Let Freedom Ring!

Happy Memorial Day! I am working today but I know many of you have a long weekend and I hope you will enjoy some scrappy time today! I am so glad we have set aside a day to stop and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.  How blessed we all are because of them! A few years ago we visited Washington, D.C. and during our time there we visited Arlington National Cemetery.  This was my second time there and I was so glad to be able to share this visit with my son so he could learn of the history of those hallowed and sacred grounds and see the beauty of this place.  It is awe inspiring for sure!  I thought these pictures from when we visited the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier deserved a layout all to themselves.  The first picture of the cemetery was taken as we walked up to the Tomb of the Unknown and then of course the second was at the actual Tomb. Every Memorial Day since my first visit to Arlington National Cemetery these are the images I have in my mind when I think about Memorial Day.  These amazing men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for me and those who stand watch at the Tomb of the Unknown night and day no matter what the weather!  Wow, so amazing!  Here is my layout:
Supplies Used: Paper House Productions- Let Freedom Ring Paper Pad ; wood veneer stars:Studio Calico; gold enamel dot: Paper Studio

I knew when I saw the Let Freedom Ring paper pad it would be perfect for documenting that special memory of our time at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.  The papers in this pad were a perfect back drop for my photos, and I love that it also includes a 12 x 12 sheet of stickers for embellishing your pages. I used one of the cut apart papers to cut out this 4 x 6 flag to use as a backdrop for the larger sticker of the USA map. I then added my title directly on the map sticker placing it to the left of my photos to add balance. I tore the blue map paper to give the layout some texture and used these torn pieces as borders around my pictures. Here is a close up:
I then added my title under my pictures and embellished with a star sticker from the paper pad as well as some wood veneer stars. I finished off the bottom of the layout with two banners cut from one of the cut apart cards included in the paper pad. The pops of gold on some of the papers and the cut apart accents are divine and give your pages an elegant sparkle as shown here on the cut apart border I added over the torn map paper. Here is a close up:
This layout is based on Sketch #177 at Sketch N Scrap by Heather Hall.  Here is the sketch the layout is based on:
This is another layout completed for my Bingo card!  Marking off the bottom right square for the May 15th sketch! The 7th Birthday Bash Bingo game is still going on over at the Sketch N Scrap private group until May 31st so make sure and check out all the fun challenges and inspiration!!  Join me in working towards a bingo- just 2 more squares to go in 2 different places to get a BINGO!!
I hope you have the opportunity to visit Arlington National Cemetery at some time and get to see the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier as it is truly a memorable experience. Enjoy your holiday and stop and join me in a moment of silence and reflection at 3 pm CST today as we remember those who sacrificed for our Freedom! Let Freedom Ring!

Card sketch #145

Happy Hump Day!  I am continuing to slowly work on my bingo card for Sketch N Scraps's 7th Birthday Bingo Bash party!
We are playing Scrappy Bingo all month long in our "Bingo Hall" (closed Facebook group) to celebrate!!  Make sure and join us, you can request to join HERE.
Today's bingo square is for the May 5th card sketch.  Here is the fun sketch by sketch artist Heather Hall:

Here is my card using this fun sketch:
Supplies Used:  Card base: CTMH; Patterned Paper: CTMH Feels Like Home & Basics; Punch: Butterfly- Martha Stewart; rhinestones: CTMH; ink: CTMH black & stamp set: CTMH builder basic
I love this soft color palette and amazing prints of this paper! I think this card turned out beautifully and I know this sketch is one I will turn to time and time again as it is so versatile!!  This card put me one square closer to a bingo!  I had great hopes of having achieved if not one but TWO bingos by now, but of course, life gets in the way of our crafty time at times and therefore I am still on my trek towards my first bingo!  Wish me luck!
Two more squares to go to get a BINGO!!!  Make sure and check out the amazing cards created by the other DT members on the Sketch N Scrap blog!  I hope to see you in the Bingo Hall! Happy creating friends!

