Kill a kit ~ August edition!!!

Happy Friday!!  Today I am sharing my newest challenge I am hosting over at The ScrapRoom Facebook Group!  I have been on the DT at The ScrapRoom since 2017 and have as a result accumulated a lot of kits!  I have enjoyed each and every one of them! They are filled with the latest and greatest scrappy supplies!  Each month I end up with a few left overs and usually I just put them in a drawer and move on to the next kit...BUT....now my drawer is FULL!!! Yikes!  So I decided to host a challenge each month at The ScrapRoom to encourage other ladies in the same position as myself to "kill" a kit each month!!  So here is my kit I am going to "kill" in August:
Kits included in this kit: July 2020 PhotoPlay Just Stay Home; August 2019 Echo Park Teen Spirit Girl; February 2002 Echo Park It's Your Birthday; March 2020 Echo Park I Love Spring; October 2019 Amy Tangerine Slice of Life; and May 2019 American Crafts Sparkle City!!

Here are the projects I have created so far using this kit:
Layout created using the August Kill a Kit- from details see my post HERE

Cards using the August Kill A Kit

This card was created using the August 5th sketch at Sketch N Scrap:
Supplies Used: Cardstock: Whisper White- Stampin' Up; Patterned Paper: Echo Park It's Your Birthday; journal card: American Crafts She's Magic; sticker: Echo Park Teen Spirit Girl; stamps: CTMH Birthday Time; Ink: Stampin' Up Strawberry Slush

Supplies Used: Cardstock: Stampin' Up Whisper White; Patterned Paper: PhotoPlay Just Stay Home & Echo Park I love Spring (flowers); sticker (bike): Echo Park Teen Spirit Girl; stamp: CTMH Life is a A Journey; ink: Stampin' Up Tempting Turquoise

Supplies Used: Carstock: Stampin' Up Whisper White; Patterned Paper: Echo Park Teen Spirit Girl & PhotoPlay Let's Stay Home; Ink: Stampin' Up Tempting Turquoise; stamp: CTMH BIrthday Greetings; sticker (cupcake): Echo Park Teen Spirit Girl

Supplies Used: cardstock: Stampin' Up Whisper White; Patterned Paper: PhotoPlay Let's Stay Home (yellow stripe), My Mind's Eye (blue circle) & Echo Park I love Spring (flowers); sticker (telephone): Echo Park Teen Spirit Girl, ink: Stampin' Up Tempting Turquoise; stamp: CTMH Random Acts of Cardness; die: Stampin' Up stitched circle

I have not even used up all the kit yet, it is really yielding a lot of projects! I think I can get another layout and a few more cards out of what I have left so stay tuned to see the end of the kit by the end of this month!!  This just goes to show how well all The ScrapRoom kits combine together even those that are a year or more apart!!  I love the bright color palette of these cards/layout and I was also able to ink up a few stamps I had never used!  I think this is going to be a great challenge to keep the scrap pile under control!  I am already thinking of what kits I can use for next month!  Make sure and join us in The ScrapRoom Facebook Group to play along and to see what the other gals did with their kits!  Happy creating!

Lucky to have a Friend Like you!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!  I am not Irish and never celebrate St. Patrick's Day but I was gifted this amazing line by Simple Stories and just had to play with it!  I created this card for Sketch N Scrap's monthly Facebook challenge group, it was my turn to host the challenge today and what better challenge then to use a fun sketch I created and the color green as the optional twist?!  I used this sketch:

Here is my card using the sketch and the optional twist to use GREEN!
Supplies Used: card stock: Very Vanilla by Stampin' Up; patterned paper: Simple Stories St. Patrick's Day & Fancy Pants Trend Setter; stamp: CTMH; ink: Stampin' Up Old Olive; sticker (Shamrock): Simple Stories St. Patrick's Day
I love the color combo of green and navy and love how this card turned out!  This is my new favorite sentiment too!! I made a few of these to send to my friend's I can't see right now due to the pandemic.  I will include a few scrappy goodies in the card and hope they like them!  I think we can all use a little cheer and spirit lifting happy mail right now don't you?  If you want to check out the other challenges you can visit the Sketch N Scrap Facebook page and click on groups in the left side bar, then click on the group name and request to join!  We hope to see you there!

Sketch N Scrap card fun

Happy Sunday!  The weekend is winding down and it's been a very busy one for me!  Today I am hosting our second challenge of the month in the Sketch N Scrap monthly Facebook challenge group!  Today's challenge is to create a card using card sketch #92 below:

To make the challenge more fun we always add an OPTIONAL TWIST.  For this challenge the optional twist is to use hearts, words and polka dots on the card.  Here is my card using both the sketch & the optional twist:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Crate Paper LaLa Love, Simple Stories Kissing Booth and Stampin' Up (word paper); card stock: Stampin' Up Basic Black & Whisper White; stamp: Stampin' Up Really Good Greetings; sticker: Crate Paper All Heart; ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; die: Stampin' Up stitched square.
I made this card out of a bunch of left overs from last year.  I love how these lines all coordinated together.  I am slowly working my way through my scrap pile trying to make it a little smaller and more manageable!  I hate to admit it but this is the first time I have inked up this stamp...I really love it and am not sure why I haven't used it before, so you will be seeing more of it in the future!  For the optional twist I used papers with polka dots, words and hearts but you could use stickers, stamps or really anything that you can think of for this twist!  I hope you will join us this month.  You can request to join the group HERE.  I hope you will plan along with us this month!  Happy creating!

