Happy Monday! Today I am sharing some cards I created using the March Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom!  I love using up the scraps of my kits to make cards!  Here is a reminder of the kit:

Here are the cards I created:
Supplies Used: card base: Stampin' Up Whisper White card stock; patterned paper: Photo Play Paper Tulla & Norbert; stickers: Photo Play Paper Tulla & Norbert; buttons: unknown source

Supplies Used: Card base: Stampin' Up Whisper White card stock; patterned paper: Echo Park I Love Spring; ephemera: Echo Park I Love Spring; enamel dots: My Mind's Eye

Supplies Used: Cardstock: Whisper White & Black- Stampin' Up; patterned paper: Pink Paislee 5th and Monaco; sticker: Pink Paislee 5th and Monaco; stamp: Kerry Bradford Studios; ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; thread: unknown source
I love how these turned out!  I made these cards while glamping a few weeks ago and I was so excited to use the sewing machine provided in the crop area!  I had never sewn on paper before but I am going to get myself a machine as soon as I am back to work full time so I can practice my sewing skills!  I love the look of machine stitching on paper! So hopefully you will see more of my projects with some machine stitching on them soon! Make sure and hop on over to The ScrapRoom blog to check out all the amazing layouts and cards created by the DT!  Happy creating friends!

Sketch N Scrap's monthly Facebook challenge group fun!

Happy weekend!! Today I am sharing a layout I created for the Sketch N Scrap monthly Facebook challenge group!  My challenge for the group is to create a layout based on Sketch #86 below and as an OPTIONAL TWIST use patterned paper instead of cardstock as the background of your layout.  Here is the sketch they are to use:

Here is my layout I created with the sketch and the optional twist:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Scenic Route (background), Photo Play Paper Be Mine & Pink Paislee (brown gingham); stickers: Photo Play Paper Be Mine; enamel dots: Recollections (gold) & Teresa Collins (heart); die: Stitched circle: Stampin' Up.
I love this sketch and have used it multiple times!  Do you have a favorite go to sketch you use over and over? I had a lot of stickers left over from the Photo Play Paper Be Mine kit that was in my February Flavors of the Month kit from The ScrapRoom so I was trying to use them up and this is the layout I came up with!  I hope you will find time to play along with us this month in our monthly Facebook challenges group.  To join the group click on "GROUPS" in the left side bar ON THIS PAGE and then click on the group name and request to join!  Easy Peasy!  Hope to see you there!

Card Sketch #166

Happy weekend!  Today I am sharing my latest card sketch which launched yesterday over at Sketch N Scrap!  This is a fun sketch with lots of layers!  Here is the sketch:

Here is my card using the sketch:
Supplies Used: Card base: Stampin' Up Very Vanilla; patterned paper: Simple Stories Vintage Botanicals; flower: from an old card; sentiment: from an old card; tag/card: The Reset Girl
I had so much fun with this card! This line by Simple Stories is just gorgeous!  I can't get enough of it and decided it's time to stop hoarding it!!  I cut up some old cards and that is where I got this sentiment and the flower.  The card/tag peeking out is from a journal card from The Reset Girl and I printed it (by accident) at 1/2 size and thought it would work great on cards, so instead of chunking it as a mistake I am embracing it and acting like I planned it that way all along lol!!  I hope you will make your way over the Sketch N Scrap blog and check out the other cards by the DT!  Make sure and join us before the end of the month for a chance to win our gift card to The ScrapRoom!!  Happy creating!

Lucky to have a Friend Like you!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!  I am not Irish and never celebrate St. Patrick's Day but I was gifted this amazing line by Simple Stories and just had to play with it!  I created this card for Sketch N Scrap's monthly Facebook challenge group, it was my turn to host the challenge today and what better challenge then to use a fun sketch I created and the color green as the optional twist?!  I used this sketch:

Here is my card using the sketch and the optional twist to use GREEN!
Supplies Used: card stock: Very Vanilla by Stampin' Up; patterned paper: Simple Stories St. Patrick's Day & Fancy Pants Trend Setter; stamp: CTMH; ink: Stampin' Up Old Olive; sticker (Shamrock): Simple Stories St. Patrick's Day
I love the color combo of green and navy and love how this card turned out!  This is my new favorite sentiment too!! I made a few of these to send to my friend's I can't see right now due to the pandemic.  I will include a few scrappy goodies in the card and hope they like them!  I think we can all use a little cheer and spirit lifting happy mail right now don't you?  If you want to check out the other challenges you can visit the Sketch N Scrap Facebook page and click on groups in the left side bar, then click on the group name and request to join!  We hope to see you there!

