May Jumpstart Sketch @ The ScrapRoom

Happy Monday!! Today I am sharing another layout I created with the Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom.  Here is a the full kit for May:

Here is the Pebbles Sun & Fun kit I am using for today's layout:

And here is the Jumpstart Sketch for May that today's layout is based on:

Here is my layout created with the kit & the Jumpstart sketch:
Supplies Used: cardstock: Blue- from the kit & white- from my stash; patterned paper: Pebbles Sun & Fun- from the kit; ephemera: Pebbles Sun & Fun- from the kit; dots: Pebbles Sun & Fun- from the kit; doily: unknown- from my stash
I just loved the bright bold colors and patterns found in this kit! I love all the layers included in this sketch and it all came together so quickly and seamlessly!  I did mount the blue patterned paper on white cardstock to make it stand out against the blue background more.  I added outlining around the flags and triangles to give more definition to those patterns as well!  To see what the other DT members did with this sketch and this kit head on over to The ScrapRoom blog to be inspired!  Happy creating!

TN Time with Lisa & Lori ~ May edition

Happy Sunday and Happy Mother's Day to all you Mom's out there! I hope you are able to get some creative "ME" time on your special day today! Today we are launching another sketch and another fun TN challenge!  So let's get this party started!

HERE IS HOW OUR CHALLENGE WORKS: This is a monthly challenge that launches on the 10th of each month  You will have until the 9th at midnight CST to link up your entries. If you complete my sketch challenge link your TN, bullet journal or planner spread below. If you combined my challenge with Lori's challenge link up your spread here on my blog AND on Lori's Blog (My Happy Life).  You will then have a chance to win my prize as well as Lori's prize!  That's a chance to win TWO times with ONE layout! WOW!
Now for my challenge!! Here is this month's sketch:

Now for Lori's fun challenge:
Since May brings such beautiful flowers this challenge is perfect for this month!! I know we have had such beautiful wildflowers this month and even last month here in Texas! So add some flowers to your layout, either in your picture, paper or embellishments!
Here is my TN spread using BOTH the sketch and Lori's challenge:
Supplies Used: Cardstock: Stampin' Up Night of Navy & Watermelon Wonder; Patterned Paper: Simple Stories So Happy Together; ephemera & stickers: Simple Stories So Happy Together; enamel dots: source unknown
I was able to use up most of the remaining scraps from my November 2019 Flavors of the month kit at the ScrapRoom!  I still have a few very small scraps left and a lot of stickers....I loved this collection and since I had this large word "HOME" in the ephemera that came with my kit I decided to use it up on this spread!  I thought it worked well for this theme!
Here are a few close ups:
You can see for Lori's challenge I used a flower sticker as well as floral paper on my spread!  Can we every get enough flowers???!!!

There was so much I want to say on this spread that I should have left a spot for hidden journaling but I did not...so I had to type it out to make it fit in this small space.  I think I will have to do a second page to include the rest of what I want to say as I ran out of room.  I don't know about you but gosh, what a wild ride the past month has been and although I kind of want to forget most of it, I do want to document this unprecedented time in my life for sure.  I will most likely do another spread about this subject next month as well.  My 2019 TN I documented one fun part of my month and did 12 spreads, one for each month.  I really don't lead to exciting of a life, I'm not a jet setter by any means but my life pre-COVID looks like I am a jet setter compared to my life now lol!  Are you planning to document this part of your journey?

RULES FOR THE CHALLENGE (to be entered into the prize drawing):
1.Create a TRAVELER'S NOTEBOOK, PLANNER, OR BULLET JOURNAL spread based on the CHALLENGE THEME and/or our sketch.

NSD sketch challenge!!

Happy weekend!  I know NSD was last weekend but I am just getting around to posting this fun layout I created on NSD!  This layout was created for my friend Stacy's sketch challenge at A Cherry on Top.  This is Stacy's first sketch and I was so excited for her that I just HAD to participate by using this amazing sketch!  Here is her sketch:

Here is my layout using the sketch:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Bella Blvd Let's Go on an Adventure, Stampin' Up (yellow tag) & Shimelle Little by Little; carstock: CTMH- black; ephemera: Bella Blvd Let's Go on an Adventure & PhotoPlay Paper Stuck on You; PL card- Elle's Studios; twine- Stampin' Up, ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; stamp: Illustrated Faith; Tag: Bella Blvd Let's go on an Adventure.
I loved this collection, I didn't buy much of it because I had received some in my June 2019 Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom, so I am just now using it all up!  I still have a few small scraps left and 3 pieces of ephemera so not sure if I can get another layout out of it or not...but I will try.  I just loved the bright vibrant colors and floral prints in this collection, it was perfect for these pictures of my brother, sister- in- law and nephew out on the lake one day!! I also was excited that this PL card from Elle's studio matched this collection so well, I've been hoarding it for awhile now!!  Make sure and go check out the gallery at A Cherry on Top to see all the amazing layouts created with this sketch by Stacy!! Happy creating friends!

