Twistback Thursday

Gosh, I can't believe I have not posted as I intended this month (blush)!  I have been super busy enjoying life I guess, I have done a lot of Spring cleaning and reorganizing as well a few DIY home projects that I have been putting off and of course, they took longer then I thought they would (I know gasp!!! lol!)  So without further ado let me share one fun challenge with you for our third Twistback Thursday feature where we share an oldie but a goodie sketch from Sketch N Scrap and add a little twist to spice it up!  Up this month was Heather and she not only added a twist she added a BIG twist, but first the sketch.  The sketch she choose was one from September 2013 by me:

Now for the TWIST: use ONLY WHITE cardstock to complete your layout using the above sketch!!! Wow!  What a challenge!  Time to dig out your inks, chalks, mist etc and get creative! Here is my layout:
Supplies Used: Cardstock: Stampin Up, Inks: Stampin Up- real red, green galore &
tempting turquoise,  Stamps: Stampin Up- Fabulous Four, Gorgeous Grunge, &
Flower Shop, punch: Stampin Up; Embossing folder: Sizzix.
I used a sponge dauber to create the circles on my dotted cardstock on top and then under that I embossed the paper and sponged green galore ink onto it.  The flowers were stamped and punched out.  The scallop circles were punched out then inked red.  The splats and splatters are a stamp set.  I made a faux "hello badge" using a hello stamp and then handwrote the rest of my title!   I love the way this turned out, I surprised even myself, see you don't need to always use fancy embellishments, you can do a lot with white cardstock!  I hope you will find some time to play along with us at Sketch N Scrap this month, you have just a bit over a day to play along but hey, even after our deadline closes you can play along we would love to see your creations so if the link up is closed make sure and share on our Facebook page!  Be creative & enjoy the process friends!

  1. Just wanted to let you know that your totally ROCKED this challenge! I guess the most important part of this challenge for me was to try new things. Then they are always in the back of your mind to use when you work on other projects.
