National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day @ Paperhouse Productions!!

Happy National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day!!  Today I am up on the Paperhouse Productions blog sharing my Journey book spread to celebrate National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day!  We all love our fur babies and using our Journey Book inserts is a great way to to document the fun, happy, and silly times with your sweet pet or pets! Today I am sharing the story of how I met the neighborhood cat in the small town neighborhood my brother lives in.  Here is my spread created in my Color washed Journey book insert:
Supplies Used: Color washed Journey Book insert; Patterned Paper: Explore Your World Tags Paper;  Washi: Blush Washi Tape Set; Stickers: Best friends Sculpted stickers; Cats Illustrated 2″ stickers; Cat Faces Puffy Stickers & Cat Faces To Go stickers; card stock: CTMH- from my stash; die- hello: Lawn Fawn; letter stickers: Elle's Studio, stamp: date- Elle's Studio; ink: CTMH black archival.

Here is what the outside of the insert looks like ( this one is the multi-colored one)
I used one of the cut apart cards from the Explore your World Tags paper to make a pocket to hold my journaling. I did my journaling on 2 tags and used my computer to do the journaling as this story was a bit long as it covered 3 years! I stamped directly on the cut apart card so the date was front and center to remind me of the first time I met Buddy! Here is a close up of the journaling tags

The journaling chronicles how I first met Buddy the cat back in the Fall of 2016. While on my yearly visit to my brother’s home and while on a walk with my little nephew we saw a cat sunning on the front porch of a home. I found out the next day from the home owner of the home where he was sunning himself that he was actually the neighborhood cat. He was super friendly and instead of taking him to the shelter all the neighbors in this small community care for Buddy so all his needs are met! For the past 3 years I have visited my brother every Fall & my nephew and I always walk in the neighborhood and go visit Buddy. If we don’t see him we call for him by name and he will come running to us! This past Spring when I heard of severe flooding in my brother’s town I immediately became worried for not only the townspeople but Buddy! I was so glad to learn after the flooding was over Buddy was safe and sound and his neighborhood family as usual was giving him the best care and watching out for him!
I love the puffy stickers at Paper House Productions!  These stickers give so much texture without all the bulk of the thicker 3D stickers.  Here is a close up of the Best Friends Sculpted Words stickers and the Cat faces puffy stickers:

I would love to hear more about your pets or see how you have documented your pet memories!! Feel free to share with me in the comments below!  For more great ideas on how to use your Paper House products make sure and check out all the inspiring ideas on the Paper House blog!  Happy creating!!

Sketch N Scrap card sketch #144

Happy Easter!! Today I am sharing with you my card using card sketch #144 at Sketch N Scrap!  Here is the sketch created by yours truly:

Here is my card using this sketch:
Supplies Used: Card base- CTMH; Patterned Paper: Background- American Crafts Stay Colorful, stripe: PhotoPlay Paper Spring in my Garden. & Woodgrain- Stampin' Up; sticker: PhotoPlay Paper: Spring in my Garden; doily: unknown; sentiment- hello: Simple Stories Bliss
I had so much fun making this card.  I did my best to bring the cheerfulness of Spring into this card!! I think I succeeded with this fun flower sprig and lovely Spring colors!  I used up a few scraps for this card, all the papers were in my scrap bin...and the sticker was a stray I needed to use up on one of my 12 x 12 sticker sheets, I have WAY to many of these partial sheets and am on a mission to use up most of them this year!  I hope you will have a go at this simple yet elegant card sketch, make sure and check out all the beautiful cards the DT made using this sketch on the Sketch N Scrap Blog.  Happy creating!!

Double Page fun with the April Flavors of the Month kit!

Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a wonderfully relaxing weekend with ample crafty time!  Today I am sharing a fun double page layout I created using the April Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom. Here is the kit:

Here is the Pinkfresh Studio Out & About Mini kit I used for my layout:

Here is my layout using this fun kit:
Supplies Used: cardstock: grey- from the kit; Patterned Paper: Pinkfresh Studios Out & About- from the kit; ephemera: PinkFresh Studios Out & About - from the kit
I had such fun with the circle paper called Explore- I actually cut out a bunch of the circles using my circle cutter to make some fun embellishments for my layout!!  I loved those circles and that paper but when you are making a double page spread and only have one sheet of the paper you have to compromise by cutting out the circles instead of using the full sheet of paper!  Plus I LOVED the "B" side as well (red grid) so I also wanted to use both sides of this amazing paper!  This line was perfect for my friends trip photos from last Fall when they went to Germany! I love how colorful this line is without being to kiddish...just an great overall line!! Make sure and hop on over to the ScrapRoom blog to check out what amazing double page layouts the DT came up with using this fun kit!!  Have a blessed week and happy crafting!!

