Where has the month gone?

It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating Labor Day and the start of school, boy this month has flown by! OK...down to businesss....today is use your stash Tuesday (I know it really doesn't rhyme) but the challenge is to use something in your stash that you have had forever and just never seem to use. Well, today my layout features: one sticker (giggle definition in bottom left corner) I got when I first started scrappin', some black letter stickers I got from Doodlebug and have had lying around with very few letters on them hoping to "someday" use them, and some border stickers and paper I got a few months back thinking I would use them for sure and look 6 mos later and I still hadn't done anything with them, well now I have..YEAH for me! Nothing new within the last 6+ mos on this page folks (except for the scallop mini paper and chipboard circles in the middle of the page) I would love to see what you do with your oldies but goodies so post a link to your creation in the comment section for us all to see! These pictures were taken in 2004 at Mall of America theme park, doesn't Jakob look like he is having a ball? The journaling is hidden behind the photos at the far right, and can be pulled out with that littel tab with a star on it. I used this layout for a Sept. challenge at Personalscrapper where we were to pick a letter and what it stands for, I immediately thought of J is for Jakob, but when I decided to use these pictures, I decided that it is more for JOY, don't you agree? Fun challenge. It's hard to come up with titles sometimes. Don't forget Saturday October 4th is WORLD CARD MAKING DAY, so don't forget to make a card or two that day, and if you think you don't have any card making stuff, my challenge to you is to use some of your "old" scrapbooking stuff and create away, you might be surprised what you come up with!

You've been lifted, scraplifted that is!

So for the scraplift the crop challenge over at Personalscrapper, I chose to scraplift anbzmom's layout called FRIENDS. There were so many gorgeous layouts it was hard to pick one, in fact, I most likely will lift some others later, but we just do one for this challenge. This layout features the All Fall line by Fancy Pants and was in our September kit at Personalscrapper. I may post the layout I lifted here if I get permission from the artist, so you can see why I was so inpsired! The challenge I am working on for tomorrow is the Sept. challenge which is to use a letter of the alphabet and the word it represents to you on your layout i.e. M is for Memories. I have my idea, now just to put it to paper.....more inspiration tomorrow.

More fall goodness

I made these fun gift bags using some of the leftovers from the Scrapbooks on the Go Fall clipboard kit. I still have a lot of stickers left, and some I think I will use on my pumpkin patch page for this year. I love it when I can find a way to use my scraps on something useful. The papers are leftovers from my September 2007 personalscrapper kit and some Stampin Up papers I used to make cards with! Check back tomorrow when I will post some pics of my scraplift challenge for a contest at Personalscrapper. I have narrowed it down to 3 layouts I plan on lifting and hope to get one done tomorrow. It was hard to pick as there are a lot of talented ladies on this board and it will be fun to lift some of their beautiful pages!

Fall has arrived

I wanted to share with you the fall clipboard that I designed for Scrapbooks on the Go. It looks great on your mantle or a shelf surrounded by beautiful fall decorations. If you haven't gotten one of their kits you are missing out! Not only are they very reasonably priced but they come with EASY step by step directions and color photos making them a snap to assemble. They have fabulous gifts for the upcoming holidays ( their photo jewerly is unbelievable). I plan on getting their F is for Family and Christmas kits and will post my pages when I am done. So if you need fast, super cute and well priced layout ideas visit them at http://www.scrapbooksonthego.com/ and tell them Lisa sent you! Got Sketch 102 coming to an end

Here is a layout I did for the Animals R Us challenge during the Personalscrapper crop, but I based this layout on a sketch by Valerie Salomon on her blog GOT SKETCH. Here blog is awesome and having been a fan for awhile so I decided to sign up for her class GOT SKETCH 102. I was not disappointed, I have been scrapbooking for a LONG time and I still learned a bunch of things. I met a lot of nice and creative ladies and had a great time. The good thing about this class is you don't HAVE to complete the assignments in any order or time frame, the class will be up for a while yet so you can still go sign up, I will MOST definitely be signing up for any future classes! I plan on completing a few of the sketches I haven't gotten to this weekend. This is a fast way to get awesome looking layouts in a short amount of time! The above layout features a memory page of my cat Snuggles and in the journaling I included a poem given to me by the vet after she passed. I had met to share the finished layout for my Git R Done Wednesday task as well, but I forgot to pick up the remaining pics I had printed out for it, so it is still 3/4 of the way done, but it now has a title and one pic on it! HA! I WILL get it done, sometimes life(or a senior moment) just gets in the way!

