April 100 Patterned Paper Update!

Wow!  I am so amazed we are almost to another month!  I am still struggling to keep myself accountable  this year on limiting my spending on crafty purchases and on using up my stash!  To learn more about my 100 patterned paper challenge you can read THIS POST.  I have missed my March update and am just eeking it out for my April update! So excited to say that I can tell a difference each month, I didn't buy any new papers in April, which is a big improvement!  I did fairly well on using up some embellishments but not on using up papers and am still behind on my goals!  Here is a picture of my BASHKET- my basket filled with older embellishments to bash for the upcoming month!
I decided to remind myself with before and afters each month, I am updating this basket each month so I don't get burnt out on all the stuff in it!  This was reset today for May!  My goal is to use up 10 items from this basket in May!
For April I was able to use up a measly 4 papers from my 100 paper stash...most of the papers I used were from my scrap bag...in fact I made a HUGE dent in my scrap bag this month, so much so that it is pretty empty!!!  My plan is to count a paper as used if the scraps left will fit in my bag, if they won't I can't count it as used...so I have about 4 papers that were still over 8 inches long so they didn't fit in my scraps bag, but they are on my desk ready to be used up, hopefully in May!
My goal for May it to use up 10 pieces of patterned paper!!
So there it is my update for April...Tally so far is:
January: Embellishments = 10  Papers = 5
February: Embellishments = 5 Papers = 6
March: Embellishments = 7  Papers = 4
April: Embellishments = 6 Papers = 4
Paper total = 19 which is about 14 papers behind schedule!  YIKES!  Gotta really get a move on!
I'm almost scared to set a reward goal but yet I sure do like scrappy shopping and feel kind of proud to have not bought a thing in April!  I was SO TEMPTED, I filled up my online carts with TONS of stuff but never clicked purchase 😀
My May reward if I hit my goal will be: My choice of a paper collection!  There are so many I want it may take me a while to decide on which one!  Any suggestions of collections you have recently purchased and loved or are drooling over?
Wish me luck!  🤞

April's Flavors of the Month kit at The ScrapRoom!

Today's my day to share my final layout using the April Flavor's of the Month kit!  Today I am using the Echo Park Imagine That mini kit included the bigger Flavor's of the Month kit!  Here is the entire kit:
Here is the Echo Park Imagine That mini kit, so cute!

Here is the double page layout I created with the kit:
Supplies Used:  Cardstock: kraft- from the kit, white, blue & lime- Stampin' Up- from my stash; Patterned Paper: Echo Park Imagine That- from the kit; ephemera: Echo Park Imagine That- from the kit; twine: Maya Road- from the kit; enamel dots: Echo Park (blue)- from the kit & My Mind's Eye orange and navy - from my stash; letter stickers: American Crafts Thickers (blue) & Jillibean Soup (small black)- from my stash; punches: Stampin' Up (star)- from my stash; chipboard letters: Echo Park Imagine That- embellishment kit

I loved these pictures of my nephew playing at the park, the colors were perfect for such sweet boy pictures!  This line is super fun and I know you will enjoy working with it as much as I did! I used the word "IMAGINE" from the chipboard accents included in the embellishment kit but you could easily just add the word using letter stickers from your stash, but I really love these colorful chipboard alphas, so perfect for my long title!!  Here is the fun embellishment kit I used:

I hope you have enjoyed seeing what I have done with this fun kit from The ScrapRoom, I believe there are some kits left so go check out all the fun goodies available at the ScrapRoom store!  Happy creating!

