Game Show Challenge fun at Cookin' Up Creations!!

Good morning friends!  Happy Monday!  Today it's my turn to host the last challenge for August at Cookin' Up Creations!  August is Game Show Month at Cookin' Up Creations and all the challenges are based on classic game shows! Today's challenge based on the game show Family Feud!  Family Feud is such an iconic game show and has run for a total of 2,311 episodes so far!  WOW!  Today my challenge is to create a layout about a family tradition using this fun Becky Fleck sketch:

Here is my layout based on the sketch and the Family Feud Challenge:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Hip Kit Club & Pink Fresh Studios; cardstock: Bo Bunny Swiss Dot White; punch: Stampin' Up notebook edger; frame & doily: Unknown source; chipboard: Made with Love- Scenic Route; stars: Pink Paislee; stickers: gingerbread lady- Doodlebug Designs & Mouse- Hip Kit Club; ephemera: holly swag- Hip Kit Club

My niece and I love to have host a fun dinner on Christmas Eve after our church service.  Every year she plans a fun snack to "create".  This picture is from 2017 and that year she created a fun Christmas tree using grapes, strawberries, a celery stick and a star cut out with a star cookie cutter from a piece of cheese!!  Each year we have so much fun planning what she will do.  Last year it was a hot cocoa bar and she made snowmen out of marshmallows and candy canes for us to dunk in our hot cocoa!!  We have so much fun planning and looking on Pinterest for ideas!  This is a fun tradition we started back in 2015 and I hope we will carry through for years to come!!  Make sure and head on over to the forum at Cookin' Up Creations to join in the fun, we would love to see your favorite family traditions!

Challenge fun!

I hope everyone had a scrappy weekend!  I was able to spend the weekend cropping with my BFF in St Louis!  It was one of the best crops I have attended (and yes, I've been to a lot!).  This crop was sponsored by First Class Scraps.  Mary Jo and Maureen who run it are the nicest, most sweet and fun people I have met !  They make your experience VERY enjoyable and I felt as if I had known them my whole life, very inspiring ladies to meet!  If you have a chance to attend one of their crops make sure and do so, it is DEFINITELY worth traveling to as well!  You won't regret your experience there , the facilities are lovely, the food is great, the cropping group is super friendly and fun and you have TONS of space and time to work on what you want!  While I was there I was able to get  layouts done for a few challenges.  Here is my layout using the new Fancy Pants Boardwalk collection:
Supplies Used: Paper: Fancy Pants Boardwalk, CTMH (red diagnol) & Echo Park
(orange background); cardstock: Stampin Up Basic Black and Red Riding Hood; metal
accent: Fancy Pants; flower: felt fusion; letter stickers: Fancy Pants; Journal card: Fancy Pants

I created this page for two challenges.  The first challenge is for Paper Secrets sketch with a twist.  Here is the sketch by Page Maps:
The twist was to use a project life type card on your layout, I had to borrow one from my table mate and it was funny how this older Fancy Pants line matched the newer one!  Love happy mistakes since I forgot the twist and didn't pack a card to use!    I am also entering this is Personalscrapper's Summer Camp challenge to use the word Summer in your title using two different alpha stickers!   I hope you will have a scrappy happy week folks!  I did a bunch of layouts at the crop, not all of which I can show just yet, so stay tuned for more inspiration soon on the old bloggo!  Toodles!

Second one hour challenge!

I'm back with my second one hour challenge, this time using a Page Maps sketch by Becky Fleck (love her sketches!), and this time around I actually didn't cheat at all! Yay me!!! I was able to finish in one hour without any difficulty this time, having the sketch to guide me really helped. I used the new Jillibean Soup line called Watermelon Gazpacho which I received in my June Personalscrapper kit. All supplies are Jillibean Soup except for the big star brad by Queen and company. I picked up a lot of fun embellies from the Queen and Company booth during the Great American Scrapbook Convention in Arlington this year! I love their embellishments, so versatile! This picture you might recognize from our annual Memorial Day trip to NRH2O waterpark...with our first time to take my niece who is 3! We had a great time as usual and really this was my only good picture of the whole day, so had to scrap it right away! Have a happy fourth everyone and take lots of pictures!