Paper House Productions ~ Wonder Woman Gift Bag & Card

Howdy!! I'm up on the Paper House blog again today sharing another fun project using Paper House products!  I had so much fun working with this fun Wonder Woman collection!  It is perfect for the strong, confident & extraordinary woman in your life!  This is a gift bag and card I created for a friend who is going through a rough patch right now.
Supplies Used: Wonder Woman Cardstock Stickers; Wonder Woman Portraits Foil Paper; Wonder Woman Tags Foil Paper; Wonder Woman; Wonder Woman Amazon Princess Foil Paper; Wonder Woman Confidence & Strength Foil Paper and Wonder Woman Logos Faux Enamel Stickers

I used a plain kraft gift bag and made a front for my gift bag by mounting the portrait of Wonder Woman on some cardstock, layering it on the Confidence & Strength paper and then adding a small strip of the foil paper on the bottom. Lastly I added the Wonder Woman cardstock sticker on pop dots to give the bag some dimension and texture.

My tag was created on one of the cut apart tag on the Wonder Woman Tags Foil Paper, I then die cut a circle & scallop circle out of cardstock and mounted the cardstock Wonder Woman sticker and word "pow" on pop dots onto the circle. I stamped the phrase "I'm Her for you" in black ink. I attached red grossgrain ribbon to my tag with a hand sewn button and then then tied the tag to the bag with gold string. Here is a close up of the tag

To complete the ensemble I made a super quick and easy card. I added the Wonder Woman cardstock sticker as well as a few of the faux enamel stickers to tie in the gold on the bottom layer of the card.

I would love to see what you create using this fun line, if you have a picture drop it in the comments! Make sure and check out what the other Paper House DT has done with this fun collection on the Paper House Blog.  Happy creating!!

Happy NSD with the May Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!  Today I am sharing another layout I created using the amazing May Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom!  Here is the full kit:

Here is the Jillibean Soup Spoonful of Soul mini collection I used for today's layout:

Here is my layout:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Jillibean Soup Spoonful of Soul- from the kit; ephemera: Jillibean Soup Spoonful of Soul- from the kit; card stock: CTMH (brown)- from my stash & kraft- from the kit; enamel dot: My Mind's Eye- from my stash.
I was just over the moon when I saw these beautiful patterns in such amazing colors! This line just screams outside to me so I used these pictures of my friend's granddaughter playing on the porch and I love the result! I backed my strips of patterned paper with brown cardstock to make them pop more.  I used one of the patterns for my background as I just thought this layout needed more color! I set apart my top picture by mounting it on kraft cardstock included in the kit.  This layout is based on the NSD 2019 sketch at Sketch N Scrap.  Here is the sketch designed by yours truly:

We are playing Bingo all month long to celebrate Sketch N Scrap's 7th birthday this month!! This layout was created so I was able to check off my NSD sketch square on my bingo card here:
If you would like to join us in the "Bingo Hall" we will be playing all month long check out our closed group HERE.
There is still plenty of time to play along with this sketch at Sketch N Scrap- you have until May 31st to play along with us for a chance to win an amazing stamp set!! I hope you will go check out the other inspiring layouts the design team created with this kit at The ScrapRoom and with this sketch at Sketch N Scrap!!  Happy creating and Happy NSD!!

May Flavors of the month kit at The ScrapRoom!

TGIF!!! I am so excited to share the May Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom with you today!!  What an incredible kit- I am sure you will agree!!  Here it is:
Since today is Friday we have a super fun challenge on the first Friday of the month at The ScrapRoom called Freaky Fast Friday Formula!  You are given a "recipe" or "formula" to use for you layout and you must create a layout using papers cut to the dimensions stated in the formula.  Here is this month's formula:

Here is my layout I created using the formula and the American Crafts Sparkle City mini collection in May's Flavor of the Month kit:
Supplies Used: Cardstock- white- from the kit; patterned papers: American Crafts Sparkle City- from the kit; stickers: American Crafts Sparkle City- from the kit; foam stickers: American Crafts Thickers- from the embellishment kit.
I love the pops of silver sparkle this kit has!  I love this sticker that says Above All Else Sparkle!  So perfect for the title!  I used the 3 circles called for in the formula as fireworks/sparklers coming out of my title at the top of the picture to give it even more emphasis!  This is my friend's adorable little granddaughter, isn't she the cutest?  I just loved her sweet dress and thought this line really set off her sparkle and was dressy enough for these pictures without overdoing it!  Make sure and check out what the other DT members have done using this kit on The ScrapRoom blog!  If you would like to purchase a kit for yourself you can visit The ScrapRoom store to do so HERE.  Tomorrow we celebrate NSD so make sure and stop by The ScrapRoom blog as we will have lots of FUN challenges for NSD this weekend but also there is a sale going on at The ScrapRoom store starting now through Sunday make sure and check it out!!  Happy creating!
