Sketch N Scrap #158

Happy Sunday!  I hope you have had a wonderful weekend and found time to be creative and indulge yourself a bit!  Today I enjoyed some "me" time and decided to play with the August 1st sketch at Sketch N Scrap!  This sketch was created by yours truly, here it is:

Here is my layout using the sketch:
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: October Afternoon, Echo Park About a Boy & Happy Camper; letter stickers: My Mind's Eye & Paper Trunk; Stickers: October Afternoon Campfire & Echo Park Happy Camper; enamel dots: My Mind's Eye; Journal Cards: unknown source (a gift from my friend Amy!)
I used up a lot of old stash on this layout! I was able to use up 1 and a half pieces of paper from my 100 paper Challenge as well as a number of old stickers that were in my Bashket!!  I have been hoarding my October Afternoon stuff since they are no longer in business, but the time has come to use it and make way for new stuff!!  I was inspired to create a layout with a camping/outdoors theme as I had recently been gifted some amazing journal cards with a camping theme and the colors are so soothing and inspiring I wanted to just use them up right away and not do my usual routine of hoarding it for the perfect project!!  Thanks to my buddy Amy at Paisley's Playhouse for such wonderful goodies!!  I love these photos of my brother, sister in law and nephew on their boat this Summer! I know they love it and it makes them happy like crafting makes me happy!  I hope you will find time to play along with us at Sketch N Scrap!  We have a Slice of Summer Crop going on until August 31st and of course our blog challenges are not ending to August 31st as well, so still plenty of time to play along!  Happy creating!

August Flavors of the Month kit ~ Fancy Pants On Our Way!

This week is flying by!  Are you excited for the weekend?  The Summer is winding down and it's our last free weekend of Summer break here so we plan to make the most of it!! Today I am sharing another layout created using the ScrapRoom August Flavors of the Month kit.  Here is reminder of the kit:

Here is the beautiful Fancy Pants On Our Way line I used from the kit:

For this layout I also used a sketch I designed for August's Jump start sketch challenge at The ScrapRoom.
Here is the sketch:

Here is my layout using this fun vibrant line & the sketch:
Supplies Used:  Cardstock: blue: Bazzill- from the kit & black: Stampin' Up- from my stash; Patterned Paper: Fancy Pants On Our Way- from the kit; ephemera: Fancy Pants On Our Way-from the kit; Buttons/flair: Fancy Pants On Our Way-from the kit; Dies: tag & Circles: Stampin' Up- from my stash; white pen: Sakura- from my stash
I love the colors in this line!! I think you could use this paper for any subject matter, not just travel!! I loved the ephemera and the map paper included in the kit so that is what I focused on! I used the map paper to make my title block/circle and I backed the title piece from the ephemera in the kit on black cardstock to make it pop! I followed the sketch pretty closely substituting the different pieces of ephemera from the kit for the flowers. I picked these pictures of my brother and his sweet family going out on a day trip to the lake to ride their bikes along the bike trail there!  They had a fun day and this bright paper really captures that fun!  I hope you will visit the ScrapRoom blog to see what the other DT members did with this fun line!  You will be inspired!  If you are interested in purchasing your own kit make sure and visit the ScrapRoom store!  Happy creating friends!

August Flavors of the Month Double Page layout

Good morning!!  Today I am sharing another layout created with the August Flavors of the Month kit.  This one is a double page spread!  As a reminder here is the delicious kit:
And here is the part of the main kit I am using on today's double page layout:  PhotoPlay Stuck on You:

And here is my layout using this fun kit!
Supplies Used: Cardstock: White- from the kit & black: Stampin' Up - from my stash; Patterned Paper: PhotoPlay Stuck on You- from the kit; stickers: PhotoPlay Paper Stuck on You- from the kit; enamel dots: My Mind's Eye- from my stash

I loved this kit the first time I saw it!! I think it was the birdies that first caught my attention, but also the vibrant colors and fun whimsical patterns!  Overall it's my FAVORITE PhotoPlay line yet!  PhotoPlay has become one of my favorite manufacturers, they seem to be on trend and have such cute lines with each and every release!!  I decided to use some Fall photos I took with my brother, sister-in-law and nephew on my trip to visit them last October.  The colors seem to work well for any season and since these pictures were of family and taken in front of their beautiful home I just felt like this line was perfect for these photos!  Make sure and hop on over to the ScrapRoom blog to see all the other AMAZING double page layouts the DT has created with this kit and other kits as well!!  I know you will be inspired!!  Happy creating my friends!!

Sketch N Scrap's Slice of Summer Crop

Happy Monday!! I hope your weekend was super productive!  Mine sure was, got to have some crafty time with friends and enjoyed creating a few cards and a few layouts!  The Sketch N Scrap Slice of Summer crop is still going on over on the Sketch N Scrap Facebook page and it was my turn to host Challenge #3!!