Double Page Layout with the March Flavors of the Month kit!

Happy Monday!  It's the start of a new week!  I hope your weekend was filled with loads of creative time!  Today I am sharing a double page layout I created using the March Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom.  Here is a reminder of the full kit:

Here is the Pink Paislee 5th & Monaco collection I used on today's layout:

Here is my layout:
Supplies Used: Cardstock: Black-from the kit; Patterned Paper: Pink Paislee 5th & Monaco-from the kit; stickers: Pink Paislee 5th & Monaco- from the kit; ampersand- American Crafts Thickers- from my stash; enamel dot: Simple Stories- from my stash.
When I saw this gorgeous collection I immediate remembered these pictures of my friend's little granddaughter!  I felt like the hot pink dress would go perfectly with this color scheme!  I cut the dot paper in half so that I could use the floral sprays on each page, it's like a built in embellishment! The gold foil stickers are so pretty and served as the perfect accents for these adorable pictures! Make sure and hop on over to The ScrapRoom blog to check out the other double page layouts the DT created!!  If you create something with this kit make sure and drop me a comment so I can check it out!!  I'd love to see what you create!

WOW!
Now for my challenge!! Here is this month's sketch:

Now for Lori's challenge:

Lori's challenge is perfect for March, just use GREEN anywhere on your spread!!
Here is my spread using both the sketch and Lori's challenge:

Supplies Used: Washi Tape: Crate Paper; Patterned Paper: Echo Park Creative Agenda(greenish), Stampin' Up (mustard dot), & Simple Stories Posh (floral); PL style card: The Reset Girl; hexie embellishment: The Reset Girl;  tag: Fancy Pants; stickers (scissors, flower & word strip): Simple Stories Hey Crafty Girl; letter stickers: Authentique (small black) & American Crafts Thickers (blue); twine: Lawn Fawn.
This month I am documenting my recent crafty girls trip to Round Top, Texas where we stayed at the Lone Star Glamp Inn.  This was my fourth trip there and it gets better each and every time!!
A few close ups:
It looks a bit blue in this picture but the paper I chose is what I would consider a mint green, so here is one place I used green!  I decided to use this fun sticker that says "crafting keeps me sane" instead of a piece of washi at the top of the picture as shown in the sketch.  I also added a tag for some journaling as well, which wasn't included in the sketch, however, if I could redo the sketch I think I would add in the tag, I like how it looks!  I will probably add some journaling below my picture once I figure out exactly what I want to say!

Another close up:
Instead of another picture I chose to use this super adorable and fun cut apart card from The Reset Girl (although I am not sure what collection it is from).  I love sweet Sammy and how she is peeking out over the top of the added mustard dot paper!  For another touch of green I added a green flower from Simple Stories Hey Crafty Girl.  I used a black polka dot strip of washi instead of paper in my title work.  I also added this cute pair of scissors from the Hey Crafty Girl collection by Simple Stories.

