World Card Making Day 2021 sketch #4!

Happy Saturday!  I'm so excited to get some creative time this weekend!  I hope your weekend will be productive & creative as well!  Today we continue with our month long celebration of World Card Making Day 2021 as we celebrate with a new card sketch every Saturday in October!  Today we launch our fourth sketch for WCMD 2021!
Here is the sketch I created:

Here is the card I created using the sketch:
Supplies Used: Cardstock: Stampin' Up Whisper White & Basic Black; Patterned Paper: Carta Bella Welcome Autumn & Stampin' Up (gold grid); stamp: CTMH; ink: Stampin' Up Garden Green; dies: Stampin' Up scallop and stitched circles; sticker: Carta Bella Welcome Autumn; embossing folder: Stampin' Up

I love how this card turned out!  I used all scraps from desk to create this card!  I didn't like how plain the white background was so I pulled out an embossing folder to dress it up and I love the look!  I need to put my embossing folders to work more often, they add so much to your cards!  Goodness knows I have SOOO many that I have no shortage of embossing folders and no excuse to not use them, so be on the look out to see more embossing on my cards and projects!!  Make sure and check out what the other DT members on the Sketch N Scrap blog did with this fun sketch, it will surely inspire you!  I hope you will find time to join in the fun at Sketch N Scrap before the end of the month!  Happy creating!

I loved this sketch and am hoping to use it again real soon!  I used my July Great Stash Bash kit for this layout and was happy with how many different papers and embellishments I was able to use on this layout! These adorable sisters are my friend's granddaughters and I thought their cute dresses were perfect for these papers and my July Great Stash Bash kit!  Even though I used a number of my papers on this layout I am looking at my kit realizing that I didn't make too much of a dent in my kit lol!  I guess I better get to work as the month is almost half over!!  You can learn more about my July Stash Bash kit HERE.  Make sure and visit the Sketch N Scrap blog to see the amazing layouts the other DT members created with this fun sketch!  Happy creating!!

April Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom!

Happy Hump Day!  Today I am sharing another layout I created with the amazing April Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom!
Here is a reminder of the fun kit:

Here is the Carta Bella Flower Garden part of the kit I am working with today:

Here is the layout I created with this awesome kit:
Supplies Used: cardstock: black- from the kit and Pink Pirouette by Stampin' Up- from my stash; Patterned Paper: Carte Bella Flower Garden- from the kit; stickers: Carta Bella Flower Garden- from the kit; die: Stampin' Up stitched circle- from my stash; enamel dots: My Mind's Eye- from my stash

My son came over a few weekends ago to visit.  The weather so gorgeous we went for a walk around our neighborhood.  Then he treated me to a delicious dinner out at Boo Rays a local restaurant!  It was so nice to spend an evening together! He was gracious enough to also indulge me with a selfie taken at the park while we were walking!  Gosh, how lucky am I?  This kit just screamed Spring so I felt it was perfect to document this rare photo of myself and my son!  It seems once your kiddos are older those pictures are fewer and far between!  Make sure and head over to The ScrapRoom blog and check out the amazing layouts the DT has created with this fun kit!  Happy creating!

February's Freak Fast Friday Formula at The ScrapRoom

TGIF!!  Today I am sharing my layout created using the Freaky Fast Friday Formula at The ScrapRoom!  I used the Flavors of the Month kit to create this fun layout!!
Here is a reminder of the kit:

Here is the Formula for February:

And here is my layout using the kit & the Freaky Fast Friday Formula:
Supplies Used: Cardstock: white- from the kit; Patterned Paper: Let's Celebrate by Carta Bella- from the kit; stickers: Let's Celebrate by Carta Bella- from the kit; Pen: Precision by American Crafts- from my stash
I will admit this formula through me for a bit of a loop at first with all the smaller squares but I decided to do a "grid" pattern using the squares and the stickers and love how it turned out!  I just love the amazing texture of Carta Bella papers!  To make the squares "pop" even more I outlined them all with a black pen!  This photo is of my nephew on his last birthday!!  Looks like he had a great one with all these fun gifts don't you think?  I thought the colors were perfect for this photo!!  Even though this is a birthday kit if you use the "B" side of the papers like I did you could absolutely make any type of layout with these papers!!  Of course, the stickers are pretty much birthday themed but the papers can be either way!  Make sure and visit The ScrapRoom blog to check out what the other DT did with this fun kit and this FREAKY FAST FORMULA!!  Happy creating!

