TN Time with Lisa & Lori~ September edition!

Happy September!!  Fall is drawing near, the morning's have been a lot cooler and the air is turning crisp on certain evenings here in Texas!!  After so much hot weather it's a welcome relief!! It's a new month and that means a new challenge so let's get the party started with another edition of our TN Time with Lisa & Lori challenge!

HERE IS HOW OUR CHALLENGE WORKS:
This is a monthly challenge that launches on the 10th of each month  You will have until the 9th at midnight CST to link up your entries. If you complete my sketch challenge link your TN, bullet journal or planner spread below. If you combined my challenge with Lori's challenge link up your spread here on my blog AND on Lori's Blog (My Happy Life). This is a "just for fun" challenge with no prize, but isn't the real prize just documenting your memories and getting more pages done in 2022???!!!!

Now for my challenge!! Here is this month's sketch:

Here is Lori's Challenge for this month (September 10th-October 9th):

Here is my spread created with the sketch and using Lori's September challenge:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: CTMH Grateful Heart & Stampin' Up (woodgrain); cut apart card: Bo Bunny Beautiful Things; cardstock: Stampin' Up Night of Navy & Early Espresso; letter stickers: American Crafts Thickers; puffy hearts: Bo Bunny Beautiful Things; ephemera: Pink Fresh Studios Fall Splendor; chipboard sticker: Pink Fresh Studios Fall Splendor & word strip: Pink Fresh Studios Fall Splendor; tab punch: We R Memory Keepers & Stampin' Up circle punches.

I am still working on my 2021 album, and have made it to October of 2021 so just a few more pages and it will be done!  I am determined to finish it this year!  Since the sketch didn't really allow much room to journal I made my cut apart card a pocket and using my tab punch I created my own tag and tucked it behind the cut apart quote card which is where I have added my journaling.

Some close ups:
I loved this beautiful cut apart card from the new Bo Bunny Beautiful Things collection!  Everything I used on this spread (except the green dot paper) is from my September Stash Bash kit!  It was super easy to create this spread using my kit and the sketch!

Lori's challenge for us this month is to use tags and since I love tags it wasn't much of a challenge in all honesty!  I hand cut these tags from the patterned paper and then punched out the hole reinforcers from cardstock. I love creating my own tags!!

NOW FOR THE RULES FOR THE CHALLENGE:
1.Create a TRAVELER'S NOTEBOOK, PLANNER, OR BULLET JOURNAL spread based on the CHALLENGE THEME and/or our sketch.

TN Time with Lisa & Lori ~ September Edition!

TGIF!! Are you planning some creative time this weekend?  I sure hope so!!!  It's time to kick off our next edition of TN Time with Lisa & Lori!!  So let's get this party started!

HERE IS HOW OUR CHALLENGE WORKS: This is a monthly challenge that launches on the 10th of each month  You will have until the 9th at midnight CST to link up your entries. If you complete my sketch challenge link your TN, bullet journal or planner spread below. If you combined my challenge with Lori's challenge link up your spread here on my blog AND on Lori's Blog (My Happy Life). For 2021 we are making this challenge a "just for fun" challenge with no prize, but isn't the real prize just documenting your memories and getting more pages done in 2021???!!!!
Now for my challenge!! Here is this month's sketch:

Now for Lori's challenge for September: (September 10th-October 9th):

What a fun challenge! I love doilies so that was a super easy item for me to add to my spread, but I will say Mint Green took a little digging as it is not a color I use all the time, but that makes the challenge all that more fun!! It's always fun to switch things up a bit and get out of your comfort zone!!
Here is my layout using the sketch and Lori's challenge:

Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Simple Stories So Happy Together & We R Memory Keepers Honey I'm Home (woodgrain); cardstock: Pistachio Pudding- Stampin' Up; doily: Stampin' Up; ephemera and stickers: Simple Stories So Happy Together; stamp & dies: Chelsea Gardens - CTMH; Letter Stickers: Jillibean Soup; Quote: Jillibean Soup Farmhouse Stew; enamel hearts: Doodlebug Designs Shape Sprinkles & Pink Paislee Lucky Us; enamel flower/dots: Dear Lizzy She's Magic

