Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style Sketch #83

Good morning!  I almost forgot to share with you my latest layout using a fun sketch I created for the Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style blog!  I am a newbie at Project Life layouts but find they are pretty fun to do and I am really loving getting caught up on some of my older albums more quickly by doing these Project life spreads!  Here is the sketch:

Here is my card based on the sketch:
Supplies Used:  Patterned Paper & stickers: Simple Stories 100 days of Summer

I decided to use this fun sticker that coordinated with my papers instead of a calendar on my card!  I didn't have a calendar for that year and decided to use the year under my "Summer" pre-made card!
Here is the entire layout I made to go with the card I made from the sketch:
Supplies Used:  Sticker & Patterned Paper from Simple Stories 100 days of Summer line; die cuts (journal box)- Simple Stories Summer Days line

I loved using up some more of the papers from my 100 paper challenge on this layout!  It has been a year now and I have only put a "slight" dent in my 100 paper stack, I think I was a bit ambitious on this challenge, I am going to revamp it a bit in September and make my stack a "short stack" instead of such a large one and see if I can knock off a "Short stack" by next year!  So stay tuned for a fun new challenge!  I still love this older line from Simple Stories and it combined great with the newer line from Simple Stories called Summer Days!  These pictures were taken on our vacation to Coco Beach, Florida way back in 2009!  It was my son's first time to see the ocean and we had a blast!!  Glad to have this trip and it's pictures finally complete in my album!  Now we can take a new trip lol!  Make sure and hop on over to the Sketches In Thyme Project Life Style blog and see all the fun sketches as well as the other DT member's take on my sketch!  There is LOADS of inspiration on this one little blog!  Plus there is a chance to win a fun prize if you play along!

Here are my cards created using this kit:

These cards came to together so quickly using this kit! Everything coordinated so well together!  Plus I have scraps left over to create at least another 4-5 cards!  I would just need to add more card bases! The only things I used from my stash were white and black pearls for the 1st 3rd and 4th cards and my butterfly and scallop circle punches for the 1st card!! Everything else you see came in the kit including the card bases, envelopes and card stock!!  Plus I can use that adorable stamp and mini ink pad over and over again! This is my new favorite sentiment stamp, it is just perfect for so many occasions!  Make sure and stop by The ScrapRoom blog to see what the other card designer, Dee created with her kit!  If you would like to purchase your own kit go HERE, you won't be sorry you did!  Plus you get step by step directions to MANY of the cards created by the DT using this kit!  What a fun, fast and easy way to create a bunch of cards to have in your stash!!!!  Make sure and share here what you create with your kit, I would love to see!!

Sketch N Scrap Card sketch #104

August is winding down, my baby went back to school on Friday to start his second year of college.  It was a whirlwind week as we got him ready for marching band camp and move in on Friday, it's still SUPER hot here in Texas so you have to be prepared when spending all day outside! Today time in my craft room was just what the doctor ordered for this Momma missing her boy!  I had fun playing with the August 20th sketch at Sketch N Scrap, created by me!  Here is the sketch:

And here are my cards created with the sketch:
Supplies Used: Card stock: CTMH White Daisy, Thistle, Bashful; Ink: CTMH: Thistle, Sea Glass, & Bashful; Patterned Paper: Little Dreamer Paper Pack; Stamps:  Little Dreamer ; Dies: Little Dreamer Thin Cuts & Stampin' Up Circle & Scallop Framelits; Enamel Heart: Recollections

Supplies: Cardstock: CTMH White Daisy, Stampin' Up- Basic Black & Tempting Turquoise; Patterned Paper: Photo Play Summer Bucket List & Simple Stories Domestic Bliss; Sticker: Photo Play Summer Bucket List; Ink: Memento Black; Stamps: CTMH Little Dreamer; Dies: CTMH Little Dreamer & Stampin' Up Circle & Starburst