Card sketch # 165

I hope your weekend is going well!  I had some crafty time today so decided to make a card using the March 5th card sketch by Heather at Sketch N Scrap! This card is sketch is going right to my favorites list, it is SO versatile!!  I'm using some older CTMH papers that I have been hoarding because the colors are just sooooo lovely!!  Here is the sketch:

Here is my card using the sketch:
Supplies Used: Card base: CTMH; card stock: Basic Black, Whisper White & Daffodil Delight - Stampin' Up'; Patterned Paper: CTMH Craft On & Bella Blvd Island Escape(pink); sticker: CTMH Craft On; die: scallop: CTMH; Twine: unknown; stamp: CTMH Card Captions; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
I love the color combo of green and pink, it's my current obsession!! I am really making an effort to use my stash, so far I haven't bought any new stash yet this year, the only new things are my kits which I get for my DT work....trying to use up some things so I can make a big buy in the middle of the year as a treat to myself...although it seems like out of sight out of mind, if I don't go to the craft store I don't buy anything lol!  That may all change in April when I am making a trek to The Little Craft Place in Houston!  I better step it up to make room for some new supplies lol!!  Make sure and hop on over to the Sketch N Scrap blog to check out what the other DT members have done with this fun card sketch!  Happy creating!

Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash - March 2020

Happy March!! Another month in the books.  I am excited to pick a new kit but sad to report I used my February kit even less then my January kit making only a few cards with it.  I will say I did a total revamp of my scrappy space which took up a lot of my time.  I moved all my supplies from my kitchen cabinet and hall closet into my own room.  I redid my office to make it a scrap room, I got tired of scrapping in my kitchen and having to keep picking everything up every time I needed to cook or entertain!!  I am happy to say I love my new space but it took hours to set up!!  I will share pictures soon!  So without further ado let's get to my March kit!!!
For those who are new to the challenge here is how it works:
On the 1st of each month we will post a challenge prompt and the stash kit we have created following that prompt. During the month we will try to use as much of our stash kits as possible on different projects. Then, on the last day of the month, we will do a recap post showing what stash we were able to bash!
This will be a just-for-fun challenge so no monthly prize - but isn't the real prize using up our stash? You never know - if we still have a few unused stash items after a few months, then those items may just go into a giveaway. We hope you will join us in our quest to bash some stash in 2020. If you accept the challenge to play along - link up on either my blog or Lori's blog (or both if you choose) so that we can see who is joining us each month!
Now for our March challenge:
This month we will create a kit with 10 papers (seven papers 3 years or older & three newer papers), 5-7 scrap papers, 4 embellishments (three that are 3 years or older & one newer one), and some stamps!!
Since this is a just for fun challenge the rules are not set in stone BUT we have them to help you focus on what really matters using your stash & to help spread the word of our fun challenge so others may join in!!  You know you have at least one friend who needs to use her stash!!
Here are the rules:
1. Follow the challenge prompt to create a kit to work with throughout the month. You may use other items, but please concentrate on using your kit.
2. Create new, not previously posted projects using your stash kit.
3. If you have a blog - please include the challenge graphic and a link to our challenge in your posts.
4. You may link to social media if you don't have a blog. If you share on Instagram, please make sure to use - #lisaandlorisgreatstashbash2020
Here is the kit I created using the March prompts:

Here are some close ups:
My older papers which are from the Fancy Pants Trend Setter Line (3 papers), the American Crafts Fine & Dandy line (3 papers) & Amy Tangerine Ready Set Go line.  I think they coordinate well together don't you?

Here are both my older papers & the 3 newer papers I chose which are from the Simple Stories St. Patrick's Day line & the American Crafts Wild Card line.
Here are my scraps.  They are from Stampin' Up (green flower), Fancy Pants Good Old Days (map and navy w/ white flowers), pink (SEI), and Echo Park (green floral in lower right corner).

Here are the stamps I selected.  All 3 sets are from CTMH and I haven't used any of them yet!  Hoping to change that!  They are called: My type of Note; Sweet Birthday & Birthday Greetings.  I am hoping to build up my stash of birthday cards this month!
And last but not lease my embellishments!  I have for my older 3 embellishments a 12 x 12 sticker sheet from Fancy Pants Trendsetter and sticker sheets from Crate Paper Oasis & Thickers from American Crafts!  For my newer embellishment I am choosing a sticker sheet from Simple Stories St Patrick's Day.
I hope you will be inspired to dig through your stash this month and play along with myself and Lori as we endeavor to bash some stash in 2020!!  If you chose to play along make sure and link up below, we'd love to see what you have put together for a kit & what you create with it!  Happy creating friends!
