My Little Sketch Book fun

Have had a great weekend so far, gonna be sad to see it come to an end....but I did get a chance to play along with another fun sketch over at My Little Sketch Book. This sketch is by Liz Qualman, and I thought it was perfect for this picture of my son from last year! Just love this pic of him! I used Pink Paislee Cupid punch outs, Making Memories Lovestruck papers, and alphabets by Making Memories and October Afternoon. Everything but the October Afternoon letters were from the February Personalscrapper kit. Hope you were able to find some creative time for yourself this weekend as well! Have a great Sunday everyone!

Sketchy Saturday

Now I know a lot of you are snowed in this weekend, so I thought I would share another sketch by yours truly for some inspiration! This is a sketch I designed for February's crop at Personalscrapper, and there were some fabulous layouts made from it! This is my first attempt at a two pager (which I rarely do) so it was a bit more difficult for me, but I liked how it turned out. I was able to scrap some recent pics of my son playing basketball. This is his last year at Upward basketball and today is his last game. We are both a bit bummed about it, cuz he has played since second grade and just LOVES it! I loved the colors of the teams this year, as orange and blue are really my two fav colors to scrapbook with. I was able to use some older Stampin' Up papers from my stash as well as a REALLY old piece of Bo Bunny blue paper that I got when I first started scrapping. The stamped images are from two retired STampin Up sets that I use all the time for scrapbooking and boys birthday cards....have so gotten my money's worth on these two sets! Hope you will find this sketch useful when you create next time and if you use it please share it with us all, I'd love to see your work...post a link in the comment section and share the love bebe!!! Have a great weekend everyone!

Sketch 98

Here is another one of the layouts I did for Personalscrapper's online crop last week. It is based on sketch 98 on the GOT SKETCH blog by Valerie Salmon. This sketch is super easy to work with and was able to make this layout in under 30 minutes! I have so many 5x7 pictures I need to scrap and this one was perfect for this sketch. The challenge I created this layout for was the "OLYMPIC" challenge where we were to use 5 or more circles on our layout. I used Scenic Route papers and chipboard..in fact I think this line (Grafton) is now 50% off now if you don't have it or want more! I love a sale but hate it that Scenic Route is closing. If you have used this sketch or decide to please leave a link in the comments, I'd love to see your take on the sketch!

Keep on Croppin'

Even though it is a weekday I am still cropping. The Personalscrapper crop is still going on until today, and I am chugging away at all 10 challenges trying to complete them...so far I have done six and started on the seventh. I wanted to complete all 10 but it ain't gonna happen unless for some reason my boss calls and gives me the day off! LOL! I did want to share two layouts I did using my September 2009Personalscrapper kit The first one is of my son after his recent band solo and ensemble performace earlier in the month. This was his first competition and he sailed through it earning a ONE PLUS...the funny thing is we didn't know what the scoring was and if one was good or bad...until the teacher told us. Kind of funny, we were in the hall with his rating trying to decide if he did good or bad...he told me "Mom, I know I didn't suck that bad so a one must be good" (the ratings were 1-4) then we find out that a ONE PLUS is the best you can get! YEAH! I was so proud of him. The other pic is a scan of the rating sheet from the judge. This layout was done for the challenge to scraplift Erica's layout you can see here. The second layout was done for the alphabet challenge for which you were to use two or more alphas in your title...I used Scenic Route chipboard, Jillibean Soup letters (word- zone) and then the small black fabric thickers. This layout is using sketch one from Got Sketch 105..it started Monday...loving this class! It's not to late to join..check it out here. These photos are of my son and nephew Christmas day "zoning" out playin their new DS lites...can you tell they were in the "DS zone"? Thanks for stopping by to check out my layouts..gotta go to work so I can come home and crop some more!

Sketch 53

Its Monday and what is my favorite part of Monday's??? The reveal of the new sketch at The Scrappiest! This week's sketch was fun, it is an easy one to rotate or flip as can see I totally flipped it on it's head! The other fun thing was I was able to use this sketch to use up some of those papers by My Minds Eye that I have been hoarding! These are from my first ever Personalscrapper kit from way back in 2007!!! I loved that kit so much I was hoarding my scraps, but decided that I could deem them scrapworthy enough for this fun sketch LOL! I am sure Liz is honored! The rub ons for the word SUMMER are also My Mind's Eye and the letters are Thickers the font is GIGGLES (love that font). The popsicle is from Cosmo Cricket and the popsicle stick is from Basic Grey (now this is an oldie got in back when I started scrappin'!) So fun to use older stash and still like your layout! And don't forget to play along with us at The Scrappiest to be entered to win a great prize pack from Scrap for a Cure! Can't wait to see your layouts!

