Laughing Lola Card

Hope everyone had a blessed Christmas filled with lots of family time, laughter, and many shared memories!  Today is my turn to share another wonderful project for Lori Brown's CTMH design team!  I had originally planned to share a Christmas card with you, but my best laid plans were not to be....sigh....I didn't get ONE Christmas card made this year! (blush)!!!   This is the first year of at least 10 that I didn't make my own cards and from the looks of my mailbox I see many of you were right there with me :o)  However, to make up for it I decided to send out cards to all my buddies, family and friends in January and February (yes, I am giving myself a big window lol!  I can't fail twice in a row, it will ruin my self esteem!)  Here is one design I came up with:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: CTMH Laughing Lola; Cardstock:Very Vanilla Stampin Up;
 Stamp set: CTMH A Garden;  Die cut: Tag, heart- Stampin Up; Punch- Heart- McGill;
 Ribbon- American  Crafts; bling: Kaiser Crafts; Ink: Perfect Plum- Stampin Up

The Laughing Lola papers are so versatile and fun! They are perfect for a warm winter wishes card. I was able to make 2 of the exact card using just 2 sheets of 6 x 6 paper!  The stamp set A Garden has not only some lovely images but great sentiments as well and for just $6.95 it is a STEAL!  I find that I use it over and over all year long!  If you are so inclined to do some after Christmas shopping then don't forget to visit Lori's CTMH store and click on the link Lisa's My Creative Endeavors sent me!  I hope everyone has a Blessed New Year & is able to squeeze in a little more creative time before the year end!

Page Drafts Christmas Layout

As Christmas fast approaches I find myself looking back through old pictures and reliving memories of Christmas' past.  What better way to recapture those fond memories then to scrapbook those memories! I realized why looking back that I had neglected to scrap these pictures of my son and myself with Santa Claus from 2010.  Wow! I don't want to let those memories go by undocumented so I used a fun new sketch from Page Drafts (who doesn't love Emma's sketches?) to document these fond magical memories!
Here is the sketch:

And here is the layout I created based on this wonderful sketch:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: dot background Crate Paper Bundled Up; Webster's
Pages It's Christmas; stickers: Webster's Pages It's Christmas, Santa's list- 7 Gypsies;
wood veneer stars and numbers- Studio Calico; letter stickers: Webster's Pages It's
Christmas; cardstock- Brushed Gold and Really Red by Stampin Up.

I hope you will find time this busy season to document some of your fond Christmas memories and maybe some new ones by using some of the newest Page Drafts sketches!  They are so fun to use, I plan on using some of the other ones to document the pictures I take this holiday season!

Give Thanks in Everything

Today I'm sharing a card for Lori's CTMH Design Team.   I have been taking time to reflect on my many blessings and in the spirit of the holiday decided to create a card that reflects that.
Supplies Used: CTMH patterned paper: Huntington; Rub on: Bo Bunny;
Stamp: French Foliage Stampin Up; cardstock and ink: CTMH, Desert Sand

I love using up my stash and this Bo Bunny rub on has been in my stash for at least a year, it is so pretty but I was saving it for the "right" layout but decided it would make a perfect card and looks wonderful with the Huntington Paper!  The basic card "layout" is one of my standard go to formulas!  It is easy to make and always looks appealing....here is another card made with the same "layout" or formula:

Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: CTMH Sarita;  Cardstock,: Stampin Up;
Ink: Stampin Up; Stamp set: Happy Harmony & Simply the Best Stampin Up
roller: unknown source

I rotated the card to make it a horizontal one this time but followed the same basic layout using different supplies which creates a totally different looking card!  I LOVE this color combo!  The Sarita paper pack is one of my FAVORITES from CTMH!  It seems to coordinate with so many things I already have in my stash!  I love taking something old (Bo Bunny rub on, retired SU stamps set) and combining it with something newer (CTMH papers) to make my projects have a new feel!  Its so tempting to buy all new stamps, inks etc and I love to do it but when the budget is tight like it is this time of year why not make your old stuff new again by adding some awesome papers that might give an otherwise "old " embellishment new life!  I know once I used up all of the paper from a line I always have TONS of embellishments left over and this is one way to use those up.  I think you will find both the Huntington and Sarita paper packs coordinate well with a lot of your stash!  If you are so inclined to do some holiday shopping early, don't forget to visit Lori's CTMH site and click on the link Lisa's My Creative Endeavors sent me!  I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Sketch N Scrap #45

Is everyone ready for Christmas?  I'm ready to get my shopping started, yes, I said "started!"...I haven't done much shopping yet, thinking this year will be one of those marathon Black Friday shopping sprees where I complete my list in less then 24 hours!  Wish me luck!  Our last layout sketch for November is up at Sketch N Scrap today!  This sketch by Kelly is sure to get your creative juices flowing!

