Sketch N Scrap card sketch #162

Good evening!  Today was a long day at work but I was able to get a wee bit of creative time this evening and create a card based on the January 20th card sketch at Sketch N Scrap.  Here is the sketch created by yours truly:

Here is my card created using this sketch:
Supplies Used: card stock: Stampin' Up Crumb Cake & chocolate chip; Patterned Paper: Simple Stories Winter Wonderland; ink: Stampin' Up chocolate chip; stamp: CTMH From Me to You; ephemera: Simple Stories Winter Wonderland; rhinestone: Queen & Co; sentiment sticker: Simple Stories
I needed a masculine card so I decided to use my January Great Stash Bash kit and use a deer in that kit vs a heart as shown in the sketch.  I really like how it turned out!  If you missed my post on The Great Stash Bash of 2020 go HERE to learn more.  I am making slow progress with my kit and need to pick up the pace if I am going to use it up!!  Wish me luck!  I hope you will play along with us at Sketch N Scrap this month, you have until January 31st at 9:55 pm CST to join us! Happy creating!

As you can see I left my TN this month to work on playing catch up in my December Junk Journal/Planner.  I was participating in the Jolly Junk Journal challenge on Instagram and as you can see got behind, but I am determined to be a finisher so decided to use this sketch to get a layout done in my December Daily Junk Journal this month!!  Here are a few close ups:

For Lori's Challenge I used mostly papers and embellishments from my December 2018 Hip Club kit.   I added in a few pieces of Crate Paper Snowflake paper that I just got this past December as my new item.  Here is a close up of the second page:
For this page I used the packaging from a set of clear stickers that came in my kit, waste not want not right?  And after all, that is what a junk journal is all about, although as you can see I am not to "junky" lol!
We didn't have the require 3 participants for this past month's challenge so we have no winner but a HUGE thank you for those who did play along!!  I really enjoyed this challenge and I hope you will as well!!  I hope you can find time to play along with us in the New Year!! Here is the prize you will be playing for this month:

Simple Stories Hey Crafty Girl ~ January Flavors of the month kit @ The ScrapRoom!

Good evening!  Today I am sharing another layout using the absolutely diving January Flavors of the Month kit from The ScrapRoom!  Here is the full kit:

Here is the Simple Stories Hey Crafty Girl mini kit I used for today's layout:

Here is the layout I created with this amazing collection:

Supplies Used:  Patterned Paper: Simple Stories Hey Crafty Girl- from the kit; ephemera: Simple Stories Hey Crafty Girl - from the kit; Stickers: Simple Stories Hey Crafty Girl- from the kit & embellishment kit; enamel hearts: from the kit; enamel dot: My Mind's Eye- from my stash
When I saw all the fun crafty embellishments in this kit I knew I just had to use it for this picture of the first time I met Cori Spieker The Reset Girl!  I was so excited to meet her in person and check off one of my scrappy bucket list items!  It was a dream come true!!  I had originally learned about The Reset Girl when while at The Scrapbook Expo a friend purchase The Reset Girl line from Simple Stories.  I decided I was on a spending freeze and didn't purchase it at that time...however, after seeing the cute stuff my friend did with the cute birdie paper and embellishments I really wanted it so I googled it trying to locate some (which was tricky since it was retired) and that's when I found The Reset Girl You Tube channel...I watched all of her videos on her channel and was HOOKED!!  Imagine my excitement when just a few short months later I found out she was coming to The Little Blue House, a scrapbook store near me! WOW! I was over the moon and determined to go to her class.  Before I could sign up for the first 2 classes they sold out, I was so disappointed.  THEN low and behold a third class opened up and I was able to secure myself a spot!! I consider myself one of The Reset Girl's biggest fans and just love her heart and her passion for encouraging and engaging women in the crafting world!  I've since been able to attend 3 of her retreats and love each one and hope to go on more in the future!  Make sure and hop on over to the ScrapRoom blog see all the amazing projects the DT created with this awesome line! Happy creating!

January Flavors of the Month kit ~ PhotoPlay We are Family

Happy Hump Day!  Today I am sharing another layout I created using the amazing January Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom!!  Here is the full kit:

Here is the PhotoPlay We Are Family mini kit I used on today's layout:

Here is my layout created with this beautiful kit:
Supplies Used: Card stock: blue- from the kit; Patterned Paper: PhotoPlay Paper We Are Family- from the kit; doily- from my stash; stickers: PhotoPlay We are Family- from the kit; enamel dots: My Mind's Eye- from my stash
This kit was perfect to document a picture from Thanksgiving of each of my parents' grandkids. I made my parent's a framed scrapbook layout about 4 years ago of pictures of the grandkids but of course they have grown a bit in the past 4 years so it was time for a new layout using updated pictures!  This line was perfect for this!! The patterns are so pretty and home decor like and the embellishments are just lovely as well!  Make sure and hop over to The ScrapRoom blog to see what the other DT members did with this beautiful kit!!  Happy creating!!

Card sketch #161 at Sketch N Scrap

Happy Monday!!  Has your New Year gotten off to a good start? I sure hope so!  Today I am sharing my card made using the January 5th card sketch by the very talented Heather Hall at Sketch N Scrap!  Here is the sketch:

Here is my card using the sketch:
Supplies Used: Card stock: White & Black- CTMH; Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye Splendor; stamp: CTMH Random Acts of Cardness; dies: Stampin' Up- circle and scallop circle; ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
I love how this turned out!  I used my new 6 x 6 My Mind's Eye Splendor pad that I picked up on my last trip to Tuesday Morning back in November.  I just love these papers!! I thought they were perfect for cards so instead of hoarding them for a year I decided to go ahead and dig in!!  So glad I did, this card turned out so pretty and I made 2 exactly the same!  This sketch is so versatile that I know I will use it time and time again!  I am loving this sentiment as well, in fact this CTMH Stamp of the Month I got a while back is amazing and has a lot of really fun sentiments, it's my go to stamp set lately for card making!!  I hope you will hop on over to the Sketch N Scrap blog to check out what the other DT members did with this fun sketch !  And if you have the time why not join in the fun and play along with one of our sketches!  Happy creating!

