Are you ready for 2020?????

TGIF!!! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!  I enjoyed lots of family time, some amazing food (well, actually A LOT of amazing food!), and even some crafty time!!  I have spent the past few weeks not only getting ready for the holiday but also getting ready for next year!  Have you been planning what you would like to accomplish in the New Year?  Are you ready for 2020???!!!  I am THINK I am 😁  What better way to kick off the New Year then with a new challenge!  My scrappy friend Lori and myself have decided one of our goals in 2020 is to  USE SOME STASH!!  You might remember this year we made it a goal to start a traveler's notebook, so we started our TN Time with Lisa & Lori challenge and that was a HUGE success!!  I completed 12 spreads in my TN and loved EVERY ONE of them!!  But don't worry if you like our TN challenge we will be continuing it into the new year but we will also be adding a NEW challenge called The Great Stash Bash!!

This challenge is for those of you who like us want to use up more stash in 2020!!
Do you have tons of pretty patterned paper and embellishments in your stash just waiting to be used? Do you feel like you collect more supplies than you use? Then this challenge is for you! My friend Lori and I are committed to actually using our stash instead of just collecting it in 2020.

We've been talking about doing this for a while and decided to stop talking and start doing and kick off the new year with this challenge.

Here's how the challenge will work:

On the 1st of each month we will post a challenge prompt and the stash kit we have created following that prompt. During the month we will try to use as much of our stash kits as possible on different projects. Then, on the last day of the month, we will do a recap post showing what stash we were able to bash!

This will be a just-for-fun challenge so no monthly prize - but isn't the real prize using up our stash? You never know - if we still have a few unused stash items after a few months, then those items may just go into a giveaway. We hope you will join us in our quest to bash some stash in 2020. If you accept the challenge to play along - link up on either my blog or Lori's blog (or both if you choose) so that we can see who is joining us each month!

Rules:

1. Follow the challenge prompt to create a kit to work with throughout the month. You may use other items, but please concentrate on using your kit.
2. Create new, not previously posted projects using your stash kit.
3. If you have a blog - please include the challenge graphic and a link to our challenge in your posts.
4. You may link to social media if you don't have a blog. If you share on Instagram, please make sure to use - #lisaandlorisgreatstashbash2020

Make sure and follow myself and Lori either on our blogs or on Instagram so you can play along.  This new challenge will kick off on January 1st at 9 am CST!!  We hope you can play along with us and join in this fun journey of THE GREAT STASH BASH 2020!!!

Happy Christmas Eve!!  Are you ready for the big day?  It surely is the most wonderful time of the year!  Tonight as I sit here recovering from all the hustle and bustle of the day and preparing for even more chaos tomorrow, I am sipping some yummy hot cocoa and reflecting on all the amazing memories of this season!  So it's appropriate that I decided to use a fun hot cocoa sticker on my card using the December 20th card sketch at Sketch N Scrap!  Here is the sketch by yours truly:

Sketch N Scrap Monthly challenge

Happy Sunday!  The week is winding down and there is so much to do to get ready for Christmas!  Today it's my turn to host the challenge over at the Sketch N Scrap monthly Facebook group.  My challenge for today is to create a card using card sketch #123 by Heather Hall.  Here is the sketch:

Here is my card using the sketch:
Supplies Used:  card base: CTMH; Cardstock: Stampin' Up : chocolate chip, red riding hood & crumb cake; Patterned Paper: Stampin' Up (blue) & Echo Park Winter Park (red); die: CTMH snowflake; stamp: CTMH Love with all the Trimmings; ink: Red Riding Hood by Stampin' Up & rhinestone: Queen & Co
This card was so fun to make.  I used up a bunch of scraps, most notably this last piece of Stampin' Up paper from a collection I cannot recall the name of and this red scrap which is one of my last scraps from the Echo Park Winter Park collection from way back in 2011!  I just love this sentiment and plan to send out these cards to friends in January to start the New decade and New Year off right by sending cheer in the form of a card!!  I hope you will find time to play along with us in our monthly challenges group on Facebook this month!  Make sure and ask to join our group so you can see all the wonderful cards created with this sketch!!  Happy creating!

Heidi Swapp Winter Wonderland!

TGIF!!  Are you ready for the weekend?  I know I am!  This time of year there are not enough hours in the day!!  Today I am sharing a fun layout I created with the December Flavors of the month kit at The ScrapRoom.  Here is the full kit:
Here is the Heidi Swapp Winter Wonderland collection I used for my layout:

Here is my layout using the kit:
Supplies Used: Card stock: black- from the kit & white- from my stash; Patterned Paper: Heidi Swapp Winter Wonderland- from the kit; ephemera: Heidi Swapp Winter Wonderland; vellum embellishments: Heidi Swapp Winter Wonderland- from the kit; enamel dots: Recollections - from my stash

I just loved how this collection complimented not only Santa's outfit but my dear friend's sweet little granddaughter's Christmas dress!  I had a hard time finding adhesive to adhere the vellum embellishments so I backed them with white card stock from my stash and adhered them with adhesive.  While the look is more muted then a normal embellishment it is still rather muted and lends a fun look to your layout!  Make sure and head on over to the ScrapRoom blog to check out the other layouts the DT created with this fun collection!!  Happy creating!