The challenge is to create a card using this amazing card sketch by Heather:

Here is my card using this sketch:
Supplies Used: card base: CTMH; Card stock: Stampin' Up- Basic Black, Pear Pizzaz, Pale Plum; Ink: CTMH Black; embossing folder: CTMH Rose; Dies: CTMH- Hearts; Stamp: CTMH- Inspired Words; stickers: (strips & sentiment) Basic Grey Kioshi

I love how this card turned out!!  I had stamped this heart a while ago while playing around with my new Inspired Words stamp set by Close to My Heart...who would have thought it matched these stickers lying in my BASHKET pile!!!  I knew once I saw this sketch that I would use these old Basic Grey border stickers as they would fit in with the sketch and also check off 3 things from my bash it basket/list!!  So I started searching for a flower to match the stickers and had a hard time finding one (I know hard to believe!)...so I switched courses to substitute the flower in the sketch for another shape and lo and behold when I searched my shape box I found this heart and it matched my stickers!!  I no longer have any of the Kioshi paper from Basic Grey so I had to improvise with cardstock that matched the stickers and decided to give my cardstock some flair by embossing it with my all time favorite ROSE embossing folder from Close to My Heart!!  I ended up using FOUR items from my bash it pile on this one card! YAY!  I can see myself using this sketch again, it is very versatile!  I hope it inspire you to play along with us at the Sketch N Scrap Slice of Summer crop!  All 4 challenges are now posted and you have until August 31st to play along with us!! Happy creating and see you at the crop!

Here is my layout using this super fun kit:

Here is a peek at the fun embellishment kit for August.  I used some of the stickers from the embellishment kit on my layout:

August Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom!

Happy Hump Day!! I am so excited to share the August Flavors of the Month kit with you this month!! This kit is super amazing!! Here is the kit in all it's glory:
Today I am sharing my layout using the Pebbles My Bright Life part of the kit.  Here is the Pebbles kit:
Here is my layout using this adorable kit:
Supplies Used: Cardstock: Navy- from the kit, gold & pink from my stash; Patterned Paper- Pebbles My Bright Life- from the kit; dies:  circles (Stampin' Up), CTMH (hello) & Sunshine - from my stash; Wink of Stella- from my stash; stickers: Pebbles My Bright Life- from the kit.
I loved the beautiful patterns in this line! The pops of gold really spoke to me so I used gold cardstock for the word SUNSHINE and I added Wink of Stella to it to give it some shimmer and shine!  The sticker sheet included in the kit has so many choices to embellish your layout, perfect for some many occasions!  I love the way this layout turned out and I love this picture of my friend's daughter, she is a true ray of sunshine, thus the title!!  I hope you will hop on over to the ScrapRoom blog to check out what the other DT members did with this amazing kit!  If you are so inclined to get this kit for yourself make sure and visit the ScrapRoom store, I know you will love it!!

Created by Lisa fun & cards!!!

I hope your August is off to a creative start!  I have been making cards for my stash, I am totally out of birthday cards and have a number of birthdays this month, so I have been busy making some of those.  I also needed a large number of cards for my Prayer Warrior group I am starting and so I needed a fast/easy recipe to create a large number of the same card!!  For the group cards I used the August 5th sketch (again!) from Sketch N Scrap.  Heather created a super fun sketch for us.
  Here it is:

Here is my card using this sketch:
Supplies Used:  Card stock: CTMH- white, black & Pacifica; Patterned Paper- CTMH- Central Park Paper Pack; stamp: CTMH- Be You; ink: CTMH-black; journal card- Stampin' Up; black pen- Sharpie, circle punch: EK Success 1 inch

I used a one inch circle punch and cut the circles in half to make the border at the top of my journal card. I stamped my sentiment on my journal card that was in my BASH IT basket. I like the border on the side of it and thought it gave the card some pizzazz...for the other cards (I need 12 of this card) I am going to re-create the journal card by using some washi tape along the side of a 3 x 4 piece of white card stock (I have a black and white cross washi that is similar to this design on the journal card).  Another way to use up some washi tape!!  This stamp is one of my favorites and goes along with one of my favorite bible verses: Joshua 1:9Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”  I am going to print this inside of each card with a personal note from me to each recipient.
Now for my next card, this one is for my newest challenge on my Created by Lisa Facebook page!  Check it out and play along!!
Supplies Used: Card stock: CTMH- white & Smoothie; Patterned Paper: CTMH- Beautiful Friendship paper pack; stamp: CTMH- Happy Birthday (M1186); ink:CTMH- charcoal; dies: CTMH- scallop border thin cut & Stampin' Up oval; twine- grey American Crafts; punch: Butterfly- Martha Stewart; rhinestones: CTMH
I am absolutely in love with this beautiful paper line!  The colors are so gorgeous!  The challenge I am running on my Created by Lisa Facebook page is to create a birthday card using 75% CTMH products!!  They can even be retired!  What an easy challenge!  I hope you will take it and play along.  You can view it HERE on my Facebook page.  I can't wait to see what you create for this challenge or for the Sketch N Scrap challenge!  Happy creating!

July 100 Paper Challenge Update!

Wow! Summer is flying by, soon it will be time for school to start up again!  It's time for my monthly update on my progress towards using up 100 patterned papers and some of my older stash for this year!  Now that the year is half over, I seem to be getting into the swing of things FINALLY...💜 So how did I do on my monthly goals?  Well, let's take a look:
1) Use 7 patterned Papers- ✅✅✅✅✅✅✅ SUCCESS!
2) Use 10 Bashket items- ✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅  SUCCESS!

4) Do all 4 weeks of the FLC challenges - ✅ALMOST!
5) Host a crafty garage sale to purge some stash-SUCCESS!
This was another SUPER busy month and the garage sale took up more of my time then expected but by setting less goals this month I was much more successful, having my best month yet in meeting my goals!! Once again I made a small dent in my stash! I  ended up achieving all my goals but doing all 4 of the FLC challenges, I only completed one week.  So now August is here and I am ready to get started on this months goals...here is this month's planner spread, another busy month ahead!

To save on shipping costs I think I will wait to order it until I achieve this months goals so I can reward myself with this month's coveted prize:  PHOTOPLAY STUCK ON COLLECTION kit!!! Happy stash bashing friends!