May Flavors of the month kit at The ScrapRoom!

Happy Monday friends!!  Today I am sharing my first layout created with the May Flavors of the month kit at The ScrapRoom!!  Here is the full kit:

Here is the Carta Bella Oh Happy Day mini kit I am working with today:

Here is my layout using the beautiful kit:
Supplies Used: cardstock: black-from the kit; patterned paper: Carta Bella Oh Happy Day- from the kit; stickers: Carta Bella Oh Happy Day- from the kit; doily- unknown- from my stash; enamel dot: Pebbles- from my stash; letter stickers: Carta Bella Oh Happy Day- from the embellishment kit.
I absolutely LOVE this line! It is so pretty and I love that you get the full 12 x 12 sheet of stickers in this kit!! So many beautiful stickers to chose from!! I also really love these letter stickers which are so unique and are found in the embellishment kit!!  These pictures were taken in the Fall of my sweet little niece many years ago picking berries off a bush, she loved and still loves to pick berries!! Of course these were not edible so we had to watch her closely to make sure they didn't go into her mouth lol!!  Here is the embellishment kit for those interested:

Make sure and stop by The ScrapRoom blog to see what other amazing layouts the DT created with this beautiful kit and stop by The ScrapRoom store to pick up your very own kit, you will love them!!!  Happy creating!

May Great Stash Bash kit!!

Yay!  We made it to May!!  May is an amazing month for me each year and I really look forward to it! Of course there is NSD and it's also the birthday month for Sketch N Scrap which I co-founded 8 years ago!! All those festivities kick off tomorrow at Sketch N Scrap so make sure and follow us on Facebook and the blog!!  Today's it's a new month so that means it's time to launch Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash 2020 kit for May!!
For those who are new to the challenge here is how it works:
On the 1st of each month we will post a challenge prompt and the stash kit we have created following that prompt. During the month we will try to use as much of our stash kits as possible on different projects. Then, on the last day of the month, we will do a recap post showing what stash we were able to bash!
This will be a just-for-fun challenge so no monthly prize - but isn't the real prize using up our stash? You never know - if we still have a few unused stash items after a few months, then those items may just go into a giveaway. We hope you will join us in our quest to bash some stash in 2020. If you accept the challenge to play along - link up on either my blog or Lori's blog (or both if you choose) so that we can see who is joining us each month!
Now for our May challenge:
This month we will create a kit with 10 papers (seven papers 3 years or older & three newer papers), 5-7 scrap papers, 4 embellishments (three that are 3 years or older & one newer one), and some FLOWERS!!
Since this is a just for fun challenge the rules are not set in stone BUT we have them to help you focus on what really matters using your stash!  We also hope you will help spread the word of our fun challenge so others may join in!!  You know you have at least one friend who needs to use her stash!!
Here are the rules:
1. Follow the challenge prompt to create a kit to work with throughout the month. You may use other items, but please concentrate on using your kit.
2. Create new, not previously posted projects using your stash kit.
3. If you have a blog - please include the challenge graphic and a link to our challenge in your posts.
4. You may link to social media if you don't have a blog. If you share on Instagram, please make sure to use - #lisaandlorisgreatstashbash2020
Here is the kit I created using the May prompts:

I am loving these colors this month, I'm in a bright colored mood with a splash of grey/black!
Here is a close up of the older papers:
These papers are from the following collections: Elle's Studio Live, Laugh, Love (4), Bella Blvd Family Dynamix (2) and Bella Blvd Sweet, Sweet Spring (purple). I only had this one Sweet Sweet Spring Paper and was glad to see it coordinates well with the Elle's Studio papers!
Here are my newer papers:
These papers are from Simple Stories Oh Happy Day line (yellow), Pebbles Chasing Adventures (red), and Dear Lizzy She's Magic (pink).
Here are the scraps I picked...as you can see one I spilled water on, so not sure the end is able to be salvaged!
None of my scraps had branding strips on them, so I am not sure what lines they are from!  I think the yellow is from Bo Bunny and the reds are from My Mind's Eye, Scenic Route (wow! So old) & Echo Park
Here are my embellishments:

The new embellishment is Pink Pasilee Horizons Thickers, flowers are from Basic Grey (another oldie but goodie) and the older 3 embellishments are from Elle's Studio!! I love all these fun embellishments and hope to use a lot of them this month!!
I hope you will be inspired to dig through your stash this month and play along with myself and Lori as we endeavor to bash some stash in 2020!!  If you chose to play along make sure and link up below, we'd love to see what you have put together for a kit & what you create with it!  Happy creating friends!
