TN Time with Lisa & Lori ~ July edition!

Happy July!! The month is flying by, and Summer is in full swing here in Texas with record breaking temperatures!  It's the perfect time of year to stay in your craft room!  A new month means a new challenge so let's get the party started with another edition of our TN Time with Lisa & Lori challenge! 

HERE IS HOW OUR CHALLENGE WORKS: 

This is a monthly challenge that launches on the 10th of each month  You will have until the 9th at midnight CST to link up your entries. If you complete my sketch challenge link your TN, bullet journal or planner spread below. If you combined my challenge with Lori's challenge link up your spread here on my blog AND on Lori's Blog (My Happy Life). This is a "just for fun" challenge with no prize, but isn't the real prize just documenting your memories and getting more pages done in 2022???!!!!

I am super excited that back in May my son got engaged!  So in October I will be gaining a daughter in love!!  She is a beautiful lady as you can see but most importantly she is also beautiful on the inside too!  Get ready for picture overload this Fall!!

I had so much fun decorating this pocket!  I think pockets are one of my favorite things!  For Lori's part of the challenge I used flower paper, after all doesn't an engagement photo call for flowers???!!!

Here I used a gorgeous flower sticker to complete Lori's part of the challenge to use flowers on your spread!!  The challenge to use flowers was super easy for me, I love using flowers on all my projects!

September 1st sketch at Sketch N Scrap

TGIF!! Today I was lucky enough to get some free time this afternoon to play along with the September 1st sketch at Sketch N Scrap!  I really loved this sketch when I first saw it, as I really love the look of a big circle!!  Here is the sketch by sketch artist Heather Hall:

I had so much fun with this layout! I loved that I was able to use up papers and embellishments from my September Great Stash Bash kit too!  The only paper I didn't use from the kit was the Crate Paper Oasis paper I used for the background.  But still a win in my book as I used up another piece of paper!! YAY!  I am working hard on using up my kit this month, but it is HARD to use up 10 papers!!  I have barely made a dent in my kit with this one layout but stay tuned, I will be working on making a few cards next!!  I hope you will join in the fun at Sketch N Scrap this month or why not join in the fun and play along with Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash challenge and make up a kit to create with?

I had a lot of fun creating this card from scraps left over from a past ScrapRoom kit.  I unfortunately needed a sympathy card and so I used the sketch to make one up using the scraps on my desk.  It came together very quickly using this sketch!  I hope you will give the sketch a go!  Make sure and check out what the DT has done with my sketch over on the Sketch N Scrap blog, it is sure to inspire you!!  Happy creating!

Happy weekend!  Today I am popping on to share a fun layout I created using this months "pop up" challenge in the Sketch N Scrap private Facebook group!  We are ramping up to celebrate NINE years of bringing you FREE sketches and inspiration at Sketch N Scrap in May so my good friend and Senior DT member Lori decided to have a "pop up" challenge this month to get the party started a bit early!!  She is challenging us to  create a layout based on Sketch N Scrap sketch #82 created by yours truly way back in 2015!!

This sketch was a bit intimidating for me as it is not my "normal" style, however, it is always fun to challenge yourself and do things out of your comfort zone so I definitely had a lot of fun using this sketch!!  New Year's Eve I celebrated alone so I didn't have any pictures but I was able to use these pictures of my sister and niece as they celebrated together!!  This is also my first layout using my Great Stash Bash kit for 2021!  I didn't use a lot of patterned paper but at least I dug into the kit this month!! Sketch N Scrap card fun

Happy Sunday!  The weekend is winding down and it's been a very busy one for me!  Today I am hosting our second challenge of the month in the Sketch N Scrap monthly Facebook challenge group!  Today's challenge is to create a card using card sketch #92 below:

To make the challenge more fun we always add an OPTIONAL TWIST.  For this challenge the optional twist is to use hearts, words and polka dots on the card.  Here is my card using both the sketch & the optional twist:

I made this card out of a bunch of left overs from last year.  I love how these lines all coordinated together.  I am slowly working my way through my scrap pile trying to make it a little smaller and more manageable!  I hate to admit it but this is the first time I have inked up this stamp...I really love it and am not sure why I haven't used it before, so you will be seeing more of it in the future!  For the optional twist I used papers with polka dots, words and hearts but you could use stickers, stamps or really anything that you can think of for this twist!  I hope you will join us this month.  You can request to join the group HERE.  I hope you will plan along with us this month!  Happy creating!

