Echo Park I'd Rather Be Crafting!

Happy Monday!  I know for most of you this is a holiday, unfortunately not for me I had to work today but it was a beautiful day so I didn't mind, however, we are now under a winter weather watch and expecting possible snow and sleet this evening!  What a difference a day makes! I know the kiddos are hoping for no school but I am hoping for no ice!  Today I am sharing my double page spread I created using The January Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom.  Here is the kit:

Here is my layout created using the Echo Park I'd Rather Be Crafting part of the kit:
Supplies Used: Card stock: Bazzill (ivory)- from the kit; Patterned Paper: Echo Park I'd Rather be Crafting- from the kit; stickers: Echo Park I'd Rather be Crafting- from the kit; letter stickers: American Crafts Thickers (word "stuff")- from my stash; twine: American Crafts- from my stash; dies: Stampin' Up (scallop circle and circle)- from my stash; enamel dots: My Mind's Eye- from my stash; also from my stash- black card stock to mount dot paper on.
I just adored this fun kit!  The papers are gorgeous and the stickers are so much fun if you are a crafter!!! I had a lot of fun making this layout using pictures of my niece making a cat head pillow she got for her birthday a few years back!  The colors were a perfect match for this kit....I can also see it being great for those photos of you and your friends at a crop or retreat!  I think I may have to get another one of these kits as I could definitely put it to good use!  Make sure and visit The ScrapRoom blog to see what other amazing creations the DT made with the kit!!  And as always if you want your own kit visit The ScrapRoom store to reserve yours before they sell out!  Happy creating friends!

Sketch N Scraps New Beginnings Crop

Sketch N Scrap started having monthly online crops last year and the is continuing into 2018 as we ring in a New Year with our New Beginnings Crop!  Today it's my turn to host the challenge!  Today's challenge is to create a card based on one of our older card sketches ~  #41!!  Here is the sketch:

And here is my card based on the sketch:
Supplies Used: Cardstock: Stampin' Up-Whisper White; Patterned Paper: Simple Stories -Happy Day; stickers: Simple Stories- Happy Day.

I had so much fun creating this card!  It came together so quickly using the fun sketch! I also used up a bunch of my scraps I had with this collection!  This collection is one that was placed in my 100 paper challenge pile for 2018, I have only a few pieces left but a number of embellishments so I am hoping to use it all up this year!  I will be posting more soon about my New Year's resolution to use up some of my stash!  I hope you will be able to join us at the New Beginning's crop on the Sketch N Scrap Facebook page this month!  Challenges are open until January 31st at midnight CST, so you have lots of time to join in!
See you at the crop!

Pink Paislee Wild Child

I'm back to share another fun layout I made using the January Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom!  Here is the fun kit:

Today I am showing my layout using the Pink Paislee Wild Child portion of the kit, what a fun collection!
Here is my layout using this fun collection:
Supplies Used: Cardstock- from the kit; Patterned Paper: Pink Paislee Wild Child- from the kit; stickers: Pink Paislee Wild Child- January embellishment kit; die cuts (ephemera): Pink Paislee Wild Child- from the kit; chip board words: Pink Paislee Wild Child; twine: American Crafts - from my stash
I thought this line was perfect to document a few pictures of us and the Space Shuttle when we went to the Kennedy Space Center back in 2009!  The journaling on this layout was long and I didn't have a lot of room to place it, so it is stuck on the back of the layout!  I love the "wild" papers from this kit and the fun chipboard titles!  Make sure and hop on over to The ScrapRoom blog to see what the other DT members did with the kit!  Some amazing work!  Also if you would like your own Flavors of the Month kit you can buy one at The ScrapRoom store HERE!!  Happy creating friends!

Freaky Fast Friday challenge!