As you can see I used A LOT of different things from my stash on this project!  In fact, I tried to limit myself to the things on my desk in an effort to use up some stash!  I have had a goal all year to stamp on in my TN and I FINALLY did it!!  I don't use my stamps as much as I should but I finally dusted off this long forgotten stamp/die set to use for my leaves!!  It felt good to stamp again!!
Now for a few close ups:

I love these small enamel hearts, something I can't get enough of!! I also love adding a tiny staple where I can, love that look too!!  Here you can see a snippet of the MINT GREEN patterned paper I added under my photo.

Here is a close up of the leaves! I used the leaves to add a bit more MINT GREEN to my spread, this color is actually called Pistachio Pudding but I think it is a pretty mint green!  I love the color combo of MINT GREEN, navy and pink!!
Now for the nitty gritty of how to play along:

Donut Delight!

This month at Cookin' Up Creations we are focusing on all things circular!!  Just imagine listening to "You Spin Me Round (like a Record) by Dead or Alive on CD while outside playing Frisbee with your neighbors, or watching your kids on the merry-go-round while eating bagels and donuts from  your favorite shop.  Let's not forget the coins we used to make that purchase....so many "round" things to choose from!  Today it's my turn to host our "circular" challenge and I chose DONUTS!!  Yummy!!  My challenge is for you to create a layout using donuts on it (paper, embellishments, pictures etc...) and use the word "DONUT" in your title!!!   Here is my layout I create for this challenge:

So let's get this party started:

HERE IS HOW OUR CHALLENGE WORKS: This is a monthly challenge that launches on the 10th of each month  You will have until the 9th at midnight CST to link up your entries. If you complete my sketch challenge link your TN, bullet journal or planner spread below. WOW!

Now for my challenge!! Here is this month's sketch:

Now for Lori's fun challenge: (September 10th through October 9th):

So let's go old school and tear some paper friends!!  What a simple yet striking technique to give a great look to our layouts!
Here is my spread using both the sketch & Lori's challenge to tear some paper on your project!  As you can see I chose to tear the strip of paper under my quote box!  I love the look of torn paper don't you?

Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: CTMH Mix In and Every Little Thing lines; journal tabs: Elle's Studio & PinkFresh Studios; quote: Crate Paper Magical Forest; frame: PinkFresh Studios Indigo Hills; stickers: CTMH Every Little Thing (heart, round flower & circle w/ heart) & Crate Paper ( word "Sweet" & cat); Doily: Stampin' Up; ephemera heart & word strips: PinkFresh Studios; Letter Stickers: Making Memories.

Here are a few close ups:
I loved this quote and was excited to find that it matched well with my September Great Stash Bash kit!!  To see more on my Great Stash Bash kit for this month you can click HERE.  Since the pandemic I really find it to be true that happiness is inside the smallest of moments!  I wanted to capture this small everyday moment of myself and my sister's cat Chester in my spread this month!  Chester isn't really into selfies but he did oblige me for one fast selfie as you can see!!

As you can see I switched the sides where the full sheet of paper was in my TN vs in the sketch!  I found it just flowed better.  I also added half of a doily under my picture to give my layout the softer feel that I was seeking to achieve with my papers and embellishments, but other than that I pretty much stayed true to the sketch!   Now for the nitty gritty details:

Cookin' Up Creations ~ Name That Tune!

