flourish, 3 traveler's notebooks from One Canoe Two and American Crafts as well as a cut apart paper from Pink Paislee Auburn Lane. For this kit I plan to make a Gratitude notebook and scripture writing notebook to use in November! The reason I chose THREE notebooks is just because I couldn't decide on the two I would like to use!!

My stash bash item for this month: ephemera:
I have so much ephemera, that this is just a drop in the bucket! I store all my ephemera in these cute little stackable trays from Target (found in the bathroom section), it really helps me to be able to see everything without having to constantly open packages! The ephemera I will be using are from the following collections: Bo Bunny Beautiful Things, Fancy Pants Yellow Door, Hip Kit Club Home Sweet Home, Crate Paper Flourish, CTMH Feels Like Home and Paige Evans Bungalow. Such a pretty mix of pieces!
These are all things I had left on my desk after cleaning my craft room and since I didn't have a place for them, they are going in my bashket!
My 10 items are:
1. Sticker sheet from PinkFresh Studios Days of Splendor
2. Sticker sheet from PinkFresh Studios Days of Splendor
3.ephemera piece-unknown source
4. ephemera piece- unknown source
5. ephemera pieces from Doodlebug Designs My Happy Place collection
6. journal half circle from Making Memories
7. flowers from an unknown source
8. letter board cut out from an unknown source
9. journal card from an unknown source
10. hello cut apart card from American Crafts.
Here are the rules for 2023:
Each month we will create a kit with 10 or more papers (dig into your stash for new or old papers it's up to you!), 5-7 scrap papers (let's keep those scrap piles under control!), 3-4 embellishments (new or old- you decide), and a stash bash item! This month's stash bash item is ephemera!!
1. Follow the challenge prompt to create a kit to work with throughout the month. You may use other items, but try to concentrate on using your kit.
2. Create new, not previously posted projects using your stash kit.
3. If you have a blog - please include the challenge graphic & a link to our challenge in your posts.
4. You may link to social media if you don't have a blog. If you share on Instagram, please make sure to use - #lisaandlorisgreatstashbash2023
Since this is a just for fun challenge the rules are not set in stone BUT we have them to help you focus on what really matters using your stash! We also hope you will help spread the word of our fun challenge so others may join in!! You know you have at least one friend who needs to use her stash!!
LISA