Paper House Productions Star Gazer Collection!

Good morning!  I am super excite to share my first DT product with you for Paper House Productions! Today I am using the absolutely gorgeous Stargazer collection!  Here is my project:
Supplies Used: all by Paper House Productions: Color washed Journey notebook insert; Stargazer Night Sky & Galaxy Foil Paper; Stargazer Shine Bright & Dream Big cardstock Stickers; Stargazer washi tape set; Celestial & Stargazer Faux enamel stickers.
I just loved the TN's called Journey Books from Paper House! They have so many beautiful covers and inserts it is hard to choose just one!! I am using the Be Positive Journey book insert for this project from the Color Washed collection. Here is what it looks like on the outside:
Aren't these colors divine???  You can purchase yours here.
I had 3 photos I wanted to use on this layout. I am making this Journey book as a gift for my friend's daughter's middle school graduation coming up. I thought it would be a fun memento of her middle school years! For this book, I am actually not doing a chronological book, just a collection of memories for her from the past 3 years....so it will not be my usual chronological style scrapbook but I think she will still love it! I picked these pictures because my friend, her daughter, her daughter's friend and myself participated in a 5K walk last month and the girls' shirts perfectly matched the Stargazer collection! I loved all of the Stargazer stickers so much I wanted to use the second page as just a fun mix of stickers and my title so I ended up making a fold out flap to "hide" and "house" my other 2 photos. Here is a close up of this:

I took a 6.25 inch x 2.5 inch piece of Stargazer Galaxy Foil paper and folded it in half so that I could mount two pictures inside and one picture on the front. I added some of the narrow Stargazer washi tape to the inside edges to jazz it up and then added a faux enamel sticker to the top right corner of the third picture. I used one of the faux enamel stickers from the Stargazer collection as my little "handle" so I can open and close the flap. I backed that sticker where it was still showing with white cardstock so it wouldn't be sticky and stick to my project! Here is a close up of my "handle":
I hope you were inspired by my project!  Stay tuned for more Journey Book projects as I continue to fill this book up with memories for sweet Miss Ellie!!  And don't forget to visit the Paper House blog to check out all the amazing and inspiring projects using the Stargazer collection this week!  Happy creating!

April Jump Start Sketch Challenge at the ScrapRoom!

Happy April!! I hope your month is off to a good start!  Mine sure is, I've had plenty of crafty time which is always a win in my book!!  Today I am sharing my layout created with the gorgeous April Flavors of the month kit at The ScrapRoom using the super fun April Jump Start Sketch by the talented Rochelle Spears!!
Here is the kit:

Here is the PhotoPlay Free Bird Mini Kit I used for my layout:

The gorgeous sketch created by Rochelle Spears for this challenge:

My layout using this fun kit and sketch:

I just love these adorable pictures of my friends little granddaughter and her mom, they are so fun and playful just like the PhotoPlay Free Bird collection so I thought it was a match made in heaven, especially as the colors were perfect for her little bear outfit!! This sketch is so fun and there are so many possibilities with it!  I used the included banner letters to start my title with a fun banner I stapled onto my layout in the upper left corner, then I carried out the rest of my title with fun letter stickers under the right picture.   For my tags I just snipped the corner of a piece of patterned paper (green tag) and added some fun bakers twine.  For the second tag I used one included in my kit, however, it had that sweet little cactus (by left picture) and I hated to cover it up, so I fussy cut it and added it as an embellishment to the left of my layout!  I also doodled around the edges of the circles and papers to give this layout a fun whimsical look!  Make sure and check out what the other DT members did with this fun sketch and kit by visiting The ScrapRoom blog!!!  We hope you will play along with the JumpStart challenge this month!!  Happy creating!