Pink Fresh Let your Heart Decide- April Flavors of the Month kit

I had so much fun with the April Flavors of the Month kit!!  Can you believe I have never used a paper line by Pink Fresh????!!  Me either!  I can't believe I waited this long! The Let Your Heart Decide line is spectacular!
Here is the April Flavors of the Month kit:
And here is the Pink Fresh Let Your Heart Decide mini kit:
Isn't it gorgeous???  Here is my layout using this kit:
Supplies Used: Card stock- white- from the kit; Patterned Paper: Pink Fresh Let your Heart Decide- from the kit; ephemera: Pink Fresh Let Your Heart Decide- from the kit; frame: Pink Fresh Let Your Heart Decide- from the kit; title- American Crafts Thickers- from my stash; wood veneers: Pink Fresh- from the embellishment kit
My good friend LOVES hummingbirds, so when I saw this sweet little hummingbird in my kit I knew I had to use this picture of her and her sweet daughter!  I loved the frame included in the kit as well but I always have a hard time using them, so I decided to treat it as a second picture, but because I didn't have second picture to frame I cut apart one of the many quote boxes which is one of the papers that comes in the kit and framed it!! I love the way it turned out!  These quote boxes are just to cute!!  Make sure and hop on over to the ScrapRoom blog to see what the other DT members did with this kit, there are some SUPER cute layouts using it!!  I also used the amazing embellishment kit on my layout - the wood veneer shapes included in this kit are awesome!

You can find the embellishment kit HERE at the ScrapRoom store!  I hope you will enjoy using this kit as much as I did!  Happy creating friends!

AC Shimelle Box of Crayons- April Flavors of the Month kit

Time for another layout using the ScrapRoom April Flavors of the Month kit!
Here is the kit:
Here is the mini kit featuring American Crafts Shimelle Box of Crayons paper line:

Here is my layout using this super fun and bright line
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Shimelle Box of Crayons- from the kit; card stock: black & white - from my stash; ephemera: Shimelle box of Crayons - from the kit; letter stickers: pink small stickers-from the kit; black & white letters & small black letters- from my stash; shaker (toucan)- Shimelle Box of Crayons- from the kit; stickers (lizard & crayons): Shimelle Box of Crayons- embellishment kit; dies: circle & scallop circle- from my stash
I had so much fun with this kit!! I went outside of my comfort zone and did a really fun long title with my pictures offset and not as linear as I usually do!  I figured a line this fun and crazy called for it! I knew right away the title I wanted to use and the pictures I wanted to use!! I love these pictures of my son and my BFF's son from way back in 2009 at one of our many trips to the waterpark!  They were horsing around and being silly when they didn't know we were looking....giving in to tween boy humor as boys love to do at that age! I just love the expressions on their faces, captures both their personalities so well!! This line is just perfect for any type of pictures and I just love the bright colors and funky ephemera that goes with this line! I did use the embellishment kit as well, here is that kit:
I hope you will enjoy this kit as much as I did!! Make sure and head over to the ScrapRoom blog to see what the other DT members created using this fun kit!  Happy creating friends!

April Flavor of the Month kit~ SS I Am

Time to reveal another amazing kit from The ScrapRoom!!  I know I say this every month but this one is filled with such amazing goodness I just loved it!!
Here is the kit:

Today I am sharing my layout using the Simple Stories I Am part of the kit.
Here is the mini kit:
Of course I haven't found a Simple Stories line I don't care for yet but this one is my ALL TIME favorite!!! The patterns and colors are just beautiful!  I used this month's Jump start sketch to complete my layout.  Here is this awesome sketch by Brenda Ragsdale:

Here is my layout using the sketch:
Supplies Used: card stock: Vanilla- from the kit & Black- from my stash ; Patterned Paper: Simple Stories I Am- from the kit; die cuts: Simple Stories I Am- from the kit; enamel dots: My Mind's Eye- from my stash; chipboard pieces (heart & quotes): Simple Stories I Am- from the embellishment kit
I had so much fun using this sketch and this kit to document these fun pictures of me and my son way back from 2003 at Easter!  I made my own tags using the floral and striped papers and then using my circle punches and black cardstock from my stash I made hole reinforcers for the tags instead of using twine or ribbon.  I also used black cardstock from my stash to back a few of the pattern paper layers to have them "pop" more.  I love the way this layout turned out and when using this this fun sketch that I stuck pretty close to it was super fast and easy to create!  Make sure and hop over to the ScrapRoom blog to check out what the other DT members did with the kit and don't forget to play along with the April Jump Start sketch challenge for a chance to win a gift certificate to the ScrapRoom store! You can link up your entries HERE.  If you are interested in the Flavors of the Month kit or the embellishment kit you can purchase either of them from the ScrapRoom store HERE!  Here is the amazing embellishment kit for April- I just loved it!!
Happy creating friends!  I can't wait to see what you create with this fun kit!!