December Flavors of the month kit at The ScrapRoom!!

Happy Hump Day!! December is here and it's all about Christmas crafting for me!! I am attempting a December Daily this year so stay tuned for more on that soon!  Today I am sharing a layout I created with the amazing December Flavors of the month kit at The ScrapRoom!!  Here is the beautiful kit:
Here is the super cute Doodlebug Christmas Magic collection I used for today's layout:

Here is my layout created with this fun kit:
Supplies Used: card stock: white- from the kit; Patterned Paper: Doodlebug Christmas Magic- from the kit; ephemera: Doodlebug Christmas Magic- from the kit
I just loved this line!  Doodlebug is always so fun and whimsical and always one of my favorites!   These pictures were slightly dark and when I attempted to use regal tone papers with them it made them appear even more dark, so this bright and cheery line, which was not my first choice for these pictures, did the trick of lightening them up!  I just love how it turned out!  There is nothing cuter then a sweet baby in front of a Christmas tree!  These photos of my friends granddaughter were just to cute not to scrap!!  Make sure and hop on over to the ScrapRoom blog to check out the other adorable layouts using this collection and the rest of the kit!!  I hope your December is filled with lots of creative time!  Happy creating!

Winter card with Sketch N Scrap!

Happy Monday!! I was lucky enough to get some time to create some cards and layouts this weekend! I love it when things come together so quickly, and when they do that means I am most likely using a sketch!  Today I wanted to share ONE more card I created using the November 5th card sketch at Sketch N Scrap.  Here is the sketch by sketch artist Heather:

Here is my card using the SUPER versatile sketch:
Supplies Used: card stock: White- CTMH; Paper Paper: Echo Park Hello Winter; sticker: Echo Park Hello Winter; stamp: CTMH; ink: Memento tuxedo black; pearls: Recollections
I loved this sketch so much I have already used it multiple times.  To see my first card created with the sketch go HERE.  I love a card that has a generic sentiment so I decided to make a few Winter themed cards to send come January.  I was also able to use up a bunch of old scraps to make this card as well, so that was another win in my book!  I hope you will join us at Sketch N Scrap this month, you have until November 30th at 9:55 pm CST to join in the fun for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to Paper House Productions!!  Happy creating!!

Freaky Fast Friday November Formula!!

TGIF!!!  I am SOOOO ready for the weekend, how about you???  I forgot to share the Freaky Fast Friday formula for November last week, so here it is:
Here is the amazing November Flavors of the Month kit from The ScrapRoom:

Here is the Simple Stories So Happy Together collection I used on today's layout:

Here is my layout using the November kit and Freaky Fast Friday Formula:
Supplies Used:  Cardstock: Navy- from the kit; Patterned Paper: Simple Stories: So Happy Together- from the kit; stickers: Simple Stories: So Happy Together- from the kit

I struggled a bit with this formula at first, and I am not sure why because I usually struggle more when the formula includes a circle!  I finally found a design I was happy with. Even though I did struggle with it at first, the layout still came together in under 30 minutes, which is one reason this challenge remains my favorite!! I love the mix of patterns on this layout, this kit gives you a lot of patterns so it's easy to mix and match them!  I thought these colors were perfect for this lovely family photo of my friend and her sweet granddaughter and hubby!   Make sure and hop on over to the ScrapRoom blog to check out what the other DT members did with this fun formula!!  I hope you will find time to give a go, it is SUPER fun and FREAKY fast!!  Happy creating!

These papers went perfectly with these family photos of my friends lovely family gathering!!  Make sure and head on over to The ScrapRoom blog to check out all the other amazing layouts using this fun kit!!  Happy creating!

Sketch N Scrap crop card

Today it's my turn to host our 4th and final challenge in the Sketch N Scrap monthly Facebook challenge group!!  My challenge is to use this sketch from World Card Making Day 2017 to create a card with the optional twist to repeat the icon in your pattern paper on the card!  So since I used snowflake patterned paper I repeated that them by using a snowflake as an embellishment on my card!  Here is the sketch I used:

Here is my card using the sketch and the optional twist:
Supplies Used: Card stock: White & Always Artichoke by Stampin' Up; embossing folder: Sizzix; die: stitches snowflakes by Lawn Fawn; stamp: CTMH; ink: Always Artichoke by Stampin' Up; Patterned Paper: Stampin' Up; rhinestones: Queen & Co
I FINALLY used up this pack of Stampin' Up Designer Paper!  It is very old and I don't even remember the name of it or how old it is, but I am sure it is well over 7 years old!!   I think the colors are so pretty and I guess that is why I have hoarded these last few pieces for so long lol!!  I love this sketch, it's so versatile!  I hope you will find time to join in the fun this month at Sketch N Scrap!! Happy Creating!