I'm back with another fun challenge for you today!  Today I am hosting the Game Show Challenge of the Day at Cookin' Up Creations!! For the month of August we are basing all the challenges on various game shows!! Today I have selected the game show: "Name That Tune".  Did you know Name That Tune started way back in 1952?  It was a long running show that last aired in 1985 Wow!!  I used to love watching this show when I was younger, but I must admit I rarely could "Name That Tune"!!!  For my challenge you must create a layout that uses a song title as your layout title!! Easy peasy!! The hardest part was selecting which song I wanted to use!!   Here is my layout I created for this challenge:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: CTMH Craft On (background); Bella Blvd Island Escape (Pink raindrops); PhotoPlay Paper Let's Stay Home (Yellow stripe); Echo Park I Love Spring (pink flower & yellow/white stripe- banner); CTMH I Heart Us (purple & pink striped strip at top), Echo Park It's Your Birthday (Pink banner strip); Cardstock: Bo Bunny Swiss Dot; stickers: Echo Park Teen Spirit Girl; clouds: Bella Blvd- fussy cut from paper

When I was going through my stickers on one of my stash reorganization gigs I noticed that the quote was "Girls Can Change the World" which was funny since it is a song my niece loves!!  When we get crafty together we always play music and she loves to share her favorite songs with me, many of them I'm not to excited to listen to as I don't care for them, but this one has a catchy tune and the lyrics I found were positive and uplifting!  Here is my favorite verse from the song:
"I think it's time that
We turn some things around
We gotta stop trying
To tear each other down
If we shine
If we share the love we found
Girls can change the world"
Girls Can Change the World by PureNG
When deciding on my layout for this challenge I had a two fold goal in mind: to use up a kit I had made from scraps of older The ScrapRoom kits and to make a fun layout for my Name That Tune challenge using this sticker "Girls Can Change the World" which was the song I selected!  I decided I wanted to use a lot of fun girl stickers on my layout so I chose a grid style layout so I could do so!  I love how it turned out, the fun word strips and the unicorn are so fun and girly and then I also included a treble clef by my title to represent the song title!!  I hope you will find time to play along with us at Cookin' Up Creations this month.  Make sure and hop on over to the forum to see what songs people are using for their titles!  I can't wait to see what you come up with!!  Happy creating!

Kill a kit ~ August edition!!!

Happy Friday!!  Today I am sharing my newest challenge I am hosting over at The ScrapRoom Facebook Group!  I have been on the DT at The ScrapRoom since 2017 and have as a result accumulated a lot of kits!  I have enjoyed each and every one of them! They are filled with the latest and greatest scrappy supplies!  Each month I end up with a few left overs and usually I just put them in a drawer and move on to the next kit...BUT....now my drawer is FULL!!! Yikes!  So I decided to host a challenge each month at The ScrapRoom to encourage other ladies in the same position as myself to "kill" a kit each month!!  So here is my kit I am going to "kill" in August:
Kits included in this kit: July 2020 PhotoPlay Just Stay Home; August 2019 Echo Park Teen Spirit Girl; February 2002 Echo Park It's Your Birthday; March 2020 Echo Park I Love Spring; October 2019 Amy Tangerine Slice of Life; and May 2019 American Crafts Sparkle City!!

Here are the projects I have created so far using this kit:
Layout created using the August Kill a Kit- from details see my post HERE

Cards using the August Kill A Kit

This card was created using the August 5th sketch at Sketch N Scrap:
Supplies Used: Cardstock: Whisper White- Stampin' Up; Patterned Paper: Echo Park It's Your Birthday; journal card: American Crafts She's Magic; sticker: Echo Park Teen Spirit Girl; stamps: CTMH Birthday Time; Ink: Stampin' Up Strawberry Slush

Supplies Used: Cardstock: Stampin' Up Whisper White; Patterned Paper: PhotoPlay Just Stay Home & Echo Park I love Spring (flowers); sticker (bike): Echo Park Teen Spirit Girl; stamp: CTMH Life is a A Journey; ink: Stampin' Up Tempting Turquoise

Supplies Used: Carstock: Stampin' Up Whisper White; Patterned Paper: Echo Park Teen Spirit Girl & PhotoPlay Let's Stay Home; Ink: Stampin' Up Tempting Turquoise; stamp: CTMH BIrthday Greetings; sticker (cupcake): Echo Park Teen Spirit Girl