I decided to get in the Christmas spirit and create a Christmas layout:
Supplies used: Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned Paper: Basic Grey Jovial; stickers:
Basic Grey Jovial, My Mind's Eye Be Merry; Letters: American Craft Thickers & Paper
Trunk; ribbon: Little Yellow Bicycle; bling & pearls: Kaisercraft; faux stitching: Doodlebug

These pictures of my son, niece and nephew together right before opening gifts were so fun, I was excited to scrap them.  We had to bribe them to take a few good pictures and not let them open their gifts until said pictures were taken!  I'm trying it again this year, it worked so well last year!  I hope you will have time to join us at Sketch N Scrap this month and play along with one of our sketches!  It's easy to play along, just create a card or layout from one of our sketches and link it up by November 30th for a chance to win at $25 gift certificate to Kiwi Lane Designs our awesome November sponsor!

Have a happy Scrappy weekend my friends!

Everyday's a Holiday at Sketch N Scrap!

Welcome to Sketch N Scrap's holiday hop! I hope you have been enjoying seeing the multitude of fun and creative holiday projects the design team has shown you so far! I know I have been inspired! Today we are celebrating the red, white and blue!  My holiday is Independence Day!  I know some of you don't celebrate this holiday if you live outside of the United States, but you still get to play along with us today!  I decided to create a layout using the colors red, white& blue:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Authentique Glory; Letter stickers: Bella Blvd (red), Making
Memories (script), and Authentique (navy); stickers: Authentique & Bo Bunny; chipboard: Bo Bunny.

Even though this layout doesn't feature your typical Independence Day pictures of fireworks and outdoor fun, I think it definitely captures the essence of what Independence Day is all about.  I decided to show how grateful I am for those who made the ultimate sacrifice so that I can enjoy the wonderful freedom I do today. Over the past 3 years my son and I have visited several historic sites and as we walked on those hallowed grounds at Gettysburg, Valley Forge, and Arlington National Cemetery and visited the World War II and Korean War Memorials and the Vietnam Wall we were just in awe of those who were willing to die for freedom.  Freedom as we all know isn't free and we continue to be ever so grateful for those who have served and continue to serve to keep us that way.  I thought a layout depicting some of the pictures from these sacred places was a great way to remember that freedom isn't free and we should honor those who serve and never ever take this wonderful freedom we have for granted!  Besides sharing the inspiration of my project with you today I also wanted to offer up a little prize as well, because what fun is a blog hop without a prize! One randomly selected winner will win these fun red, white and blue washi tapes, perfect for adding these fun colors to your layouts!  These tapes were purchased at one of my favorite Etsy shops: Spiegel Mom's Scrap Shop!  If you need some fun embellishments for your pages, she has some great prices and neat stuff!
Here are a few ways you can win this fun set of washi tapes!  You get one entry for :

CTMH For Always

Hope everyone's October is going great! I'm excited to share with you another layout created for Lori Brown's CTMH design team!
Here it is:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: For Always & Huntington CTMH; journaling ovals & circles:
 Crate Paper; letter stickers: Jillibean Soup; Cardstock: Stampin Up; stickers: Mambi & Crate Paper

This is a picture of my son and his fellow saxophone players in his Jazz Band. I love that the "B" side of the Huntington papers went so well with the For Always papers! These coordinated nicely with left over journaling circles and ovals I had from the Crate Paper Portrait line! I had one scrap of paper (shown in the right middle) that was from the Crate Paper Portrait line and was able to use that as a pop of color and an accent, (yes, I save pieces that small lol!) thank goodness it was the perfect size!  This goes to show that you can mix and match many different papers and get a look that is coordinated and looks like they were bought together!  This is especially a fun trick when you are down to scraps!  The larger black piece from the For Always line is the "A" side and I was able to use the "B" side (black flowers on white background) for my second pattern, thus using the ENTIRE piece of paper....PLUS the little strip on the bottom that you cut off, is the pretty small black medallion piece in the middle of my layout - this is one feature the CTMH utilizes that I LOVE, lets you use EVERY LAST bit of the paper! So long story short...don't forget those "B" sides!  If you'd like to order of the CTMH products I have used here or any other CTMH products visit Lori's website to shop and click on Lisa My Creative Endeavors sent me link on the home page!  Thanks and hope you have a creative hump day!

Sketch N Scrap #43

Time for our second layout sketch of October! This is a SPOOKY one to play along with!
Sketch by Kelly:

Here is my layout based on it (a not so spooky one!):
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Echo Park Little Boy, A walk in the Park; Fancy Pants
Down by the Shore; washi tape: My Mind's Eye & Bella Blvd; rub ons: Fancy Pants Down
by the Shore; Stickers & metal accent: Fancy Pants Down by the Shore.

My Dad captured this awesome picture of my nephew playing in the tub last year on his 3rd birthday! I loved being able to use these cute whales and sailboat rub ons!  I really do like rub ons and need to use them more often (I have a ton don't you?!)  I love taking a sketch and making it my own, here I only used one photo since that is all I had and also used a single sticker for my title vs alphas! So easy but I think it showcases the photo well!  I hope you will find time to play along with us at Sketch N Scrap this month.  You have until October 31st to complete a layout using this layout to be entered into a chance to win some awesome goodies from ScrapStuffz!  Details are HERE!  Have a happy scrappy day!