January Jumpstart Sketch at The ScrapRoom

Happy Hump Day!  Today I am sharing another layout I created with the January Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom!  Here is a reminder of the full kit:

Here is the Carta Bella Winter Market Kit I used for today's layout:

I also used the January Jumpstart sketch to create today's layout:

Here is my layout using the Flavors of the Month kit & the sketch:
Supplies Used: Card stock: Black- from the kit; Patterned Paper: Carta Bella Winter Market- from the kit; letter stickers: Paper Trunk (work) & American Craft Thickers (Play); enamel dots: Carta Bella Winter Market- from the kit: date stamp: Heidi Swapp- from my stash; chipboard: Carta Bella Winter Market- from the embellishment kit; ink: Memento Tuxedo Black- from my stash; ephemera: (word strip): Carta Bella Winter Market- from the kit; black pen: LePen

I stuck to the sketch pretty closely as you can see.  The only deviation was that I used one of the cute cut apart cards from the kit in place of one of the photos.  I love the Winter feel of these papers and to make them pop even more I outlined all of them in black pen!  This photo is of my brother and nephew clearing some snow from their drive way in 2019!  What a lot of snow!  Make sure and head over to The ScrapRoom blog to check out what the other DT members did with this kit and sketch!  Happy creating!

Sketch N Scrap #213

TGIF!! There is a new sketch up at Sketch N Scrap by sketch artist Stacy and I am playing around with it today!  When I first saw the sketch I knew I had to play with it, it's so fun!!  Here is the amazing sketch:

Here is my layout using the sketch:
Supplies Used: Cardstock: Bazzill- White; Patterned Paper: Simple Stories Cozy Days, Carta Bella Fall Market & Carta Bella Hello Autumn; tag: unknown source, ephemera: Carta Bella Fall Market, stickers: Carta Bella Fall Market; gold leaves and word (sweet): American Craft Thickers.

I am trying to use up some older Fall kits from The ScrapRoom.  I was pleased to see that the newer kit from The ScrapRoom with papers from the Simple Stories Cozy Days line coordinated well with these older lines by Carta Bella!  This picture is of my nephew from 2 years ago!  I can't believe how much he has grown.  I love the pops of gold the word "Sweet" and the leaves bring to my layout, I love how it turned out!  I hope you will join us this month at Sketch N Scrap!  Make sure and hop on over to the Sketch N Scrap blog to see what the other DT members did with this fun sketch!  Happy creating!

November 5th card at Sketch N Scrap!

Happy weekend!!  Have you had time to play along with the November 5th card sketch at Sketch N Scrap yet?  I created this sketch and have made a few cards with it so far!  Here is the sketch:

Here is one of the cards I created using this fun sketch:
Supplies Used: cardstock: Stampin' Up: kraft & whisper White; patterned paper: Carta Bella Fall Market & Echo Park My Favorite Fall; embossing folder: CTMH; stickers: Carta Bella Fall Market; black pen: Sharpie; stamp: Stampin' Up; ink: Tuxedo Black by Memento.

This card came together so fast using this sketch! I used two left over kits from The ScrapRoom from last September & October.  I am trying to "kill" at least one of my older kits each month to keep them from piling up.  Most of them are just scraps!! This month I hope to "kill" two kits!  So far I have been very successful and my drawer of old kits actually has room in it for more!  I was out of room in the drawer and all the other drawers are full so it was time to start using up some scraps!  Make sure and visit Sketch N Scrap's blog to see what the other DT members created with this sketch!  Happy creating!

Cookin' Up Creations Color challenge fun!

Good evening friends!! Today I am so excited to be sharing my first ever challenge as a member of the Cookin' Up Creations Creative Challenge Team!!   For the month of July we are focusing on the color WHITE plus one additional color for every challenge!!  My assigned color for this challenge was PINK!!  Well, how easy is that?  I love pink!! The hardest part of this challenge for me was picking what pink paper to use!  You are only to use WHITE plus the one color of the day (in my case pink) and your layout must be 75% white plus 25% the challenge color!  Every Monday the challenge has the additional challenge to use a sketch.  I was able to pick the sketch and I chose this sketch created by Heather Hall for Sketch N Scrap:

Here is the layout I created based on the sketch and on the challenge to use WHITE + PINK

Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Carta Bella It's a Girl; Cardstock: White- Baszill; Stickers: PhotoPlay Paper About a Little Girl & Carta Bella It's a Girl.

I had so much fun with the sketch! These photos of my friend's little granddaughter as a newborn are just so precious! They were perfect for a pink & white layout! I think the large amount of cardstock is perfect as it really makes these precious photos pop!  I hope you are able to join us at Cookin' Up Creations as we play with color this month!! Make sure and head on over to the forum to see what other colors we are playing with, I am sure you will find your favorite color featured one day soon!!!  Happy creating!