The alphabet challenge

I know its pretty pathetic, but I seem to get more done much quicker when I am working on a challenge. Challenge #15 in the Pay it Forward Crop at Personalscrapper was to use at least 3 alphas on your page. I decided to use my new blog candy I just received from one of my most favorite manufacturers Cosmo Cricket, Early Bird. Still can't believe I won that! The whole kit and kaboodle folks, the folks over at Cosmo are SOOOOOO generous, they are alwasy having give aways! I used this photo of my son and my niece taken in the front yard on July 4th. She refused to hold my hand when I told her "Hold hands" cuz she was trying to run off to the park, and she shook her head "NO" vigorously and then said "Cakie" and grabbed Jake's hand (she calls him Cakie) How cute is that? So I quickly snapped this photo, it is so sweet and PERFECT for this Early Bird paper! I also used a Pink Paislee die cut accent, Making Memories puffy and tiny stickers, Adornit tiny stickers AND Jenni Bowlin chalkboard alphabet stickers on this page. The other accents were cut out by hand and the "DONT FORGET" little tab was cut off a journal jotter from My Minds Eye (you can barely see it in the upper left hand of the pic). The other journaling jotter is from the Noteworthy journal book by Making Memories. I also used one of the Page Maps sketches by Becky Fleck for this layout as well. I really LOVE all of the sketches this month and hope to use them all at some time before next month's come out! Before I close, I would like to give a shout out to my personalshopper Janelle! Yes, I have a personal shopper (didn't you know I was famous and too important to be bothered shopping for myself?)...no really, since we don't have an Archiver's here my good long time pal Janelle takes my order and gets my goodies when she stops by Archivers and ships it to me from Kansas City! Now that's a good friend huh? And NO you cannot have her number! HA! Hoping to take a few minutes to create something with my new goodies that arrived today so check back soon!

A sketchy challenge

I finished another daily challenge over at Personalscrapper last night. This challenge was from Mel and we were to use a Page Maps sketch from June. It was a fun sketch and a great one for getting lots of pictures on your page(s), and I will most definitely use it again! The papers featured here are from My Minds Eye and are part of the awesome and spectacular June kit from Personalscrapper! You won't want to miss this kit! These pictures are from a Spring outing with my nephew who loves the outdoors. We were looking for tadpoles, frogs and snakes after a heavy spring rain and he just couldn't resist playing in the water puddles! He had a blast! Well, off to finish my "homework" for Got Sketch 104, we've had our first assignment and I have it almost done! Can't wait to share it with you.

June Card Maps

I was so excited to have one of my cards featured on the Page Maps site for June. As everyone knows I love using sketches for my scrapbook pages and my cards are no different. Becky's sketches are some of the best and make papercrafting so much easier and fun, no matter if you are making a card or a single or double scrapbook page. Go check out all the awesome eye candy for June. And a special shout out to a fellow Personalscrapper pal of mine Mel. You can see her SUPER AWESOME double page layout called RELAY on the Page Maps site for June. Her photos she used on this layout are just awesome! Great job Mel! June is going to be a busy and exciting month for me, I got my card featured on the Page Maps site, we are going to Florida for some much needed R & R in a few days and Personalscrapper is having a LOAD contest (LayOut A Day) for this month, that means I am being challenged to create 30 pages for this month! WOW! Hope I'm up to it! Despite how many I actually end up creating, it is such a fun contest and besides the awesome prizes that will be up for grabs it is a chance to get your mojo flowing as each day a fun and innovative challenge is posted by a different member. I am working on mine and I almost have it done, but I can't reveal it until my challenge day on the 13th...so you'll have to wait til then! In the meanwhile I am working on completing today's challenge called the HAPPY CHALLENGE..it is to create a layout that makes you happy whether it be the photo, the paper or actually a page about something that makes you happy..what a fun challenge huh? I hope to finish mine before I leave in 2 days and share it with you, but if not look for it when I get back! Well, I'm off to fold some laundry and work on my layout!
