Lisa and Lori's Great Stash Bash 2020 ~ August edition

Happy August!!  Wow, July just flew by for me, how about for you?  Today starts a new month which means we are launching a new edition of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash 2020!  So let's get this party started with our August edition of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash 2020 challenge!!  

For those who are new to the challenge here is how it works:

On the 1st of each month we will post a challenge prompt and the stash kit we have created using that prompt. During the month we will try to use as much of our stash kits as possible on different projects. Then, on the last day of the month, we will do a recap post showing what stash we were able to bash!

This will be a just-for-fun challenge so no monthly prize - but isn't the real prize using up our stash? You never know - if we still have a few unused stash items after a few months, then those items may just go into a giveaway. We hope you will join us in our quest to bash some stash in 2020. If you accept the challenge to play along - link up on either my blog or Lori's Blog (or both if you choose) so that we can see who is joining us each month!

Here are the rules:

This month we will create a kit with 10 papers (seven papers 3 years or older & three newer papers), 5-7 scrap papers, 4 embellishments (three that are 3 years or older & one newer one), and some wood veneers!!!

1. Follow the challenge prompt to create a kit to work with throughout the month. You may use other items, but please concentrate on using your kit. 

2. Create new, not previously posted projects using your stash kit.

3. If you have a blog - please include the challenge graphic and a link to our challenge in your posts. 

4. You may link to social media if you don't have a blog. If you share on Instagram, please make sure to use - #lisaandlorisgreatstashbash2020

Since this is a just for fun challenge the rules are not set in stone BUT we have them to help you focus on what really matters using your stash!  We also hope you will help spread the word of our fun challenge so others may join in!!  You know you have at least one friend who needs to use her stash!! 

Here is my kit using the August prompts:

 This month I am trying to have a "plan" for my kit ahead of time to ensure I will use as much of it as possible!!  This month I plan to scrap some wedding and baby pictures for a friend's album and I think this kit will be perfect for those pictures!!

My older papers- this month I have 8:

 These papers are from the Pink Paislee Cedar Park line (3); Stampin' Up Designer Paper Pad (olive words); Crate Paper Static (gold scrolls);Crate  Paper North Pole collection (yellow); Crate Paper Chasing Dreams (blue dot).  As you can see this is a great mix of manufacturers!  There is even a Christmas Paper thrown in!! The yellow paper from the Crate Paper North Pole Collection is meant to be a Christmas paper but I thought the subtle pattern was generic enough to use on non-Christmas layouts!! 

My newer papers- this month I have 4:

These papers are from the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Flourish and Sweet Story collections!  I was lucky enough to be gifted some of the Sweet Story collection back in May & decided it is time to use it up!!

My scraps- chose 7 this month: 

 These papers are from the Pink Paislee Cedar Park line (3) & are actually a few left over 6 x 6 papers I had from that line; Fancy Pants A Cherry on Top (stripe); Echo Park About A Boy (woodgrain) and the blue scroll and pink lined paper I have NO idea what line they are from as the branding strips are gone!

My embellishments & wood veneers:

The 3 older embellishments I chose for this month are: Simple Stories I Am chipboard, Crate Paper Wonderful Thickers, and Maggie Holmes Flourish ephemera (in the little plastic box).  The newer embellishments are both from the Maggie Holmes Sweet Story collection and are an ephemera pack & butterflies!! So pretty!  My wood veneers are some words from CTMH, misc hearts and word strips from Elle's Studio Live, Laugh, Love line & a fox from an unknown source (I don't even remember where I got it!! Yikes!)

Sketch N Scrap #205

TGIF!! Can you believe it is the end of the month?  I can't!  July just flew by!! So today is the last day you can submit your projects using any of the 4 monthly sketches at Sketch N Scrap!   So I just had to make sure I played along with Heather's fun sketch for the July 15th challenge before the month ended!  Here is the sketch:

I had so much fun with this sketch!  I loved these pictures of my niece and nephew from a few years back but had been waiting for the "perfect" papers to use with them....well, I kept trying out Fall lines which these pictures were taken in the fall but I didn't like how the oranges looked with these pictures, so I tried this line and just loved how it looked!! So even though the pictures are from the Fall and the paper is called Welcome Spring it all worked out perfectly!!  Our challenges close at 9:55 pm CST tonight so you still have a few hours to get your craft one!  Make sure and head on over to the Sketch N Scrap blog to see what the amazing DT did with this sketch!  Happy creating!

July 20th card sketch at Sketch N Scrap!

Happy  Hump Day!  July is flying by and it's almost time to welcome in August!! But I am back today to share another card I made with the amazing July 20th card sketch @ Sketch N Scrap!  I just loved this card sketch so much I made TWO cards with it!! I just loved the bright vibrant papers in this line by Pink Paislee called And Many More that was in my July Flavors of the Month kit at The Scraproom!! It is so pretty!! This large foam sticker was great to use in place of the flower in the sketch!!  I added a quick stamped greeting using the Melon Mambo ink from Stampin' Up and here you have a beautiful quick card!! Happy Monday! I hope you had an amazingly creative weekend!  I am doing some reorganizing in my craft room so I worked on that as well as my projects this weekend.  Today we have our last sketch of the month up at Sketch N Scrap! It's hard to believe this month is winding down, it went by so quickly!!  Here is the fun card sketch that sketch artist Heather created for us:

I have been hoarding this paper to long and when I was reorganizing I came across this big flower and knew it was perfect for this sketch so I dug out my Pebbles Girl Squad 6 x 6 paper pad and created this card in just a few minutes! I also had never used this stamp set called Life is a Journey by CTMH and I am not sure why because it is super cute!! So it was long overdue for me to ink it up!!! Double Page fun with the July Flavors of the Month kit!

Happy Saturday!!!  Today I am sharing my double page layout that I created with the July Flavors of the Month Kit at The ScrapRoom.  I just loved this layout it was SO fun to create!! Here is a reminder of the full kit:

I just loved the bright bold colors and patterns in this kit!! Cookin' Up Creations White + Orange Challenge!

TGIF!  Today I am sharing another fun challenge that I am hosting over at Cookin' Up Creations!!  If you remember from earlier in the month we are focusing on the color WHITE plus one other color this month and the other color changes for each challenge!  My last challenge I had the color pink but for this challenge I have the color ORANGE!!  I don't know about you but when I think of orange I think of Fall!!  So I printed out a Fall picture of my sister-in-law, brother and nephew taken on their front porch a few Falls back when it was all decked out!!  Here is my layout for this fun challenge:

I love how this turned out! I used mainly scraps from my scraps pile for this layout.  The only non-scrap was the word paper from Elle's Studio which is a 6 x 6 piece from one of my 6 x 6 pads.  I had fun combining a variety of manufacturers products on this layout and I think it turned out so well and everyone worked well together despite being from different lines!  Make sure and head on over to Cookin' Up Creations to see what the other members did and see what other colors we have been challenged to use!  I hope you will find time to play along with us this month!  Happy creating!

These fun pictures are of my niece's 12th birthday!  Her parent's got her a giant Peppa the Pig balloon and she loved it!