Freaky Fast Formula using the January Flavors of the month kit!!

TGIF!!  It's the first Friday of the New Year!! YAY!  Today it's my turn to use the Freaky Fast Friday Formula at The ScrapRoom!!  I'm using the awesome January Flavors of the month kit for my layout today.  Here is the beautiful kit:

Here is the formula for today's challenge:

Here is my layout using Friday's Freaky Fast Formula AND the Carta Bella Snow Much Fun collection included in this month's Flavors of the Month kit:

Supplies Used: Cardstock: White- from the kit; Patterned Paper: Carta Bella Snow Much Fun- from the kit; ephemera: Carta Bella Snow Much Fun- from the kit: enamel dots: Carta Bella Snow Much Fun- from the kit; chipboard: Carta Bella Snow Much Fun- from the embellishment kit
I had this one random picture of my sister in law and nephew that I felt was perfect for this line!  The funny thing is this picture was actually taken in May NOT in the Winter, although I think they would be tell you it felt like Winter out on the lake one cold morning!!  So even if you don't live a cold climate where you get snow I think you will find these papers are generic enough you can use them for non-Winter layouts/projects as well!  I just loved the cut apart cards and the colors of this line!  I hope you will hop on over to The ScrapRoom blog to check out what the other DT members did with this fun kit!  Happy creating!

It's only January 2nd and I'm already digging into my Great Stash Bash 2020 kit!!  If you missed my previous post on my Great Stash Bash of 2020 kit see the blog post HEREJust a reminder here is my kit I made from my stash and am going to bash in January 2020:

Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash of 2020 ~ The Journey Begins!!

Happy New Year friends!! Today is a new year, a new decade and a we all have a fresh clean slate!  Today my journey with my scrappy friend Lori begins as we endeavor to bash some stash!!  Today we launch a fun monthly challenge we are calling Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash of 2020!!  Woohooo ~ Let the fun begin!!!!

Have you set any goals for the New Year yet?  I have a new word and LOTS of goals both personal and scrappy!! (more about my word and other goals later)....one of my major scrappy goals for this year is to USE MY STASH!!!  I won't scare you with pictures of my out of control stash because...well, it's embarrassing & scary!!  Ladies, my stash is out of control and it's time to get it back under control and I hope to do so with Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash challenge!!
Here is how it works:
On the 1st of each month we will post a challenge prompt and the stash kit we have created following that prompt. During the month we will try to use as much of our stash kits as possible on different projects. Then, on the last day of the month, we will do a recap post showing what stash we were able to bash!
This will be a just-for-fun challenge so no monthly prize - but isn't the real prize using up our stash? You never know - if we still have a few unused stash items after a few months, then those items may just go into a giveaway. We hope you will join us in our quest to bash some stash in 2020. If you accept the challenge to play along - link up on either my blog or Lori's blog (or both if you choose) so that we can see who is joining us each month!
Now for our January challenge:
This month we will creating a kit with 10 papers (seven papers 3 years or older & three newer papers), 5-7 scrap papers, 4 embellishments (three that are 3 years or older & one newer one), and 1 or more punches!!
Since this is a just for fun challenge the rules are not set in stone BUT we have them to help you focus on what really matters using your stash & to help spread the word of our fun challenge so others may join in!!  You know you have at least one friend who needs to use her stash!!
Here are the rules:
1. Follow the challenge prompt to create a kit to work with throughout the month. You may use other items, but please concentrate on using your kit.
2. Create new, not previously posted projects using your stash kit.
3. If you have a blog - please include the challenge graphic and a link to our challenge in your posts.
4. You may link to social media if you don't have a blog. If you share on Instagram, please make sure to use - #lisaandlorisgreatstashbash2020

Here is the kit I created using January's prompts:

Some close ups:
My 7 older papers from Simple Stories Winter Wonderland collection:

My newer papers from Crate Paper & CTMH:

My scraps (oops I see I picked 8 not 7!):

My embellishments- Simple Stories Wonderland stickers (4 x 6 sheets & 12 x 12 sheet) and ephemera pack all 3 years old & the Thickers (gold) are brand new to me:
For my punches I selected an older Stampin' Up snowflake punch, Stampin' Up scallop border punch (first one I ever purchased) & a Stampin' Up notebook edger punch to use this month, all of which I still love but rarely use anymore!!
I also wanted to share a picture of my scrapping desk all set up for the New Year (usually it's a mess lol!)  I plan to keep my kit contents out where I can see them and easily access them to make sure I will use them up this month!
Here is my desk:
I also added a section to my organizer with possible project life cards to use with my kit & enamel dots.  The smaller organizer will hold my punches, enamel dots, stickers and scraps.  The larger one behind the bottom one will hold my full sized papers and larger stickers.  I used a container from The Container Store to place my ephemera, this keeps it easily accessible so I don't have to dig through the plastic packaging & now I can see everything easily!
I hope you will play along with us this month as we bash some stash!!  Make sure and follow Lori or myself on our blogs or on Instagram to see the fun projects we create using our kits!!  Happy bashing friends!!
