Sketch N Scrap card sketch #124

The week is flying by and it has been a busy one!  I am ready for the weekend and some more creative time!  Have you seen the latest sketch at Sketch N Scrap? It's by me and features tags and flowers, so fun!  Here is the sketch:

My card using the sketch:
Supplies Used: card stock- CTMH White; Patterned Paper: Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine & Stampin' Up (pink); twine- Lawn Fawn; sentiment- Elle's Studio; tag- SEI; flower sticker-Photo Play Hello Spring

This card was super fast and easy to make following the sketch pretty closely!  I used only scraps and stuff from my "BASHket".  This SEI tag is SO old, I think I got it when I first started scrapping, I used up all the paper that it went with a long time ago but this tag made it into my BASHket a few months ago so it was great to use it up!  I am glad to find a card to use it on because it is very pretty! I have almost used up my entire collection of Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine this month, so you may see it come around again soon on some cards as I don't really have enough for a layout, I love Lawn Fawn papers they are so pretty!  I hope you will find time to play along with us at Sketch N Scrap this month, there is still time to play along as you have until June 30th to link up AND don't forget we are also having a crop (SUMMER DAZE CROP), it ends June 30th as well but that still gives you time to join in on the fun challenges!  Hope to see you there!

June Flavors of the Month kit ~ Fancy Pants Poolside!

Today I am sharing my layout using the Fancy Pants Poolside mini kit & the June Jumpstart Sketch at the ScrapRoom!  Here is the full kit:
June Flavors of the month kit at The ScrapRoom:
The Fancy Pants Poolside portion of the kit:

The June Jumpstart Sketch from the The ScrapRoom:

My layout using the sketch:

Supplies Used: Cardstock: white- from the kit; Patterned Paper: Fancy Pants Poolside- from the kit; chipboard (title, sun & splashes)- Fancy Pants Poolside- from the embellishment kit; epoxy stickers: Fancy Pants Poolside -from the kit; enamel dots- Fancy Pant's Poolside- from the kit.
I love the vintage feel to this fun collection!  It was so hard to choose a side to use! The epoxy stickers give a fun sheen to the layout and the chipboard embellishments add great texture! I love how easy this layout came together by using the sketch and then the title which was in the embellishment kit!  I normally don't use a lot of circles on my layouts and was intimidated by these big circles, but I used two dinner plates to trace the circles onto my patterned paper and then fussy cut them, it was easier then I though and I will doing it again soon!
Here is the embellishment kit I used for the chipboard elements:

Make sure and head over the ScrapRoom blog to see what the other DT members did with this sketch and this kit!  If you would like to get your own June Flavors of the month kit then visit The ScrapRoom store to see the kit up close!  Happy creating friends!

I love how this card turned out!  To see more inspiring cards using this sketch you can view the original post from last year HERE.   I love this sketch and was glad to revisit it and use up some of my older stash!  I have a lot of these wood veneer hearts and still love them so I kind of hoard them, but I need to use them up!  I love how the sparkly heart gives the right touch of sparkle and bling to this card!! I hope you will join us at the Summer Daze Crop!  We will have 4 challenges and PLENTY of time to play along as the crop runs from June 8th until June 31st at midnight CST!  So hop on over and join in the fun!  Even if you don't play along you will be inspired by all the wonderful eye candy!  Happy creating friends!!

June Flavors of the Month Kit- Simple Stories Travel Notes

It's almost Friday friends!! Hopefully you have found a little bit of creative time this week, if not the weekend is coming!! Today I am sharing my second layout created with the Flavors of the Month kit for June at The ScrapRoom.  This time I am using the Simple Stories Travel Notes collection.  Here is the entire kit for June:

Here is a close up of the Simple Stories Travel Notes mini kit I used on this layout:

And my layout using this fun line:
Supplies Used: cardstock: black- from my stash- to mount photo; Patterned Paper: Simple Stories Travel Notes- from the kit; stickers: Simple Stories Travel Notes- from the kit
This layout came together so easily using the amazing kit! I love this line and even though we don't travel much due to our work schedules and $$$ constraints I used this photo taken of my brother, sister-in-law and nephew with myself when we road the Tarantula Steam Engine in the Fort Worth Stock Yards when they came to visit for my son's graduation from high school 2 year ago.  My nephew was really into trains at the time and I think he enjoyed it!  If you ever visit Fort Worth I would recommend it!  I really think you could use this line for non-travel layouts as well, the colors are so rich and vibrant!  My favorite part of this mini kit was the word paper so I used it as my background. Plus you get an entire 12 x 12 sticker sheet which is so amazing!  I hid my journaling behind the picture with a tag I hand cut to fit the tabs that are included on the sticker sheet! I promise you will love this line!  Don't forget to head on over to the ScrapRoom blog to see what the other DT member did with this kit!  And if you are tempted to get one of your own you can purchase it at The ScrapRoom store!  Happy creating friends!

May 100 pattern paper challenge Uptdate

Another month in the books!  Time for my monthly update on my progress towards using up 100 patterned papers and some of my older stash for this year!  I think I may have to take the month of December off to just create all month long! 😂  Sounds divine doesn't it?  So how did I do on my monthly goals?  Well, let's take a look:
1) Use 10 patterned Papers- ✅✅✅✅✅  USED 5- 1/2 way there!
2) Use 10 Bashket items- ✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅  SUCCESS!
3) Use 3 stamp sets never used before- ✅✅✅ SUCCESS!
4)  Participate in 3 new to me challenges - ✅✅ Close!
Seems like life has a way of getting in the way of our best laid plans, but each month I feel more organized and am getting more done with less stress and hurrying about at the last minute!  Plus I really enjoyed using my stamps I had bought a few months back and never used AND I really enjoyed the 2 new challenges I participated in!  New ideas and LOTS of inspiration!  So June is here and I am ready to get started on this months goals...I think I have DEFINITELY raised the bar this month!  Here is my June planner calendar and it's PACKED!
Here are my June monthly goals:
1) Use 7 pattern papers from my 100 paper pile
2) Use washi tape on 3 of my projects
3) Use 10 Bashket items
4) Participate in 3 online challenges
5) Do all 4 weeks of the Faithful Life Club Challenges
6) Refresh my 100 paper pile with some new Summer themed papers & remove my Spring papers
7) Enjoy one girls in person crafty get together
WOW! This is going to be a PACKED month but a lot of FUN!!  I am super excited for all the fun!
Here is a recap of my 100 paper challenge year so far:
 Tally so far is:
January: Embellishments = 10  Papers = 5
February: Embellishments 5 Papers = 6
March: Embellishments = 7  Papers = 4
April: Embellishments = 6 Papers 4
May: Embellishments = 10 Papers = 5
To learn more about my 100 paper challenge you visit this blog post.    So is anyone else in this with me?  I think I would do better with a partner!!  I did not buy a single thing in May either (well, scrappy related) so I am sticking to my no buy policy pretty well BUT I did see the new Doodlebug HELLO collection last week and I FELL IN LOVE with this collection!! 💗💖 I just adore those colors! I also want a few Pink Fresh embellishments!  If I hit my goal this month I am thinking of purchasing one of these things! I had almost talked myself into the Pink Fresh warehouse sale box (and cheating on my no buy rule) but when I went to order it, it was sold out!! Folks, that was divine intervention 😇!  Now I feel glad I didn't cheat! I will check in at the end of June for another update!  Wish me well!  Happy stash bashing friends!