Card Sketch #163

Happy almost weekend!!  Sketch artist Heather has our first card sketch of the month up over at Sketch N Scrap and it is so fun!  Here is the sketch:

Here is my card using the sketch:
Supplies Used: cardstock: White, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie , Real Red & Black- Stampin' Up; ink: Tuxedo Black Memento; stamps: Stampin' Up; flowers: pre-punched Stampin' Up; punch for leaf: Stampin' Up; Patterned Paper: Stampin' Up
This card uses some REALLY old stash, I used up scraps of patterned paper from Stampin' Up. The flowers were pre-punched ones from Stampin' Up from years ago, I just have a few flowers left in fact and want to use them up!  I made the leaves by punching out some Old Olive cardstock with a flower punch and cutting off the petals to make leaves.  I love this sketch and know I will use it again, it was perfect for using up a few more of these old flowers in my stash!!  Make sure and head over to the Sketch N Scrap blog to check out what the other DT members did with this fun sketch!  Happy creating!

Sketch N Scrap card sketch #107

I can't believe October is already here!  This year is flying by!  I love October, it's one of my favorite months, so many fun things to do!!  Today we are revealing the first card sketch for the month at Sketch N Scrap!  Here is the amazing sketch by Heather:

I loved this sketch so much I created 2 cards using it!! Here they are:
Supplies Used: Cardstock: Stampin' Up- Very Vanilla, Old Olive, & gold; stamp sets: Stampin' Up Painted Harvest, CTMH Falling For You & Stampin' Up (individual stamp - FOR YOU);  Ink: Stampin' Up Pumpkin Pie, Delightful Dijon & Soft Suede; Punch: Stampin' Up- leaft; Dies: Stampin' Up- Stitched Oval; embossing folder: Stampin' Up- florals; enamel dot: Teresa Collins. Pattern Paper: Stampin' Up

Supplies Used:  Cardstock: Stampin' Up- Whisper White, Soft Sky, Calypso Coral, & Basic Black; Patterned paper: Stampin' Up Hello Lovely; Project Lift cards: Stampin' Up Hello Lovely; Dies: Stampin' Up circle & scallop framelits; Pearls: Queen & Co.; Embossing folder: Stampin' Up.

This sketch is so versatile I know I will use it again!!  I didn't even do any stamping on my second card and it came together very quickly!  For my circle piece I used my circle die to cut out the sentiment from a Project Life card and the floral square behind the sentiment is another Project Life card!  I think this is a fun way to use up those extra cards!!  This month is going to be packed with all kinds of fun at Sketch N Scrap!  We are celebrating World Card Making Day ALL MONTH LONG with a new and exclusive card sketch every Saturday in October!

I hope you can join us for all the festivities this month!  You have until October 31st at 9:55 CST to enter your cards for the challenge!  Happy creating!

Card sketch #99~ Hello

Happy Monday!  I was kind of doing that dreading Monday on Sunday thing when I decided to do a little craft therapy and whipped up this card using the awesome new sketch by Heather!  This is definitely one I can see myself using over and over again!  Here is Heather's sketch:

Here is my take on the sketch:

Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Crate Paper Brook, Fancy Pants Life is Beautiful & Stampin' Up; Cardstock: Stampin' Up (Pool Party & Very Vanilla); Enamel Dots: My Mind's Eye; Ink: Stampin' Up Early Espresso; stamp: Stampin' Up Gorgeous Grunge; Punch: border scallop by Stampin' Up & Die cut label (Hello): unknown

I received this cute little label that said "Hello" in a swap this weekend and it was still on my desk, so when I was looking to make a card for this sketch it was perfect for the sketch and inspired the colors of this card!  I then went right to my scraps drawer and found ALL these papers there that coordinated with the brown and yellow label!  In fact I have used up basically ALL of this Crate Paper Brook line!  I may have one very small piece left but that is it!  These were part of my 100 paper challenge that I said I would use in like 6 months but in all reality it will be more like a YEAR!!!  Now in all honesty I am using mostly other papers but I have been able to use some of these poor neglected papers that I have put in a special drawer. I do plan to clean it out this Fall and donate what is left and then go through my paper once again and add another 100 pieces to my drawer!  I really liked these colors and I am sad to see this paper go but it's not like I don't have a bunch more to take it's place!!!  I hope you will find time to play along with us this month at Sketch N Scrap, the DT did an amazing job with this sketch, so make sure and hop on over and check out what they did with the sketch! Happy creating!

Here is my take on the sketch:

This was a super fun sketch to work with and came together super fast! I was able to use up more of my papers from my 100 paper challenge as well as this older die cut that was left from a kit and I never used due to it's size, I think it is over 5 years old so glad to have found a use for it!  I hope you will join us on the blog and our Facebook page to get creative as we celebrating FIVE years of bringing you inspiration every month!  Our prizes for the crop and the blog this month are awesome so make sure and play along!  I can't wait to see what you create!

Thinking of You- Sketch N Scrap card sketch #93

Hello crafters! I am so happy to share our first card sketch of the month with you today!  This fun sketch is by Heather and is one I know you will want to use over and over again!

Here is my take on the sketch:

Supplies Used: Cardstock: Very Vanilla by Stampin' Up; Ink: Watermelon Wonder & Pool Party by Stampin' Up; Stamp Set: Flower Shop & Four You by Stampin' Up; Punch: Stampin' Up; enamel dots: My Mind's Eye; Patterned Paper: Basic Grey Hillside

I was gifted these papers around Christmas time and it made me realize how much I miss Basic Grey! These colors are so fun and I love the smaller patterns of the 6x6 pads for card making! I plan on using this fun sketch again with stars instead of flowers next time! The possibilities on this sketch are truly endless!  I hope you will find time to play along with us this month at Sketch N Scrap and don't forget to hop on over the Sketch N Scrap blog to check out what the other DT members did with the sketch!
