Atlantic Hearts sketch #264

The weekend just flew by didn't it?  I know that even though I spent a few hours each day at my craft desk, it wasn't near enough!!  Of course, it never is, is it?!!  If you remember my monthly goal was to complete 3 challenges I had never participated in before!  So today I was able to check the second challenge off my list!  Today I am participating in the Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge!  Here's the sketch:

Here is my card using the sketch:
Supplies Used: Cardstock: Charcoal & White- CTMH; Patterned Paper: CTMH Make Waves; Ink: Black- CTMH; Markers: Shin Han- CTMH; stamp: Puny Pals- CTMH; circle die: Stampin' Up; sentiment: unknown source
I had a lot of fun getting out of my comfort zone with this sketch! It was a bit different with a lot of "white" space which is always a challenge for me, but I love how it turned out!  This card is actually going to be a birthday card for my niece who loves cats, but the kicker is, her birthday isn't until November lol!  So I am WAY ahead of the game, which does not happen often with me!  😏 I also was able to use up one more item out of my BASHket!!  The sentiment was in a random kit I got in a class YEARS ago and I found it while cleaning and purging and stuck it in my BASHket in hopes of using it!  So glad to finally use it!  It's cute so not sure why I never used it before!  I also was able to use my Puny Pals stamp set that I had bought and never used!  I accomplished a lot with this one card:
 1) complete 3 new to me challenges ✅✅
2) use up an item in my 10 items in my BASHket ✅✅✅✅✅
3) Use 3 stamp sets I have never used yet ✅✅
Things are looking good goal wise this month...I really want to buy myself a reward!! It's month 5 and I have yet to hit a goal!  I know this is my month!  I hope you will check out the Atlantic Hearts challenges, they have some very inspiring projects created by their DT! I learned about this challenge by reading my friend Lori's blog, she is one of the DT members and I always drool over her work but never make time to play along with all the fun challenges she shares!  Happy creating friends!

Card sketch #122

I'm back with another card to share today!  I am getting ready for a big card sale at my house in a few weeks, I will be selling my cards to raise money for the helping hands ministry at my church and so I want to have a big variety of cards to sell so as to raise money for this awesome ministry! Today we have our last card sketch of the month up at Sketch N Scrap!  That always means to me the month is closing out and I always re-evaluate my monthly goals, set my planner for the next month and then say..."where in the world did the time go!"...yep...I say it every month! 😲
Here is the sketch created by yours truly:

Here is the card I created based on the sketch:
Supplies Used: Cardstock- White, Nutmeg & Juniper by CTMH; Patterned Paper: CTMH Gimme Some Sugar; ink- CTMH Nutmeg; Stamp set/thin cuts- CTMH Fresh Air; punch: Stampin' Up flower; rhinstone: CTMH; enamel dots- My Mind's Eye

I just had to try out my newest stamp set and thin cut set from Close to My Heart!! I LOVE this set, look for more using it soon!  Here is the entire set:
You can purchase this amazing set alone or with the thin cut dies!  I am hooked on die cutting vs fussy cutting now that it is an option so I ALWAYS buy the dies...you can always use them for other things as well, these shapes are so versatile!  You can purchase this set on my website: HERE.
Make sure and hop over to the Sketch N Scrap blog to see what the other DT members did with the sketch, you are sure to be inspired!  You have until May 31st at 9:55 CST to play along with us!  Happy creating friends!

More card fun!

Are you glad it's almost the weekend?  I know I am!  It's been a stressful busy week and so of course what a better way to unwind or destress then to spend time at my craft desk whipping up a fun card?!!!  Last night I whipped up this fun card using the May 5th sketch at Sketch N Scrap!
Supplies Used: cardstock: CTMH white & Stampin Up Bermuda Bay; Patterned Paper: CTMH (dots & striped), American Crafts(blue); stamp: CTMH Inspire; butterfly: Simple Stories Romance ephemera pack; ink: CTMH Charcoal; Die: Stitched circle by Stampin' Up; punch: flower by Stampin' Up & rhinestone: Queen & Company

Here is the fun sketch by Heather that I used:

One of my goals for the month was to participate in some new to me challenges!  I figured the month is 1/2 over so I better get going if I am going to hit my goal!!  So I did a quick search for stamping challenges and found this new challenge called the heARTful stamping challenge!  So many inspiring card and projects on this site, you MUST check it out!  The challenge for this week is "ANYTHING GOES" so I decided to participate!  I will also add, I didn't have much time to stamp/craft so I only allowed myself to use the stuff sitting on my desk!!  I used all scraps from my scrap bag and dies that I had in my little die bowl where I place "extras" that I die cut from scraps or just die cut and never used!  The stamp was one I bought a while back and had never used!! YIKES!  I don't know why because it is amazing and I know the perfect person to send this card to!  Here is the stamp set I used:
You can find the stamp set on my website HERE!  I hope to be using it again really soon! I hope you will play along with the challenges at the heARTful stamping challenge or Sketch N Scrap this month!  If you are so gracious to leave me a link to your creations I would love to be inspired and leave you some love if you would share them with me! I will be back this weekend to share some more crafty goodness with you as I have plans to get crafty for at least a few hours this weekend while watching the royal wedding!  Happy creating friends!

Sketch N Scrap Card sketch #121

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!!  I hope you are celebrating today with at least a few hours of crafty time!  I have been crafting off and on between errands and chores but hope to have the rest of the evening to just binge watch some backlogged recordings of shows I have missed and participate in some of the fun challenges at Sketch N Scrap!  Today we have the first card sketch of the month up.  It's a fun one by Heather!  When I first saw it I had so many ideas for it I couldn't believe it!  I ended up getting two cards made using it, but I know I will use this one again! Here is the amazing sketch by Heather:

Here is my first card using the sketch:
Supplies Used: Cardstock: CTMH- White Daisy; Patterned Paper: Carta Bella Spring Market & Crate Paper;sticker: Carta Bella- Spring Market (May Flavors of the month kit); die- Stampin' Up stitched circle; sentiment- unknown
And my second card using the sketch:
Supplies Used:  Cardstock- CTMH white & Stampin' Up Strawberry Slush; Patterned Paper: Echo Park- Sweet Day; Sticker: Balloon- Echo Park Sweet Day & Thanks So Much- Pebbles; sentiment: unknown sticker
I had so much fun creating these two very different cards!  The other fun thing for me was that I was able to use up ALL scraps on these cards from my scrap bag!! My scrap bag is actually kind of bare!  These sentiment stickers on both cards and the two stickers on the second card- hot air balloon & Thanks So Much are all FOUR from my BASH IT box!!! So it's only May 5th and I have used up 4 things already...finally in the 5th month I am gaining vs struggling on hitting my stash bashing goals!  I hope you will join us at Sketch N Scrap for our online crop this month! Sketch N Scrap is turning six and we are celebrating with a month long Sixth Birthday Bash crop!!  We have a beautiful Pink Fresh prize and lots of fun challenges!  So come join in the fun!!
And of course we will also be celebrating on the blog as well!  Visit the Sketch N Scrap blog to see the NSD exclusive sketch posted this morning, and every Saturday for the month of May we will be posting an extra bonus birthday bash sketch!!  Plus we have The ScrapRoom as the sponsor this month as well as two additional DT sponsored prize packages for a total of THREE different prizes!!!   So you won't want to miss out on all the fun!  Happy crafting friends!

To be honest, I would never have purchased this paper if I was shopping for paper, it didn't spark any creativity in me at first!  So I ended up doing this layout last but I have to say it ended up being my most favorite from this kit!!  I have used up EVERY scrap of this paper line, but still have some stickers left, it is now one of my all time favorite lines! This line was perfect to document these pictures of my friend's daughter reading her Bible! I really loved these pictures and this line showcases them perfectly!  If you haven't tried our Freaky Fast Friday challenge yet you need to!  It is SOOOOO fast, freaky fast 😍 thus it's name!!  I love doing this challenge each month as it really helps me get a layout completed at lightning speed!  I'm addicted!  Make sure and head over to the ScrapRoom blog to see what the other DT members have done with the kit and then head over to purchase yours at The ScrapRoom store!  Happy creating!