Today I am popping in to share a SUPER fun challenge with you!!!  I have to admit I have been kind of scared to try this challenge in the past and kept putting it off, but when it was my January assignment I was unable to put it off any more and I have to say to I was kicking myself for not participating sooner, it is SUPER fun and will help you get a layout down in no time flat! Here is the challenge, it's a monthly challenge they do at The ScrapRoom:

Here is the January Flavors of the Month kit I was using:

Here is my layout using the Vicki Boutin All Good Things part of the kit and the Freaky Fast Friday formula for January:
Supplies Used: Cardstock: American Crafts- from the kit; Patterned Paper: Vicki Boutin's All Good Things- from the kit; clip: (bird)Vicki Boutin All Good Things- from the kit; ephemera: Vicki Boutin's All Good Things- from the kit & embellishment kit; letter stickers (take & world)- Doodlebug Designs- from my stash; enamel dots: Teresa Collins & My Mind's Eye- from my stash

This is a GORGEOUS line!! I love it.  Truthfully I would never have purchased it for myself but that is the best part of the ScrapRoom kits, you get a little bit of everything and it's fun to use things you maybe wouldn't normally use, in fact those things always end up being my favorites in the long run!  Go figure!  I especially loved this little birdie clip and of course, I have to mention this amazing photo taken by my BFF's sweet (on the inside and out) daughter...kids take the most amazing selfies, don't they?...when  I take one all I look like is a tired washed up old lady! lol!  This photo was just perfect for this line!!! So thankful she allowed me to use it!  I hope you will find time to play along with us this month using our Freaky Fast Friday formula, if you do make sure and link up in the comments, I'd love to see what you create with this fun challenge!  Happy crafting friends!

Card sketch #113

TGIF!!!  Are you as excited for the weekend as I am?  Today we have our first card sketch of the month up at the Sketch N Scrap blog!  Here is the fun sketch by Heather:

Here is my card based on the sketch:
Supplies Used: Card stock: Stampin Up- Whisper White & Basic Black; Patterned Paper: Stampin' Up (orange) and Echo Park Summer Bliss (stripes); Stickers: Echo Park Summer Bliss
When I saw this sketch I immediately thought of this banner of flip flops!  This sticker sheet had been on my desk since this Summer waiting to be used and I didn't really ever use it, so now is a perfect time, with the cold weather we have been having flip flops sound pretty good about right now!!!  This card came together so quickly and I just love these colors, plus this orange strip which was about 1/2 inch longer then I needed had been in my scrap pile in my scrap cart and that pile is OVERFLOWING so I need to use up some of it....so nice that this piece was almost the perfect size and shade of orange I needed!!  There was an orange piece in my paper collection, but I figured why cut apart a 12 x 12 piece when this one scrap needs to be used up!!  I have been busy behind the scenes working on my planner, organizing my scrapbooking cart and getting ready to bash some stash...tune in next week for a post on my scrappy goals/resolutions for 2018 and some tips/pointers on how I am organizing my stash in order to use it up!!!  In the meantime keep creating friends!

January's Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom!

Happy New Year!  I hope you are as excited as I am to kick off another year of creativity! What a fun way to start it by using the January Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom!!  I have moved from being on the card & Doubleshot kit team to now being on the Flavors of the Month team and I am loving it!!  Here is the amazing kit for this month:
And here is the American Craft Sweater Weather kit that is part of the larger kit:
Here is my layout using the American Crafts Sweater Weather kit:
Supplies Used: Cardstock- Bazzill from the kit; Patterned Paper- American Crafts Sweater Weather from the kit; Stickers: American Crafts Sweater Weather from the kit; White Pen- from my stash; enamel dots- My Mind's Eye from my stash

I loved the whimsical and playful nature of this kit! This adorable penguin is so much fun and I knew I just had to use him first! The colors are so fun and matched my niece's snow gear perfectly.  I love that you get the title as part of the sticker sheet included with the kit!  The pops of gold are so "in" right now and really add to your layout....I always forget to use my white pen and actually remembered this time, but the tip is not fine so although I wanted to do my journaling with it, I just couldn't write well enough with it and so I printed the journaling on the computer.   I hope you will hop over the The ScrapRoom blog and check out what the other DT members did with this kit! And if you just can't resist and would like a kit you can purchase one at The ScrapRoom store!  Why not make it your New Year's resolution to start off the new year preserving those memories?  The ScrapRoom kits make it so easy to do!!  I will be back later this week to share my New Year's goals and to also share my new planner with you....happy creating friends see ya'll soon!
