Mix it up!

Good morning everyone!  I'm here today sharing my last layout for my stint as design team member for Lori Brown's CTMH team.  I had so much fun being part of this great team, but as they say all good things must come to an end.  This month I decided to mix it up a bit....after all it's a New Year, so for this layout I used a mix of papers from different lines.  Here is my layout:
Supplies Used: Cardstock: Basic Grey; Patterned Paper: CTMH Tommy, Surf's Up & Pro Player;
chipboard: Basic Grey Hey Boy; star: CTMH Pro Player; stamp: CTMH Pro Player
scrapbooking kit; ink: Night of Navy by Stampin Up; quote tag: My Mind's Eye;
journaling tag: Chic Tags; punches: Stampin Up; letters: rub ons by Making Memories.

I was able to mix three wonderful lines from CTMH : Tommy and ProPlayer, which are two awesome masculine lines and the third line Surf's Up, which is retired.  I was also able to use up a few embellishments from my stash which I thought coordinated great with these lines, the quote from My Mind's Eye I had had in my stash for years, plus I used up some chipboard embellishments from Basic Grey as well as some really old rub on letters.  I do like the look of rub ons, but they are a bit hard to work with when you haven't had practice with them for a while.  This is one of my favorite pictures of my son at 4, I just love his smile in this picture and it is fun to see him in a suit and tie, since nowadays he would NEVER let himself be caught wearing a suit and tie!!!  How times change! lol!  If you are looking for some fun new products or any masculine papers I would highly recommend either of these lines (ProPlayer or Tommy).   If you are so inclined to do some shopping then don't forget to visit Lori's CTMH store and click on the link Lisa's My Creative Endeavors sent me!  Happy crafting!

Frosted Designs Challenge!

Today I am sharing my first layout as a Frosted Designs' Design Team member! I am so excited to share my layout with and hope you will enjoy being inspired by all the other wonderful creations the design team came up with!  Frosted Designs is thrilled to be partnering with Stuck?!Sketches on this challenge! Barb thought it would be fun to combine the sketch at Stuck?!Sketches with a challenge from us so, we would like to see you use this sketch along with Ink, Paint or Mists. How fun is that?! You are welcome to use this sketch to create cards, canvas projects, off the page projects,  journal pages and layouts! Pretty much anything you create using this sketch can be linked up! Just remember to use paint, ink or mist!!
Here is the sketch:

And here is my take on it:
Products used from the Frosted Designs store:
American Crafts- Textured Cardstock White

For my ink I used a stamp pad to ink around the edges of my banner, tags and die cuts (I love this technique it really makes things pop!) and then I embossed my top tag with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and used my pink ink on a make up sponge to darken the tag and highlight the embossed numbers! Make sure an visit the Frosted Designs blog to see what other ladies came up with, I know you will be inspired!  And don't forget to visit the Frosted Designs store, you will LOVE LOVE LOVE the February kit:
So stop by and order yours today! I hope you have a scrappy first weekend of the New Year! Enjoy!

Happy 2014 friends!  I wish you a blessed New Year filled with joy, laughter, friends, family and lots of TIME to preserve those memories!   Sketch N Scrap is revealing their first sketch of the New Year today.  Sketch is by me:

And here is my take on it:
Supplies Used:  Patterned Paper: Echo Park Winter Park; Cardstock- Stampin Up;
letter stickers: Echo Park Winter Park; punch: snowflake by Stampin Up; snowflakes-
Maya Road (clear), Recollections- wood,  Stampin Up - felt; brads- Making Memories;

I have been meaning to document these pictures of my son shoveling snow back in 2010 with a spade (we left our snow shovel in Missouri when we moved) thinking we wouldn't see snow again!  Boy were we wrong!  Goes to show you, you never know when you might need that something you give away...or at least that is what I keep telling myself every time I try to purge my craft room! lol!  I was able to use up some older papers from Echo Park....just itching to break into my new Fancy Pants Timbergrove line, so be on the lookout for new projects coming with those newer papers!  Make sure and stop by Sketch N Scrap to see what the other designers did with the sketch!  Plus we have an awesome sponsor this month!  Skyline Paperie is sponsoring us, they are a new store filled with tons of awesome new embellishments and other crafty goodies and the prize ROCKS....

but you can't win if you don't play, so check it out and play along with us this month!  You know you want to!
