Fancy Pants Yellow Door ~ January Flavors of the month kit!

Happy Hump Day!!  I am so excited to share another layout with you created using the January Flavors of the month kit at The ScrapRoom!  Today I am sharing a double page layout I created using the Fancy Pants Yellow Door line, which is one of the four mini lines included in the kit!  Here is a reminder of the full kit:
Here is the Fancy Pants Yellow Door kit I used to create my layout:

Here is my layout:
Supplies: Cardstock: kraft- from the kit, bronze: from my stash; patterned paper: Fancy Pants Yellow Door- from the kit; ephemera: Fancy Pants Yellow Door- from the kit; twine: from the kit; die: CTMH- from my stash (title word family); word/phrase stickers: from the embellishment kit; enamel dots: Recollections- from my stash.
I had so much fun creating this layout using pictures from my friend's Fall family photo shoot!  The colors in these papers were perfect for these pictures!  I loved using the cut apart tags to make the border on the left page, such cheap embellishments!  I also added a few word/phrase stickers from the embellishment kit along with some enamel dots from my stash.  Make sure and head over to the ScrapRoom blog to see what the other DT members did with this amazing kit!!  I can't wait to see what you create with it!

Freezin' Season ~ January Flavors of the month kit!

TGIF!!  I'm back to share another layout I made using the January Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom today!!  If you are looking for my newest TN Time with Lisa & Lori challenge you can find it HERE.
Here is a reminder of the full kit:
Here is the Simple Stories Freezin' Season part of the kit I used for my layout:

Here is my layout using the kit:
Supplies Used: Cardstock: white- from the kit, black- from my stash; Patterned Paper: Simple Stories Freezin' Season- from the kit; stickers: Simple Stories Freezin' Season- from the kit: letter stickers: Scenic Route- from my stash; enamel dots: My Mind's Eye-from my stash.
Since we don't get much snow here in Texas I had to find a different way to use these papers from Simple Stories.  My niece and I decided to do a hot cocoa bar at our traditional Christmas Eve family dinner. We searched on Pinterest and found a lot of fun ideas, my nieces favorite one was making peppermint stick snowmen from candy canes and marshmallows.  They didn't turn out like the ones we saw on Pinterest (of course lol!) but we thought they were pretty yummy nonetheless!!  Here she is pictured with her peppermint stick snowman and cup of hot cocoa.  This line by Simple Stories is really so adorable!! I love the colors and the cute little sayings sticker strips had a lot of fun hot cocoa references which were perfect for this layout!!  I loved that you got a full 12 x 12 sheet of stickers in this kit which gives you so many options!  Make sure and head over to The ScrapRoom blog to see what the other DT members did with this fun kit OR to reserve your very own kit visit The ScrapRoom store!  Happy creating!

I am reading the book My One Word and just LOVE it!  I  am half way through.  It encourages you to pick ONE word for the year to concentrate on to help you focus in on an area of your life you want to change.  More info here: http://myoneword.org/word  My word is ABIDE.  Abide: to bear patiently, to wait for; to endure without yielding; to accept without objection.   I am starting 2019 off with this ONE word.  Hoping to focus on abiding, patiently waiting and being more accepting of challenges I will face.  Abiding in His word and yielding to HIS word as I study scripture on a regular basis in this coming year.  I plan to use this notebook to document my struggles, joys, and strategies as I focus on this ONE word this year...who knows where this will take me but I hope it will be a diary of sorts to keep me on track.  So whatever you use your TN for I know you will enjoy it as much as I have!  There are so many ways to use your TN I'd love to hear how you are using yours in 2019 or what you have done in the past!!

Here is the prize I will be giving away to one randomly selected winner from all entries:
Pink Paislee Hello Sunshine chipboard stickers

BONUS CHALLENGE:  combine my sketch challenge along with Lori's challenge below for a chance to win her prize:

SNS's New Beginnings Crop!

Good Monday morning friends! We started the New Year off right with a crop over on the Sketch N Scrap Facebook page on the 4th and it is in full swing!  We are having so much fun cropping together and hope you will join us!  Today is my turn to host a challenge!

For my challenge I picked this fun sketch by Heather:
We are adding a new TWIST to our sketch based crop challenges this year which is so fun!  My twist is to use ink/paint on your layout in some fashion!!
Here is my layout:

Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Scenic Route (grid background) & Echo Park Head over Heels; stickers: Echo Park Head Over Heels; dies: CTMH heart & stitched circles thin cuts; ink: CTMH (red & pink) & Stampin' Up (blue- soft sky); stamp set (for ink splats): Stampin' Up Gorgeous Grunge; rhinestone: Queen & Co; enamel hearts: Crate Paper.
I loved this sketch and the fun ink splats on it!  I decided to rotate the sketch to accommodate the picture I wanted to use.  I like using ink when I have a lot of "white" space to make the white space a little less "white" and little more to my style as white space always makes me feel as if my layout is lacking something!!  I see so many designers who are masters of white space and just LOVE their layouts but when I try to use more white space I always end up not liking it lol!  This layout was fun to make I have reset my 100 papers for the New Year (more on that in an upcoming post soon!) and I decided to start the New Year off by using up some of them.  For this layout I used 1 piece of paper and 1 item from my Bashket (enamel hearts).  I hope you will join us over on the Sketch N Scrap Facebook page and crop with us this month!  The crop is going on until January 31st at midnight CST so there is lots of time to play along!  Happy creating!!!!

Freak Fast Friday Challenge at the ScrapRoom!

It's the first Friday of the month and of the new Year- TGIF!!  You know what that means...time for the ScrapRoom's Freaky Fast Friday challenge!!!  Here is the January challenge:

Here is the January 2019 Flavors of the Month kit I used for my challenge:

Here is my layout using the super adorable kit & this SUPER fast challenge!!
Supplies Used: Cardstock: white- from the kit; patterned Paper: AC Shimelle Head in the Clouds- from the kit; stickers: AC Shimelle Head in the Clouds- from the kit; puffy stickers (hearts): AC Shimelle Head in the Clouds-from the kit; Journal card: AC Shimelle Head in the clouds from the January embellishment kit
This line is so whimsical and fun, so perfect for these pictures of my friend's sweet granddaughter and her first trip to the American Girl Doll Store!!  This layout literally took me less then 30 minutes to make!  The formula really is FREAKY FAST, the longest part of the process is gluing everything down!!  It makes it easy to make a layout, why not give it a try?  You won't regret it!  Make sure and hop over the The ScrapRoom blog or website to see the other amazing layouts the DT created with this fun kit!!