Sketch 52 from The Scrappiest!

Another fun week with a great sketch over at The Scrappiest! My layout is title 1972 and has some old pics of me and my sister from that year...these were really starting to show their age (unlike me LOL!) and I wanted to get them scanned and scrapped. My new Epson scanner restored the color pretty well I thought, as the originals were super faded! LOVE technology don't you? I used my February kit from Personalscrapper for this layout, loving the new Pink Paislee Cupid line! The sticker are from 7 Gypsies (S is for Sister) and the numbers are the Jewerly box Thickers, my favorite font right now! Hope you will play along with this sketch, it is very easy to work with, in fact, I am planning another layout with it, is is SO versatile! Don't forget to link up your layout based on this sketch here for a chance to win a great prize package from Scrap for a Cure!

February Snow Fun

It's been snowing here since 3 am this morning and so far by my yardstick we have got 8.5 inches of snow and it is still snowing! The record for this area in one day is 7.5 inches! WOW! I had a hard time getting up my drive so I shoveled it off, and then went out a few hours later and you couldn't even tell it! We never see this much snow, so we had fun playing in it after Jake got out of school early today. There is no school tomorrow, so not sure if I can make it to work or not, so we may get to play again tomorrow. I can't even imagine the 50 plus inches DC got, can you? The thing that makes it so bad here is that they don't plow it off, they just wait for it to melt! LOL! So driving around is very interesting here, today my neighbors teenage dtr came home and got stuck, it was her first time to drive in snow! With me pushing and telling her which way to turn her wheel we got her into her garage safe and sound and that my friends is where I am staying til this melts! LOL! What a great time to scrap huh? Hopefully I will get some mojo later today to make a page or two!

February sketch challenge

Here is a sketch I did for a February sketch challenge over at the Personalscrapper board and a my take on the sketch using the February kit from Personalscrapper! These papers are Pink Paislee's Cupid line and it is absolutely gorgeous! I LOVE it! The heart is from my stash and is a ghost heart from Heidi Swapp, I painted the edges and then cut out the paper heart with my ripple Fiskar scissors! Haven't used those in years! If you want to play along with this sketch you can go here to post your layout and be entered into the drawing for a RAK from me, hope to see your creation soon!

Serious with a side of Silly!

Sketch #51 is up at THE SCRAPPIEST! This was a fun sketch to work with. I used papers by Dream Street from their Urban Ink collection. Too bad they are no longer in business. The bigger letters are Thickers and the little letters are Jenni Bowlin, LOVE these cute little buggers! Right under the larger photo I added just a dab of paint, but it doesn't show up well in the photo unfortunately. These pictures are from the Cowboys game we were so lucky to attend last November! My son is usually pretty serious so when he starts acting silly I better be quick to snap those shots! These were some of my favorite photos of him from last year. I hope you will play along with myself and the other DT members this week, we'd LOVE to see your take on this sketch and even better, it enters you into the prize giveaway for February! Gotta love that! Happy Monday everyone, check back tomorrow when I will share my very own sketch and a layout using some new Pink Paislee!

Sketch #50

Here is my first ever DT assignment layout for The Scrappiest! I have had these pics for a LONG time and never done anything with them and since this month we celebrate President's Day, I thought it was a good opportunity to use them. The fun thing about these pics is the story behind them...my son had to do a Living Musuem project in third grade, and we together selected George Washington (well, I kind of picked it cuz I had a ton of info on him and thought he would be easy, my son wanted to do Emmitt Smith...) So almost every kid in the class rents a costume for their character...well, I am a HUGE cheapskate and I refused to pay for a costume. So I made one out of paper! The hat is made of paper with curly ribbon for his hair. THe shoes are my crocs with paper silver buckles and my knee highs. And the front of his shirt is paper that I curled. The suit jacket we already had...well, he to this day is totally embarrassed his MOM MADE his costume..but the teacher said it was the best one she had seen....so I think it turned out good. Just had to document this fun story for my grandkids! Don't forget to hop on over to THE SCRAPPIEST and check out the other DT members awesome layouts, great stuff, and if you want to try your hand at the sketch you can and maybe win a great prize, just link your project in Mr Linky on Liz's blog! Easy Peasy and TONS OF FUN! Can't wait to see your take on the sketch!