More sharing from the crop

Here is another layout I did during the Personalscrapper crop this last weekend. This was another sketch challenge and it, as you can see, is a very versatile sketch, one I know I will continue to change up and use often. I just love these silly photos of Jake and his good friend Logan. They are growing up yet they still are little boys on the inside, even if they don't want their Moms to see that, so its fun to see them act so silly together! On a different note, don't forget to watch QVC tomorrow as its Count Down to Christmas, only 91 days left folks! Better get started on those holiday projects now! I have started one, I'd love to share but that would ruin the surprise for that special someone who may be seeing this, so sorry but you'll have to wait til after Christmas so we don't ruin Mari's fun Christmas surprise! I wanted to share my Git 'R Done Wednesday project as well, but I didn't get enough time to finish it as I had a meeting for church, but it is more done than yesterday..so maybe I can share tomorrow! Catch ya later!

Personalscrapper crop

It's not too late folks to join in the fun over at Personalscrapper, they are having a super fun crop that started on Friday the 19th and runs until Tuesday the 23rd. I say super fun because there are 17 challenges for you to participate in. I didn't have a ton of time this weekend to devote to cropping but I managed to squeeze in a bit LOL! Here are some of the layouts I got done: for the journaling challenge I did this fun page using the May 2008 Personalscrapper kit. Erica picks out the best kits, filled with all the latest and greatest goodies, I highly recommend them! I used a picture of Jakob taken on our duck feeding excursion last week. For the second page I used the same kit but this is based on the sketch for one of the challenges. The best thing about this page is I used up some stickers I got in 1999 from a class I took at the Great American Scrapbook convention! I plan on squeezing in some more cropping tonite during our Monday nite football time so check back tomorrowto see what I get done!

A perfect evening ....

We had an excellent time with our friends Angie, Logan and little Miss Ellie last night. We decided to enjoy the beautiful pre-fall weather and took a little trip to see our friends the ducks. It was so funny that when we arrived at the lake we saw no ducks whatsoever, but it didn't take them long to smell the bread and come running~ literally! They came from every which way. The boys were a little scared of the two big geese that came to be fed but we enjoyed feeding them til our bread ran out. It was a perfect evening for such an outdoor adventure! This weekend I am participating in a crop over at my fav site personalscrapper, check it we'd love to have you join us! http://www.personalscrapper.com/

Git 'R Done Wednesday

I think we all have a stack of half completed projects laying around somewhere. Well, I decided to clean out my "junk" drawer last weekend and found a bunch of semi-completed layouts. I am sure I had some brilliant idea for each and every one of them at some time. However, that idea has since been replaced by 1000 other ideas completed or not completed. I made it a goal to get these things FINISHED...somehow....someway....so Wednesdays are my day to do that until such a time when I have no half completed things lying around anymore...and believe you me, that is going to be as they say a month of Wednesdays from now. So here is my first completed 1/2 finished project I found lying on the top of my drawer...started July 2007....finished Sept. 2008! I didn't have a whole lot of time to finish this either as Wednesday's are also family game night at our house. Tonight it was Monopoly that is the JR version, which takes a lot less time, especially if you play with me. I ran out of money on my third time around the board and lost... and so here is a picture of Jakob throwing up all his ill gotten gains from his poor broke mommy.

Tuesday is use your stash day!

I have decided to designate Tuesday as use your stash day. I find myself wanting more and more "new" things and cannot seem to justify buying them when I haven't even used the "old" things I have. I have been drooling over some of the new Christmas papers that have come out, but cannot bring myself to buy anymore until I use those I bought on a whim last year. So here is a card I made using some of "last years" papers! I plan on making these as sets of 8 using my new Deer Friends stamp set and donating at least one set to my church's Lord's Acre next month. So dig into your stash ladies and use up some of that "last years" stuff and made something useful from it. Even if you cannot use it for your personal use, then consider donating it to your church or school's fundraiser event and/or use it as gifts for the upcoming holidays. Nothing is better than a homemade gift after all! Tune back in tomorrow for Git "R Done Wednesday.....

My First Post!

Well, I have finally decided to join the blogosphere! So I guess I am officially a blogger! I hope to use this blog to show my most recent creations and share my love of scrapbooking and stamping with all my friends and family. I hope to meet some new friends along the way as well. I have been inspired by so many talented ladies and their blogs, feel free to check out some of my faves listed on the sidebar! I will leave you with a picture of my most recently created scrapbook page. I am sad to see summer go as we have enjoyed so many fun times at the waterpark and pool this summer but I am looking forward to fall and cooler weather and the opportunity to scrapbook all the fun things fall and winter bring!
