December 1st sketch @ Sketch N Scrap

Happy December!!  I can't believe it's a new month already!  The holidays are just around the corner, are you ready??  I am in a Christmas mood so I decided to make a Christmas layout using the December 1st sketch at Sketch N Scrap as well as the December Flavors of the month kit at The ScrapRoom!  Here is the fun kit I am working with this month:

For some reason when I saw this sketch I immediately thought of Christmas ornaments!!  So I decided to try and make them using hand cut circles (I traced 2 plates) and some of the ephemera from the kit!  Of course the bow was perfect, but I was struggling to handcut the other bow when I realized if I turned the scarf included in my kit upside down it worked for the top of the ornament!! These are pictures from the second birthday party of my friend's sweet granddaughter! I loved the fun bold papers and colors included in the kit.  The bold and bright ephemera were the perfect accents for my pictures!! Double page layout fun

Today is my day to share my double page layout using the Flavors of the month kit at The ScrapRoom.  Here is a reminder of the full kit:

I just love the bright color palette of this line! The patterns are fun as well.  The ephemera is cute and my favorite piece was this big swan floatie!  I layered a word strip on top of it and placed my title right above it! It made for a nice title embellishment!!  The tag worked great for making an embellishment cluster to balance out my title! April Flavors of the month kit

Happy Monday!! Today it's my turn to host another fun challenge in the monthly Facebook group for Sketch N Scrap!  For my challenge I am using the April Flavors of the month kit at The ScrapRoom and an oldie but goodie sketch from Sketch N Scrap!  This sketch was from August of 2018!  The challenge is to create a layout based on this sketch with the added fun OPTIONAL TWIST to use a SPRING color palette on your layout!  Here is the sketch created by yours truly:

I LOVED this color palette! It's so soft and looks amazing with your ice cream pics, however the "B" sides are very neutral, so you could really use these papers with any type of pictures! I loved the paper I used for my background because it has the ink splats are already printed on the paper!! How easy is that?  Plus it gives that fun mixed media look without all the mess!  These are pictures of my niece and nephew way back when in 2014 eating ice cream after a fun hot day at the zoo!  I couldn't believe when I found this journal card in my stash, it totally matches the ink splats/color palette of this collection...what a great find! April 1st sketch at Sketch N Scrap!

TGIF!!  I don't know about you but it seems as if all the days are running together and when I wake up I have to check my phone to see what day it is!  Today I am sharing my layout made using the April 1st sketch at Sketch N Scrap created by yours truly!  Here is the sketch:

I just love how this turned out!  Everything I used on this layout was from my April 2020 Great Stash Bash kit except the red paper which is an older paper from the Fancy Pants Happy Place collection.  I have almost used up this entire collection.  I was using a yellow paper from my kit in place of the red but it washed out my pictures so I went with the red which looked much better!  So one layout created with my Stash Bash kit already this month!  Hopefully there are many more to come! This is the last time my niece and I were able to get together before the stay home orders went in place.  She was bored from being out of school for 2 weeks and so we got together to craft and make cards!  We had so much fun, looking back I was thinking we would have many more meet ups while she was out of school but no such luck as we are staying away as we have been instructed to and just texting...I can't wait to we can make some fun cards together again soon!  If you want to see my entire April 2020 Great Stash Bash kit then you can see it and read about this fun challenge HERE!  I hope you will join me and my friend Lori and shop your stash to create a fun kit to use over the next month!  Also don't forget to check out the Sketch N Scrap blog and see what amazing layouts the DT has created with this sketch.  Happy creating! 

Lucky to have a Friend Like you!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!  I am not Irish and never celebrate St. Patrick's Day but I was gifted this amazing line by Simple Stories and just had to play with it!  I created this card for Sketch N Scrap's monthly Facebook challenge group, it was my turn to host the challenge today and what better challenge then to use a fun sketch I created and the color green as the optional twist?!  I used this sketch:

I love the color combo of green and navy and love how this card turned out!  This is my new favorite sentiment too!! I just love the look of torn paper yet I rarely use it anymore, so I went old school on this layout and used some torn edges which I think fit in great with the vintage feel to this wonderful kit!!  I also printed my photos with a fun vintage filter to go along with the rustic/vintage vibe of this line and I love how it turned out!  Everything on the layout is from the kit and as you can see it a ton of fun supplies!! This layout is one of the October challenges in the Sketch N Scrap Facebook monthly challenges group this month.  The challenge is to use Sketch #152 to create a layout with the OPTIONAL TWIST to add plaid to your layout! I adore plaid and always seem to gravitate towards collection that have some plaid papers or embellishments!  I had so much fun with this kit, I like Halloween collections that aren't so spooky but rather cute and this one fit the bill in that department for sure, just love that cute weenie dog!!  I hope you will join in the fun this month at the Sketch N Scrap Monthly Facebook challenges and make sure and check out what the other DT members did with this fun collection on the ScrapRoom blog!! Fancy Pants Yellow Door ~ January Flavors of the month kit!

Happy Hump Day!!  I am so excited to share another layout with you created using the January Flavors of the month kit at The ScrapRoom!  Today I am sharing a double page layout I created using the Fancy Pants Yellow Door line, which is one of the four mini lines included in the kit!  Here is a reminder of the full kit:

I had so much fun creating this layout using pictures from my friend's Fall family photo shoot!  The colors in these papers were perfect for these pictures!  I loved using the cut apart tags to make the border on the left page, such cheap embellishments!  I also added a few word/phrase stickers from the embellishment kit along with some enamel dots from my stash.  Make sure and head over to the ScrapRoom blog to see what the other DT members did with this amazing kit!!  I can't wait to see what you create with it!

Look at this sweetie!! She is so adorable!  This is Miss Tinsley the granddaughter of my friend.  I truly enjoyed scrapping these sweet photos!  This line was perfect for these sweet baby girl photos and matched her little headband perfectly!
