I hope your August is off to a creative start! I have been making cards for my stash, I am totally out of birthday cards and have a number of birthdays this month, so I have been busy making some of those. I also needed a large number of cards for my Prayer Warrior group I am starting and so I needed a fast/easy recipe to create a large number of the same card!! For the group cards I used the August 5th sketch (again!) from Sketch N Scrap. Heather created a super fun sketch for us.
Here it is:
Here it is:
Here is my card using this sketch:
Supplies Used: Card stock: CTMH- white, black & Pacifica; Patterned Paper- CTMH- Central Park Paper Pack; stamp: CTMH- Be You; ink: CTMH-black; journal card- Stampin' Up; black pen- Sharpie, circle punch: EK Success 1 inch
I used a one inch circle punch and cut the circles in half to make the border at the top of my journal card. I stamped my sentiment on my journal card that was in my BASH IT basket. I like the border on the side of it and thought it gave the card some pizzazz...for the other cards (I need 12 of this card) I am going to re-create the journal card by using some washi tape along the side of a 3 x 4 piece of white card stock (I have a black and white cross washi that is similar to this design on the journal card). Another way to use up some washi tape!! This stamp is one of my favorites and goes along with one of my favorite bible verses: Joshua 1:9: Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” I am going to print this inside of each card with a personal note from me to each recipient.
Now for my next card, this one is for my newest challenge on my Created by Lisa Facebook page! Check it out and play along!!
Supplies Used: Card stock: CTMH- white & Smoothie; Patterned Paper: CTMH- Beautiful Friendship paper pack; stamp: CTMH- Happy Birthday (M1186); ink:CTMH- charcoal; dies: CTMH- scallop border thin cut & Stampin' Up oval; twine- grey American Crafts; punch: Butterfly- Martha Stewart; rhinestones: CTMH
I am absolutely in love with this beautiful paper line! The colors are so gorgeous! The challenge I am running on my Created by Lisa Facebook page is to create a birthday card using 75% CTMH products!! They can even be retired! What an easy challenge! I hope you will take it and play along. You can view it HERE on my Facebook page. I can't wait to see what you create for this challenge or for the Sketch N Scrap challenge! Happy creating!
I love both of these cards! Using the washi tape to recreate the first one is an awesome idea. I love the overall design of the second card, too.