Sketch N Scrap card sketch #153

TGIF!!  Today I am sharing my card made using the September 5th card sketch at Sketch N Scrap!  Here is the super versatile sketch by sketch artist Heather:

I really loved this sketch because it was so easy to use!  I can see myself using it time and time again.  This card literally took 10 minutes to make!  I used only scraps to make this card.  One night I decided to dump out my scrap bin and sort my scraps..ugghhh...talk about more time consuming then planned! Well, I ended up realizing how some of these scraps coordinated and decided to make up mini "kits" using my scraps of ones that I could use together on cards and other projects.  This took a LONG time to do but is paying off because I am able to make cards a lot faster since I don't have to dig around trying to match up my scrap papers! I hope it helps me get rid of some of my scraps, I swear I could make cards for a year using just scraps - that's how many I have!!  This sticker was one in my basket since this sheet is 3/4 used up.  I am on a mission to get some of these straggler stickers used up as well!  Make sure and head over to the Sketch N Scrap blog to see what the other DT members did with this sketch!  I hope you have a creative weekend!!

Card sketch #142

Happy Spring!!  It's finally here or is it?  My pear tree is in full bloom but yet it's still pretty chilly every morning, but so thankful for some sunshine!  Today I am sharing my card created using our last sketch of the month at Sketch N Scrap!  This sketch was created by me, here it is:

The interesting thing about this card is I designed this sketch originally so I could use this cute panda sticker from the Crate Paper Willow Lane collection- it was one of a few remaining stickers on this sheet that was in my bashket.  I went to a retreat a few weekends ago where I created this card and although I had planned my card and brought the supplies to make it I ended up stuff from the destash table at the retreat to create my card 😄  I guess the best laid plans aren't the best EVERY time are they?  So I really don't know the source of this paper - it was a 6 x 6 piece nor the flower or journal card...if you know the source let me know in the comments and I will update my supplies!  I will note I did not take ANYTHING home from the destash table except 2 rolls of washi I couldn't resist, I did contribute at least a dozen items to the table and they found good homes!  So goes to show what is one ladies trash is another ladies' treasure!  So glad to use these beautiful items on my card and put them to good use! March Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom!

I love the beachy feel to these amazing papers and embellishments!  They were perfect for these photos of my friend's family on their beach vacation!  If you have some Summer or beach photos this kit would be a perfect match!  This layout was based on Sketch #157 by the talented Heather Hall at Sketch N Scrap!  I created this layout for Challenge #4 at the Go Green March Crop at Sketch N Scrap! Here is the sketch:

The twist for this challenge is to fussy cut an embellishment to use on your layout!  I chose to fussy cut these incredible pinwheel flowers from one of the beautiful patterned papers! I think they made the perfect flowers for my  layout! The Go Green crop last all month long! We sure hope you can join us at our crop!

Stash Bashing

For a few years now I have been working on bashing my stash and not buying as much, each year I get more successful and find new ways of organizing my stash to help me use it.  I feel that this year has been my best to date!! I have joined a challenge group on Facebook called Bash your Scrapbook Stash and they are having a Super Bash Bowl challenge  this month that I have been participating in.  Basically every week we are given a challenge that is worth 7 points if you complete all the items for the challenge.  Each item has a point value assigned to it, so you can chose to do all of the challenge items to get the full 7 points or just a few of them but you will get less points.   I have made 2 layouts so far for this challenge, my goal is to do 4 and since the challenge ends Saturday I had better get a move on 😊  Today I thought I would share my first 2 layouts with you.

I sure was able to bash a lot of older stash on these 2 layouts, that KI Memories stitched scallop circle paper is at least 12 years OLD!! I loved it then and still really liked it just never knew what to use it for and since the sketch in challenge #1 called for a circle I felt it was a great time to use it!! I also used up the scraps from my June Flavors of the Month kit at The Scraproom.  I am down to very little left from this June line and hope to create 2 more cards to completely finish it off.  I hope to be back this weekend to share the other 2 layouts I plan to create for this challenge so stay tuned!  If you are interested in bashing some stash you may want to check out this fun group, they have some amazing challenges to help you get motivated to use your stash!  Happy creating!

I really love how these all turned out!! I have just a few scraps of paper left from my kit and a number of embellishments left that I plan to mix back into my stash to use at a later date but overall I have just a few more projects I can create before killing this kit which I hope to do before my March kit arrives!! SNS's Queen of Hearts crop!

Happy Monday!  The Queen of Hearts Crop is in full swing over at the SNS Facebook page!  Today it's my turn to host a challenge!  My challenge is to make a card using Card Sketch #43 from 2015 and to use this recipe on  your card: A heart, a flower, and the color red!

This card came together SUPER easy!  I loved this beautiful big glittered heart that came from the ephemera included in my February Flavors of the Month kit from The ScrapRoom and I knew it was perfect for this sketch!!