I had so much fun creating both cards!!  The first card I made for a friend who loves unicorns...I think she will enjoy it, her birthday is Monday!! Here is a peek at the inside:
Truth be told I bought this whole set for that darn saying LOL!  I know it's crazy but I LOVE it!!! If you are interested in this stamp set it is retiring at the end of August, you can see it on my website HERE.  I don't always decorate the inside of my cards but thought this one needed it plus I had these scraps left over so what a good way to use them up!! Don't you just love these colors? Thistle is my newest favorite color, such a pretty shade of purple!
The second card I made from some scraps I had left over from my July ScrapRoom kit!  I have just a VERY small amount of scraps left from this kit and hope to make at least 1-2 more cards with them! It was a really fun kit!  I think it is sold out but you can see the current kits for August at The ScrapRoom store!  I hope you will hop on over to the Sketch N Scrap blog to check out all the amazing examples created by the DT!!  Make sure and play along with us, you have until August 31st at midnight CST to enter our challenge for a chance to win a fantastic prize!  I can't wait to see what you create!

The ScrapRoom August Doubleshot kit

Good morning!!   Just popping in at the start of the day to show off my double page layout using the August Doubleshop kit from The ScrapRoom!!  This layout is made using the Fancy Pants Hello Sunshine part of the kit!  Here is the kit:

And here is my double page layout using this super fun kit!!

The colors in this line went so well with the fun pictures of my niece and nephew hunting for sea shells on the beach in Pensacola, Florida one summer!! I think these striking colors look great with pops of black and then to make it stand out even more I added some white pen doodling! I had so much fun with this layout, and the only thing I added from my stash was black card stock and a white pen! As you can see the kit is packed with the perfect amount of embellishments and papers! Make sure and pop on over to The ScrapRoom blog to check out the amazing layouts created by the other DT members!!!  Happy creating friends!

Fun with challenges!

My niece was at it again today!  I think we may have created a monster lol! She has decided she loves to participate in all the fun challenge blogs there are out there!  I think she and I agree on one thing, there is not enough hours in the day to create and play!  Here is her first ever scrapbook layout:
She did this entirely on her own, the only thing I helped with was to explain how to use a sketch and how to use the tape runner.  She did have a newbie scrappers mishap when she accidentally applied the tape runner to the wrong side of the paper!  But I know I still do that on occasion!  She is a whiz at cutting paper and measuring before she cuts so I think she makes an awesome scrapbooker!  Given that she is only 9 years old I think she will just get better and better as she practices!  This layout was made using the sketch at Sketch N Scrap for August 1st.  She is also entering into the challenge at Lasting Memories Layout challenge blog for challenge #356: In the House.  The challenge is to make a layout about a in house pet or animal and she is using picture of her and her cat Mack!  I think she did an awesome job with the challenge and sketch don't you?  She is an animal lover so I think this challenge was right up her alley!

Next up is her card she created for her Gram using the sketch at  Clean & Simple Stamping using sketch #27

Here is her card using the sketch:

Once again very little to no help from me, she did need help with the embossing folder and the punch for the scallop but other then that it was all her ideas and stamping!  I thought she did a spectacular job on stamping the sentiment!  Today we learned how to color an image using markers, she likes that technique as she loves to color!
Katie would like to thank everyone for looking at her projects today!  Thanks for stopping by!

Stick It Down ~ I love cats!

We spent the day making cards today!  We had a lot of fun playing around with different sketches and even creating a few cards of our own design!  Today my niece Katie decided she wanted to get in on the fun and enter a challenge or two.  She was able to complete one card for the Stick it Down challenge!  Here is the August card sketch from Stick it Down:
Here is Katie's card:

Here she is all smiles with her completed project!

Katie is just 9 years old and this is her first time to use a sketch!  I think she did a great job don't you?  I think we have a budding sketch challenge junkie on our hands!  Tomorrow we are tackling a layout sketch!  Have a great weekend and happy creating!