Supplies Used: cardstock: Stampin' Up Whisper White; Patterned Paper: PhotoPlay Let's Stay Home (yellow stripe), My Mind's Eye (blue circle) & Echo Park I love Spring (flowers); sticker (telephone): Echo Park Teen Spirit Girl, ink: Stampin' Up Tempting Turquoise; stamp: CTMH Random Acts of Cardness; die: Stampin' Up stitched circle

I have not even used up all the kit yet, it is really yielding a lot of projects! I think I can get another layout and a few more cards out of what I have left so stay tuned to see the end of the kit by the end of this month!!  This just goes to show how well all The ScrapRoom kits combine together even those that are a year or more apart!!  I love the bright color palette of these cards/layout and I was also able to ink up a few stamps I had never used!  I think this is going to be a great challenge to keep the scrap pile under control!  I am already thinking of what kits I can use for next month!  Make sure and join us in The ScrapRoom Facebook Group to play along and to see what the other gals did with their kits!  Happy creating!

Sketch N Scrap card sketch #174

Happy Monday! I hope you had an amazingly creative weekend!  I am doing some reorganizing in my craft room so I worked on that as well as my projects this weekend.  Today we have our last sketch of the month up at Sketch N Scrap! It's hard to believe this month is winding down, it went by so quickly!!  Here is the fun card sketch that sketch artist Heather created for us:

Here is my card using the sketch:

Supplies Used: Cardstock: Whisper White - Stampin' Up; Patterned Paper: Pebbles Girl Squad; flower: Pebbles Girl Squad; ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; stamp: CTMH  Life is a Journey

I have been hoarding this paper to long and when I was reorganizing I came across this big flower and knew it was perfect for this sketch so I dug out my Pebbles Girl Squad 6 x 6 paper pad and created this card in just a few minutes! I also had never used this stamp set called Life is a Journey by CTMH and I am not sure why because it is super cute!! So it was long overdue for me to ink it up!!! I love how fast this card came together using this sketch!  I plan to make another card or two with it before the month is up, it's super versatile!!  I hope you will find time to play along with us at Sketch N Scrap this month.  Make sure and head on over to the Sketch N Scrap blog to see how the DT is using this awesome sketch!  Happy creating!

Sketch N Scrap card sketch #173

Happy Monday!!  I had a very productive weekend and hope you did to, kind of sad it has to end!!  So today we have another amazing sketch up on the Sketch N Scrap blog!! This card sketch was designed by sketch artist Stacy!!  Here is her super fun sketch:

Here is the card I created with this fun sketch:
Supplies Used: Card base: CTMH; patterned Paper : PhotoPlay Red, White & Blue and Scenic Route; stickers: PhotoPlay Red, White & Blue; ink: Stampin' Up Night of Navy; stamps: CTMH; large die cut star: Scenic Route

When I first saw this sketch I immediately thought of this large star from my stash that was SOOOO old!!!  It is from Scenic Route, so it has to be over 10 years old!!  When I finally located the star it was to big for the card, so I opted to cut off the outer part to make it small enough for a card.  I then added some old scraps of Scenic Route paper as well as some from a July 2018 ScrapRoom kit by PhotoPlay Paper.  The sticker is from PhotoPlay and the stamp is one I use a lot from CTMH.  This card allowed me to bash some really old stash so that put a smile on my face!!  Make sure and head on over to the Sketch N Scrap blog to check out what the other DT members did with this amazing sketch!  Happy creating!

This card was made with my June Great Stash Bash kit that my friend Lori sent me!  I just love the color combo don't you?  This turned out so cute and I can't wait to send it to a good friend to put a smile on their face!!  There is still time to join us at Sketch N Scrap this month!  Make sure and check out the other amazing cards the DT created HERE.  Have a creative weekend friends and happy creating!
